Chapter 249: Chapter 180 Only Feelings for You
Yang Zichen looked up at her, “What are you cooking?” Actually, he was the first person to see her Weibo post but didn’t dare to comnt.
“Cooking… noodles!” Wei Lan said while she walked over to tidy up her shoes that she had taken off haphazardly, and then respectfully like a maid, “Special Assistant Yang, weren’t you on a business trip? How co you’re back already?”
“The work was finished ahead of schedule.”
It was then that Wei Lan noticed the adorable little creature at his feet, squatted down and asked, “Eh? Where did this little cat co from?”
Yang Zichen observed her expression, she seed to like it, which set his mind at ease.
He naturally wouldn’t tell her that he bought the little cat because he heard her say she was scared alone at ho, and he ca across a pet shop.
Concealing all his emotions, Yang Zichen said indifferently, “Found it on the roadside.”
Wei Lan picked up the little cat, which might be just two months old, shy around strangers, and wearing a little bell on its neck which jingled adorably whenever it moved, and its white fur was glossy, “Such a beautiful little cat, doesn’t seem like a foundling? Special Assistant Yang, you didn’t mistake soone else’s pet for a stray and bring it ho, did you?”
Yang Zichen calmly corrected himself, “I got it from a friend’s house.”
Only then did Wei Lan believe him, hugging the little cat and not letting go, “So cute!”
Yang Zichen walked towards the kitchen, Wei Lan sluggishly followed. She really didn’t want him to see her eating instant noodles, but couldn’t avoid it, “Is this what you’re eating?”
Wei Lan nodded awkwardly; feeling embarrassed about being so lazy as a woman.
“Just eating sothing simple since I’m alone…”
Yang Zichen put the instant noodles aside, rolled up his sleeves, opened the refrigerator, and took out so ingredients, “Won should treat themselves better.”
With a remorseful look, Wei Lan stood by his side. She naturally wanted to treat herself better, but laziness trumped convenience.
Watching Yang Zichen’s back as he cooked, Wei Lan’s mind wandered slightly.
This man, who looks handso at work, while cooking, while talking, while silent, smiling, or not smiling, was really… charming.
Wei Lan shook her head! She’s swooning again! She had promised herself to find soone plain-looking!
Seeing that she couldn’t be of any help, Wei Lan turned around holding the little cat, and soon, the fragrance of the food filled the room, making her think that the person living with Special Assistant Yang must be very happy.
Hearing the sound of food being plated, Wei Lan put down the little cat to help in the kitchen, as the reserved creature eventually got familiar with Wei Lan and followed her.
When the food was served, Wei Lan couldn’t wait to start eating. In front of Yang Zichen, she had no need to maintain her image nor pretend to eat like a lady, hungrily gobbling down her al.
The man across the table ate gracefully, watching the woman’s eating, his own appetite improved.
When she was almost full, Wei Lan asked, “Special Assistant Yang… about my matter, is it sowhat troubleso?”
Yang Zichen paused, quickly realizing what she was referring to, “Not troubleso, it can be resolved tomorrow.”
“Then… I can go back tomorrow, right?”
Yang Zichen silently considered, “Wait another couple of days.” He didn’t want to part so soon.
Although Wei Lan didn’t understand why she needed to wait two more days, and he did not provide a reason, she obediently responded “Oh,” always feeling that Special Assistant Yang had his reasons and she had better follow his arrangents.
The little cat rubbed against her feet, Wei Lan bent down to feed it a bite of the al, but the picky little fellow sniffed and didn’t open its mouth.
“Special Assistant Yang, shall we go buy so cat food later?”
“Mhm.” He didn’t bother to correct her informal address; he liked her comfortable deanor.
After dinner, the two went out, not by car, but walking along a scenic path.
Holding the little cat, Wei Lan couldn’t help but exclaim, “It’s really cold, I heard it’s going to snow tomorrow.”
Wei Lan was about to say sothing else when she saw his hand reach out, thinking he was about to do sothing, but watched him pull up her jacket’s zipper, “If it’s cold, wear more.”
His action was very natural, but Wei Lan blushed uncomfortably, looked down at the collar over her chin, and continued walking, putting the little cat into her outer coat pocket, worried about it getting cold.
“Walk inside, there are too many cars outside.”
“Oh.” Being with him, Wei Lan felt like a little maid following her young master; whatever the young master said was command.
They soon arrived at the pet store, where the clerk greeted Yang Zichen warmly, “Sir, do you need anything else?”
The clerk had just been wondering why, after buying the pet, he dismissed the recomnded cat food and cat bed without a second glance.
Curious, Wei Lan surveyed the pet store, not realizing the implication in the clerk’s words.
Yang Zichen simply humd indifferently, following behind Wei Lan.
The store was playing the song “Only Feelings for You,” and Yang Zichen felt that his mood was probably just like that; even though this woman was slow and clumsy, he only had feelings for her.
“This bed looks so comfortable…” Yang Zichen heard Wei Lan whisper: “Wow! More than five thousand!” An amount equalling her monthly salary!
The clerk then approached and said, “Buy a golden retriever, and we’ll give you a set of this for free.”
“But…”
Before Wei Lan could finish, Yang Zichen spoke up, “Let’s buy it.”
