Shen Dang’s eyes flickered with a dark gleam as he smiled nonchalantly, "Divorced, is grandma happy now?"

"Really?"

She hoped he wasn’t deceiving her.

Seeing that the Old Madam didn’t believe him, Shen Dang took out the divorce certificate.

The Old Madam opened the divorce certificate joyfully and looked at it several tis.

Shen Dang’s eyes narrowed, his expression cool but not cold.

Now completely at ease, the Old Madam said, "It’s good that you divorced her; she was never right for you."

She returned the divorce certificate to Shen Dang.

"And who, in grandma’s opinion, would be right for ?"

Shen Dang looked serenely gentle at this mont.

"Of course Miss Chu, Ah Wan is a good girl."

Mainly because she suited her preferences.

The Old Madam added, "Certainly better than that girl from the Qiao Family."

The Chu Family was also well-respected, a perfect match for the Shen Family.

Shen Dang suddenly smiled, "If grandma thinks Miss Chu is so good, why not take her as your goddaughter?"

"You..."

The Old Madam lifted her eyes to look at Shen Dang.

Since coming back from two years abroad, this grandson had beco inscrutable to her.

The Old Madam was still caught in the mories of Shen Dang’s childhood, mistakenly believing he was the obedient grandson who always listened to her.

A smile remained on Shen Dang’s face, "Miss Chu visits you often, which shows rare filial piety."

"Ah Dang, you clearly know what grandma ans. I only want the best for you," the Old Madam said earnestly.

"Mm, I know."

Shen Dang tenderly patted the Old Madam’s head, with a look and gesture full of gentleness, "Grandma, I know you like Chu Wan, but please don’t just shove soone at or I’ll get upset, really."

The gentle blade cut softly, each cut painless and subtle.

The Old Madam caught the hint in his words and sighed deeply, "If you’re not interested in Ah Wan, you have your pick of young heiresses in Hai City. Just let grandma keep an eye out for you."

Shen Dang lazily agreed, "Alright, I’ll be more observant."

"Above all, it can’t be Qiao Xi!"

The Old Madam had a strong prejudice against Qiao Xi.

Shen Dang lightly lifted his eyes, softly warning the Old Madam, "Just rember not to slip in front of grandfather, his health is poor, you must rember this, otherwise I won’t forgive you."

"I know the limit."

Shen Dang seed listless, with a casual air, "Xixi ca with today; I’m going to head downstairs now."

Upon hearing that Qiao Xi was downstairs, the Old Madam looked slightly displeased.

But knowing they still had to playact to deceive the old man, she refrained from comnting.

"Ah Dang, you too need to know your limits."

Shen Dang paused slightly, "I know."

Before Shen Dang reached the bottom, he heard Qiao Xi’s laughter.

Ran Jing was also laughing; both laughter sounded delightful.

At the top of the stairs, he saw Qiao Xi’s delicate features seed to co alive with her smile,

The smile on her face lted away the winter’s cold, bringing a touch of warmth, no longer the cool, indifferent facade.

She had never smiled like this in front of him.

Either cool or false, like wearing a mask.

The feeling was completely different now.

Looking down from the staircase at the people on the sofa, Shen Dang vaguely felt this was what ho felt like.

As a child, with busy parents, he was raised strictly by his grandfather, hence he developed an independent streak early on.

Over the years, marriage, even a wife, hadn’t seed particularly important in his life.

But at this mont, he suddenly wanted to capture this warm scene forever.

Yet when his hand touched sothing hard in his pocket, his expression suddenly shifted.

Now that the initial mistake had ended, they had both started anew.

Shen Hongxuan, seeing the figure on the stair, looked puzzled, "Ah Dang, what are you doing standing there?"

The others looked up towards the stairs.

Qiao Xi t Shen Dang’s gaze across the space.

Shen Dang smiled at her.

Qiao Xi: "..."

His smile was baffling.

Shen Dang strolled down the last few steps, "I was just thinking how nice it would be to have a few more kids around. The house would certainly be lively."

Qiao Xi: "!!!"

Did this damned man even know what he was saying?

Had he gone mad?

Old Master Shen’s nostrils flared, "Didn’t you just say you didn’t want kids? Are you fooling , you rascal?"

Qiao Xi gave Shen Dang a cool glance before she turned to soothe the Old Master, "Grandfather, don’t be angry; he’s just joking."

If looks could kill.

Boss Shen would have been slain several tis over by Qiao Xi’s glares.

"Thinking doesn’t break any laws."

Shen Dang sat on the sofa’s armrest, affectionately draping an arm around Qiao Xi’s shoulder.

The pose naturally radiated intimacy.

Boss Shen’s comforting presence enveloped her, and Qiao Xi no longer felt awkward.

But as he took the opportunity to get frisky with her, she nearly unleashed her impulse to chop off his intrusive hand.

Thinking my ass!

Qiao Xi wanted to crack open his skull to see just what he was thinking.

He was clearly aware that his grandfather had always wanted a great-grandchild, yet he said this on purpose. Was he poisoned or what?

But all she could do at the mont was to keep smiling, nestled against Shen Dang.

Ran Jing nudged Shen Hongxuan, then looked his way with a gaze suggesting he watch the two kids.

Look at that, such a match.

The kids they’d have would surely be beautiful!

After all, both parents and grandparents had excellent genes!

"Thinking?" Old Master Shen’s voice was robust, "It seems like you’re trying to provoke to death!"

Shen Dang looked down at Qiao Xi’s elegant and refined nose, his smile casual and slightly mischievous, "Not at all. My filial piety to grandfather is clear for all to see. Since grandpa is so keen on having children, maybe adopting a few from an orphanage would be a good idea. That way, Xixi and I can catch our breath too."

Qiao Xi: "..."

Listen to that. Was that even human speech?

"Don’t be so flippant." As expected, Old Master Shen was angry and nearly used his cane to hit him.

"To be serious, Xixi and I will let grandpa hold his great-grandchild one day, so you must take care of your health."

At least he said sothing sensible.

Old Master Shen was delighted, "Then I’ll wait for that day."

The atmosphere seed quite harmonious nonetheless.

Qiao Xi raised her hand and stealthily pinched Shen Dang on the thigh.

Teach him to spout nonsense!

"Ouch..."

Shen Dang couldn’t help but make a sound.

It truly hurt.

He hadn’t expected Qiao Xi to do that.

He licked his lips, looking a bit devilish and tantalizing, "What are you doing?"

Ran Jing looked at him with a strange look.

Shen Dang told Ran Jing, "Nothing, just saw so frightening news on my phone."

"Always jumping at shadows."

Shen Dang leaned down, his lips close to Qiao Xi’s ear, his voice a breathy whisper, "Teacher Qiao, that was quite a hard hit."

Qiao Xi glared at him covertly, did he believe there couldn’t be a harder hit?

"Keep it appropriate."

Qiao Xi maintained her composure and a smile.

Ran Jing held her cheeks with a sugar-crushed expression, admiringly saying, "Look at how these kids whisper to each other, youth is so wonderful."

Shen Hongxuan also glanced at them and seed to agree, "Indeed."

Qiao Xi: "..."
