Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Looking Dumb and Still Not Giving Peace of Mind!
Su Nian’s desk was already small, and with such a large bouquet of flowers, she didn’t know where to put them. She worried that leaving them on the floor might seem disrespectful. Since she was going to have lunch now, she decided to place the flowers on the desk.
Wei Lan teased her, “Hey, Sister Niannian, Song Yang is a good guy, very warm-hearted, popular in the company, and capable on his own. You’re working hard raising two kids by yourself. I think you should just date him for a while. If things work out, great! You’re both talented and attractive, plus he likes kids, there’s no way he’d ever abuse them like so stepfathers do!”
” Lanlan, I really have no plans to get married. Plus, I’m divorced with two kids; Song Yang is so young, it would be a waste on him.”
As they were leaving and chatting, Lanlan said, “He doesn’t mind, so why are you so unconfident? You’re gentle and beautiful, and you’re a hard worker. That’s your capital! There’s no such thing as wasting or not. You say Song Yang is young, but you’re young too. A man a few years older than a woman is quite appropriate.”
Su Nian’s thoughts were a ss, not about whether to accept or reject, but how to clearly convey her attitude without hurting Song Yang, which gave her a headache, worse than doing accounts!
“Let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s decide what to eat for lunch.”

The elevator arrived, and the two squeezed in. Just as the elevator doors were closing, the doors of the adjacent executive elevator opened.
The floor was quiet after work hours. Shen Hanxiu had a habit of checking her departnt before heading to the canteen, only proceeding when he saw no one there.
This ti was no exception. The finance departnt was deserted, not a soul in sight. His gaze drifted, as usual, towards Su Nian’s desk, but unexpectedly, he spotted a flash of dazzling red.
Even soone as unromantic as he could understand the aning behind roses.
A slight frown on his brow, he stepped into the deserted departnt, the sound of his shiny black leather shoes echoing on the floor.
He ca to a stop at Su Nian’s desk and looked down at the bright roses. There had to be at least ninety-nine, if not a hundred. A gift from a man?
Shen Hanxiu, without any pity, pulled out the card that Su Nian hadn’t had the chance to open yet. Neat handwriting read: Su Nian, I like you, from the very first mont I saw you.
The signature was Song Yang.
Shen Hanxiu’s gaze instinctively swept the office. Who was Song Yang?
Shen Hanxiu crumpled the card in his palm, then walked to the departnt head’s office to locate Song Yang’s na on the personnel list.
From the sa departnt?
Did Su Nian accept the flowers, or were they placed here after she left?
What a headache; not attentive for a few days at work and already causing trouble!
Shen Hanxiu looked at the flowers and finally decided to just take the card. Regardless of whether she knew about the flowers beforehand, it was fine to leave the flowers for her enjoynt. After all, if she didn’t know who sent them, no problem. If she did know beforehand, then the absence of the flowers might make her suspicious.