The clerk was overjoyed and began promoting the Golden Retriever puppies, “Don’t worry about the pedigree, they are definitely purebred! Golden Retrievers are very gentle, even fine if you have kids at ho.”
Wei Lan imdiately explained, “Ah? I don’t have any children!”
However, the staff mber didn’t grasp Wei Lan’s explanation and continued, “That’s okay if you plan to have children later. Golden Retrievers are just big in size, but they are actually very cute.”
“But Golden Retrievers are quite expensive…”
Before she finished speaking, Yang Zichen handed over a card and casually pointed at one in the cage, saying, “Let’s take this one.”
The staff mber joyfully went to place the order, and Wei Lan was taken aback by his lavish spending for a mont, “Special Assistant Yang…how do we raise it when we bring it back?”
“As long as it has food, it won’t starve.”
Wei Lan: “…” It turns out Special Assistant Yang also has his humorous monts, though it’s a bit dry…
“Sister Zhang, Sister Zhang! Can you check what happened to my baby?!” Just as they were paying, a woman’s anxious voice rose.
Sister Zhang from the clinic inside ca out, “Oh, it’s Wanwan, what happened?”
Wei Lan turned her head, only to see Zheng Shiwan carrying a Teddy and behind her stood Jing Zan.
Wei Lan glanced over quickly then hurriedly lowered her head, and obviously, Zheng Shiwan and Jing Zan had already seen her.
Yang Zichen turned his head to look at Jing Zan, then, while signing the receipt, he moved to Wei Lan’s other side and shielded her body with his own, his silent gesture carried a show of defiance that only n understand, almost as saying, “This is my woman, others should not even look.”
Knowing that Jing Zan had been looking for Lin Weilan for so ti, Zheng Shiwan tightly grasped Jing Zan’s arm and dragged him towards the clinic inside.
Only after the two had passed did Wei Lan look up again.
Her emotions could not help but fluctuate.
“Let’s go.” Yang Zichen acted as if nothing had happened, his hand lightly resting on Wei Lan’s back, leading her away.
On the way back, her mood was visibly lower, holding the little cat without saying a word.
Although she felt sowhat strange, she was also thankful that the marriage had ended, and glad that upon eting again, both chose to pretend to be strangers.
Yang Zichen was contemplating how to start a conversation, yet afraid that his lack of eloquence might only increase the awkwardness in her heart.
All he could hear were the wind and the bells on the little cat’s neck.
Yang Zichen thought she was sulking, but she suddenly raised her head to ask him, “Special Assistant Yang, is it okay if the little cat is nad Dingding and the little dog Dangdang?”
Yang Zichen: “…”
At last, she scratched her head in distress, “That seems a bit hasty, do you have any better ideas?”
“Ding Ding Dang Dang… sounds good.”
With Yang Zichen’s approval, Wei Lan felt imdiately that the nas were classy.
“Then let’s na them Ding Ding Dang Dang. But Special Assistant Yang, I’m leaving in a couple of days, what if you go on a business trip?”
Yang Zichen had already figured out a solution: “If I have to go away, you can drop by when you have ti, just keep a key.”
Wei Lan thought to herself, does Special Assistant Yang trust her that much? Isn’t he afraid that she might take sothing from his house?
“But I’ve never raised pets before…”
His response was the sa, “As long as they’re not starving.” Actually, he wasn’t particularly fond of cats and dogs.
“Then if you go on a business trip, just let know, and I’ll co over after work to feed them.”
“Okay.”
At last, there was a slight connection between them.
At Jinxiu Garden, after having dinner, Su Nian went to her room. Tomorrow being the weekend, the child didn’t have school and she didn’t have work, so she didn’t rush her child to sleep.
Taking advantage of Mom’s absence, Su Zhen watched Su Bao make a phone call inside the room, then ran to the balcony and pressed that little button, but even after waiting a long ti, no one appeared on the opposite balcony.
Su Zhen then stood on tiptoe and stretched her neck, quietly calling, “Uncle Shen!”
After calling a few tis with no response, she hurried back inside and grabbed her mobile phone and dialed the number.
On the other end, Shen Hanxiu was sitting in his office buried in docunts, and hearing his daughter’s voice when tired was satisfying; his voice was gentle, “What is it?”
“Uncle Shen, you’re not at ho?”
Shen Hanxiu checked the ti, originally planning to pull an all-nighter, but he found himself missing his children and that woman.
“I’ll be ho soon.”
“Okay, I have a secret to tell Uncle Shen.”
After hanging up, Su Zhen pretended to sit on the sofa watching TV. Once she received Shen Hanxiu’s ssage of arrival, she ran upstairs to tell Mom, “Mom, I’m going to play with Uncle Liang.”
Su Nian withdrew her distracted gaze from the window and looked at her daughter in her little bear pajamas, “Uncle Liang is already asleep.”
But the little one, disobedient, turned around to act: “No, I just called Uncle Liang, I want to go play squirrels with him.”
Su Nian thought Liang Yizhou hadn’t been back for a long ti, he’s quite good at entertaining children, probably Su Zhen missed him, she didn’t stop her further.
Su Zhen ran out the door and knocked on the neighboring room’s door…
