Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Relationship? Does Ex-Husband/Ex-Wife Count?
Shen Hanxiu leaned closer to her, watching her panic, he continued unhurriedly: “The child is three years old, wasn’t it when she was conceived while being with ?”
Su Nian pretended to be calm, and her response infuriated Shen Hanxiu to the point of smoking: “President Shen, have you forgotten the possibility of infidelity during marriage?”
Shen Hanxiu laughed angrily in extre fury, causing Su Nian’s scalp to tingle. His towering figure and irresistible force filled her with oppression and panic.
This man was ticulous in his thoughts, and now it seed that this eting was also orchestrated by him. He had set nurous traps early on, no matter how she guessed or fled, it was rely falling into another trap. If he insisted on taking the child away from her side, she would fight him to the death!
In the silence, the two of them were covertly competing in strength. Su Nian struggled to push his arms away; Shen Hanxiu slightly straightened up and increased the distance between them, his voice coming from above her head: “Quit your job and co back with .”
Hearing his commanding tone as if it was a matter of course, Su Nian couldn’t help but laugh: “Shen Hanxiu, do we still have a relationship? What right do you have to dictate my life?”
“Relationship? How about ex-husband and ex-wife?”
Su Nian raised her hands to push his arms away and slipped out: “Unreasonable!”
Shen Hanxiu stood up straight, his gaze had not left Su Nian since he entered the room.
Su Nian picked up the folder, intending to turn around and leave, but the business matters hadn’t been discussed yet. She turned around and spoke in a formal tone: “President Shen, we have discussed your proposal and have no objections. If it’s convenient, we can sign the contract now.”
Shen Hanxiu looked at her with a smile that was not quite a smile, ignoring the question: “I’m just asking you one thing, are you coming back or not?”
Su Nian pondered for a long ti, not considering whether to return, but considering how to persuade him: “Shen Hanxiu, let’s not et again. I’m doing very well, please do the favor of not disturbing .”
His face showed neither joy nor anger; he reached out to snatch the folder from her hand, boldly signed his na with a pen, and then handed the folder back to her, only saying three words: “You may leave.”
His decisiveness stunned Su Nian; she took the docunt from his hand and hesitated for a few seconds before leaving.
His abrupt withdrawal made her feel uneasy.
The Shen Hanxiu she rembered was not soone to give up so easily.
Then she thought, it had been four years, even the deepest feelings must have faded. He was powerful and influential, many won would line up to marry him. There was no need for him to take a step back, especially since he might never have truly loved her.
Their relationship was truly over, and she should be happy that no one would compete with her for Su Zhen and Su Bao anymore.
Shen Hanxiu’s appearance disturbed Su Nian, leaving her unable to focus all afternoon.
After work, she drove to the kindergarten to pick up the children, but her mind was sowhat elsewhere.
When she reached the school intersection, bustling with parents picking up their children, Su Nian found a spot to park, only to suddenly spot a familiar car.
A Maybach, not just anyone could afford such a car, rarely seen even in big cities let alone this small county town. And she knew well that the man she knew liked to drive this car.
Her heart imdiately sank with a bad premonition; it wasn’t that Su Nian was paranoid, but those two children were simply too important to her!
She hurried to the school gate and happened to see Su Bao running towards her.
“Where’s Zhenzhen?”
Su Bao pointed inside the school: “I told her, but she wouldn’t listen.”
Following Su Bao into the school, she caught sight of that tall, distinguished figure which seed out of place next to the small school store, Zhenzhen’s chubby little hands hooked around his neck, sitting in his arms.
