Chapter 265: Chapter 191: The Feeling of Having a Woman by Your Side is Quite Nice_2

Is it just a coincidence or… does he like her?

Before Wei Lan could ponder deeply, the microwave emitted a signal.

She took out the hot milk, poured it into a cup, and went upstairs.

Pushing the door open, he lay quietly in bed, his brows slightly furrowed, looking rather uncomfortable.

Wei Lan didn’t even want to wake him, but thinking of the headache he would feel upon waking, she still went to the bedside and sat down, waking him: “Special Assistant Yang…”

He might not have been asleep at all, as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at the cup of milk in Wei Lan’s hand, propping himself up to sit and reaching out to take it.

“Be careful, it’s hot.”

Yang Zichen smiled, a faint smile that was not easy to notice, and then tilted his head back to drink it down in one gulp.

Wei Lan’s eyes moved from the cup in his hand to his distinct and slender fingers holding the cup, and then to his adam’s apple as he swallowed the milk…

Wei Lan beca lost in thought; it turns out ‘sexy’ could also be used to describe a man…

Noticing that the milk in his cup was nearly gone, Wei Lan hurriedly averted her gaze. One can hide their gaze, but a racing heart can’t deceive oneself.

Wei Lan severely rebuked herself in her heart: Has she gone mad from desire for n? So much so that she can’t control her heartbeat upon seeing a good-looking one?

Yang Zichen handed her the cup, and with a smile towards her, Wei Lan was startled again, quickly looking away and taking the empty cup with both hands, pulling the blanket over him and avoiding his gaze as she said, “You should rest up now.”

He humd softly in response, obediently lying back down.

Wei Lan turned off the bedside lamp, walked out of the room, and for a long, long ti, her heartbeat didn’t settle, and even in her dreams, he was there…

The next day, Wei Lan got out of bed at 7:30 a.m. and hurried downstairs, thinking that Yang Zichen who had drunk too much last night hadn’t woken up, yet he sat downstairs looking spirited as usual, reading the newspaper, showing no signs of having been drunk the night before.

“You got up so early?”

“Yes, co have breakfast.”

Wei Lan walked over, and Dingding and Dangdang imdiately ran over to circle around her feet.

Wei Lan sat down, her smile sowhat unnatural: “Does your head hurt?”

Yang Zichen shook his head and handed her a sandwich and milk: “Thanks to your milk last night.”

Wei Lan shook her head and smiled embarrassedly, then took a bite of the sandwich, the taste as delicious as ever.

“Last night, did you co into my room?”

Wei Lan was taken aback, thinking he was dead asleep; turns out he was aware.

“I just ca over to check… if you had kicked off your blanket, I tend to do that when I’ve had too much to drink… I didn’t want you to catch cold.”

After saying that, she cautiously observed Yang Zichen’s expression, afraid he might dislike others entering his room.

“What a good woman you are; your ex-husband is truly unfortunate.”

“Huh?”

His voice was so low that Wei Lan didn’t hear him clearly, she caught the gist of it but couldn’t believe her ears, or rather, she couldn’t believe that such words would co from Yang Zichen.

“It’s nothing, eat up, you’ll be late.”

Wei Lan didn’t want to dwell on what he just said, for now, she was struggling to control her heart and her wildly imaginative mind.

Over at Jinxiu Garden, Su Nian was also all dressed up and ready for her first day of work.

The kids hadn’t reached the start of school yet, Su Zhen was still sleeping, and Su Bao got up even earlier than Su Nian.

After having breakfast with Jin Qiu, Su Nian prepared to head out together.

“There’s breakfast in the microwave; heat it up for your sister when she wakes up,” Su Nian instructed Su Bao.

“Okay.”

Since returning from the United Kingdom, Su Zhen was still angry with her; she hadn’t spoken two sentences to her since she ca back. Whatever Su Nian asked her to do, she would do the opposite out of spite. Su Nian was helpless.

Jin Qiu was going to their company for a job interview, so she rode with Su Nian.

Jin Qiu started complaining in the car again: “Nian’nian, I really can’t take it anymore, if I don’t change jobs I think I’ll go crazy.”

“Is that person still sending you ssages?”

“Yes! And I think he’s stalking ! He knows my na, and sotis when I go out to play, he brings up that place’s na and asks if I had fun there! God, it scares to death!”

“No way, stalking you? Should we call the police?”

Jin Qiu frowned: “The person hasn’t done anything to ; calling the police probably won’t do much. The police won’t go and arrest him to lock him up for ten years or so, right?”

Su Nian carefully reversed out of the garage before asking, “Then what do you plan to do?”

“I’m thinking… to et him!”

“Ah? How dangerous! Shall I go with you?”

Jin Qiu smiled: “No need, I have a plan. I think the reason he sends ssages is to get to go to him, but the places he picks always feel unsafe to .”

“So what’s your plan?”

Jin Qiu grinned: “Hehe, to invite him to People’s Square, right? There’s a police station nearby, and with a lot of people around, he can’t do much.”

“Still, be careful. I’ll co with you after work in the evening.”

“Are you silly? The evening is so unsafe? I’ll go at noon!”

Su Nian laughed: “You’re right, even if soone tried to rob you, you’re not one to be easily beaten.”

Jin Qiu gave her a sidelong glance, playfully cooing: “Annoying! I’m not that rough!”

Upon arriving at the company, Su Nian first took Jin Qiu to the HR departnt, and the interview took almost half an hour.

Jin Qiu ca out cursing: “Damn, that made so nervous!”

“Do you think you stand a chance?”

Jin Qiu shook her head: “I don’t think so; after all, I have no work experience, and the middle-aged person who went in with looked much steadier than .” Then she gave Su Nian a mischievous look: “My dear Nian’nian, for the sake of my happiness in the second half of my life, if I don’t get the job, you’ll have to seduce Third Young Master Shen! With sothing so trivial, you’d definitely make it happen.”

Bringing up that man, Su Nian pretended to be nonchalant, jokingly saying, “Are we the kind of people who take the crooked path? Have confidence! You are, after all, a semi-scholar!”

“Stop joking; you have to sort this out for , whatever ans you use. I’m off! Go to work.”

“Okay, be careful! You’re a girl on your own!”

“I know! I’m off to et the freak!”
