Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Don’t Worry About the Engagent

He visits every day during al tis.

Now at the height of controversy, he didn’t bother to keep a distance, sitting directly next to Su Nian and said, “You don’t need to worry about the engagent.”

Su Nian almost spat out her food; Wei Lan was still there! Doesn’t he use his brain when talking?

She pondered carefully before answering, “President Shen, we should congratulate you on your engagent.”

“Is that insincere or sincere?”

“President Shen… our relationship is simply that of superior and subordinate, why would you need to consider what others think?”

...

“Is that so?” Shen Hanxiu always had a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, seeming not angry yet more than angry, and was about to say sothing when suddenly interrupted by a voice from behind—it was his assistant Yang Zichen.

Yang Zichen glanced at Su Nian next to him and cautiously said to Shen Hanxiu, “President Shen, there are new developnts over there.”

Concerned about Su Nian being present, Shen Hanxiu didn’t say much and got up to leave with Yang Zichen.

Lin Weilan watched the two n’s receding figures and exclaid, “I suddenly realized that President Shen’s assistant is quite handso!”

Thankfully she didn’t ask further, and Su Nian simply agreed, “I think so too.” Yang Zichen, looking gentle and refined, indeed wasn’t bad.

Su Nian thought she had diverted the topic successfully until Shen Hanxiu was far enough away, then she started gossiping, “Sister Niannian, do you actually have a relationship with President Shen? Why did he co to explain the engagent matter to you?”

With an expression of complete ignorance, Su Nian said blankly, “I don’t know… I’ve always felt that your President Shen is very odd, as if he and I are very close.”

“Sister Niannian, don’t lie to … Do you consider a friend?”

As Su Nian was feeling cornered not knowing what to say, Lin Weilan’s phone suddenly rang with a short tone, and she grabbed it excitedly, exclaiming, “There’s new news!”

She then opened her phone, sitting down next to Su Nian, “Wow, Su Yalan has co out to clarify!”

On the phone was a video just uploaded, it was a press conference.

Su Yalan wore an elegant long gown, exuding the aura of a socialite.

She appeared calm and smiley on screen, seemingly having prepared well for the dia’s questions.

“Ms. Su, is your marriage with Third Young Master Shen for real this ti?”

Her smile unchanged, Su Yalan rembered the past engagent and its cancellation, this ti she was determined not to let the tragedy repeat itself, “Of course, after six years, Ah Shu and I have thought it through very carefully.”

“Ms. Su, is the rumor about Third Young Master Shen having a secret marriage and child true? Does he have another woman?”

The dia’s words were sharp and hit the mark.

Su Yalan’s expression unchanged, her voice flowed lightly from the microphone, “That was just a misunderstanding, the woman in the pictures is my niece Su Nian…”

Lin Weilan gasped in shock at these words, “Su Nian?! Sister Nian’nian, is that you?”

Su Nian didn’t respond, instead she watched the video intently, never expecting this woman to drag her into it.

“My niece is a single mother, Ah Shu and I rely have deeper concern for her, there’s no such thing as secret marriage or child. Ah Shu only cares about my niece and grand-nephew.” She intended to make everyone know the nature of the relationship between Su Nian and Shen Hanxiu; even if they stubbornly stayed… the scandal of a niece seducing her uncle would be enough to ensure Su Nian couldn’t hold her head up high, and by then, she Su Yalan could fully play the victim, making Su Nian suffer the condemnation of the public.

Whichever path it took, it was no bad thing for Su Yalan.
