Chapter 319: Chapter 227: Are He and She Just Over Like This?_2
Ziyan felt that she was at fault. Indeed, she shouldn’t have stayed at Su Yuecheng’s ho for so long. Although Su Yuecheng never complained about her being troubleso and had taken care of her for nearly a year, she couldn’t comfortably and rightfully accept his kindness, given she had nothing to repay him with.
Money can be repaid, but a favor owed is a lifeti burden.
Seeing Ziyan not objecting to anything, Liu Yuyuan beca even more enthusiastic in her chiding. She dared not speak her mind when her son was around, but now that he was gone, she made sure her words were clear. She couldn’t let her son fall into this woman’s trap.
“I an, you were the esteed young wife of the Tang Family, why co trouble my son?! Could it be that you cuckolded the Tang Family, and that’s why Young Master Tang divorced you? Such a licentious woman!”
Ziyan looked up at her, too disheartened to even bother gesturing anything back.
“You still dare to glare at ?! Do you think what I’m saying is wrong?! If you had the gall to do it, don’t you have the bravery to admit it? Tomorrow, you are getting out of here! Do you really think yourself as the lady of this house?”
Turning her head away, Ziyan continued carrying Dudu upstairs, but Liu Yuyuan grabbed her, almost causing Ziyan to fall. She steadied herself using the banister but accidentally bumped Dudu’s head, causing the originally sleeping little one to start crying loudly.
Ziyan’s heart ached as she watched, while Liu Yuyuan relentlessly scolded her, “How dare you show such an attitude when a senior is speaking to you?” She mocked Ziyan intentionally to embarrass her, “Oh, I forgot you’re mute!”
With Dudu crying severely, Ziyan no longer wanted to stay and let her continue hurling abuses. She continued upstairs, but Liu Yuyuan grabbed her again, “Are you moving out or not?! If not, don’t bla for being rude!”
It reminded her of the woman called ‘Mom,’ who was also constantly wishing she would go far away, hoping she would die.
Ziyan got angry, forcefully shrugging her off. Liu Yuyuan, wearing high heels, stumbled and twisted her ankle on the stairs but held onto the railing to keep from falling.
Once steadied, her anger intensified. She stord up and slapped Ziyan across the face, “You dare to push ?! You’re living off my son, and you still don’t respect ?!”
Ziyan’s ears rang; although Liu Yuyuan’s voice was shrill, it seed to co from afar. The room darkened, and she felt dizzy.
Fearing Liu Yuyuan would harm Dudu, Ziyan stumbled back to her room, not sure if it was the pain or the feeling of injustice that made the silent tears fall.
Liu Yuyuan’s yelling continued outside, “You shaless woman! Get out tomorrow!”
Holding the sobbing Dudu, Ziyan cried helplessly.
She felt like since the day she was born, the whole world resented her.
She thought she had been trying hard, doing well, but instead of praise, she received relentless scolding.
Dudu’s pitiful crying gradually cald her down. After wiping her tears, she fed Dudu, and he finally quietened down.
Touching Dudu’s small face, Ziyan wiped her tears that gradually dried, replaced by a smiled.
Then she turned her gaze outside the window, wondering where could ever be a haven for her and her daughter?
Dudu woke several tis, then fell asleep again; at this stage, kids either cry or sleep.
As the night deepened, Ziyan glanced out the pitch-black window, then at the bedside clock—it was already nearly 1 am…
She seldom stayed up so late.
Walking to the window, she saw a stretch of road illuminated by a distant car light, which stopped right under her building.
He was back, and after thinking it over all night, she decided she still needed to tell him her decision and more importantly, thank him.
His footsteps slowly approached her room. As they neared, she brushed her hair over her face to cover the swelling. Fortunately, the unbruised side faced him, so he didn’t notice anything amiss.
Their eyes t; he halted, stared at her bewildered for a mont, then softly asked, “Why are you still up?”
Ziyan slowly raised her hand, looking at him, signaling: I want to talk to you about sothing…
Su Yuecheng, thinking it was about the flower shop issue, nodded and walked to his door, opened it, then said, “Co in and talk.”
She stepped in, sitting uneasily on the sofa, and without waiting for him to ask, she gestured: Don’t worry about the flower shop… I was thinking, starting over is also troubleso.
Su Yuecheng frowned, sensing sothing unpleasant.
As expected, the next second she said, “I want to go back…”
“Why so sudden?”
Ziyan wasn’t going to tell Su Yuecheng about Liu Yuyuan’s words to her, rather, she made up an excuse, “I was thinking tonight, if I start one here, I wouldn’t go back directly anyway. Besides, Nian’nian and others have always been looking after the flower shop back there, it wouldn’t be so troubleso…”
Su Yuecheng didn’t suspect further, only pondered silently before asking with concern, “What about Tang Shaosheng causing you trouble?”
This was also Ziyan’s concern, yet she smiled, reassuring him, “We are divorced, and it’s been so long, he won’t bother anymore.”
“Then… wait until your vocal cords treatnt is over before leaving?” He tried to keep her.
Ziyan remained silent for a mont, thinking of Liu Yuyuan’s harshness, not wanting to stay a mont longer, “No need for treatnt… I’m fine as is… and thank you for these tis.”
Su Yuecheng wasn’t looking for her gratitude. At that mont, he regretted deeply in his heart that he couldn’t find a reason to make her stay.
Ziyan smiled, “I’ve already contacted Nian’nian and the others, and booked a flight for tomorrow noon.”
Su Yuecheng nodded thoughtfully; he had thought she might leave soday, but hadn’t expected it so suddenly.
He and she, was it really over just like this? Would Dudu’s future, just be calling another man ‘Daddy’?
Just thinking about it, his heart felt unbearably blocked.
