Chapter 229: Chapter 168 Children Need a Father_2
“Will it be inconvenient?”
“If you trust , just follow with peace of mind.” He skillfully steered the wheel without even glancing at her, yet it stirred sothing unusual in Wei Lan’s heart.
Although she had been married to Jing Zan, her experience with n was still pitifully limited.
There had been too many things happening, and her heart was tired; it would be nice to have a warm place to rest.
The car stopped right outside the house.
“We’re here.”
Wei Lan, who was dozy, ca to her senses and pushed the car door open while looking around.
The quiet courtyard was surrounded by detached villas, not looking too deserted. If she rembered correctly, this should be Yijing Garden, right?
Thinking of how wealthy Shen Hanxiu was, it wasn’t surprising that his personal assistant could afford such a big villa here.
Seeing him open the door, Wei Lan hurriedly followed inside. Before she had ti to take in the decor, a pair of n’s slippers was placed at her feet: “Just make do with these for now.”
“Oh, thank you.” She looked around the room, feeling ashad of its cleanliness even as a girl.
Standing awkwardly in the living room, she watched him go upstairs and thought he would just leave her there, but the next minute, she heard footsteps descending.
He approached her and handed her a white bathrobe: “Take a hot shower and rest, it’s getting late. Walk straight to the bathroom, and just call if you need anything.”
“Okay…”
She filled the tub with hot water and lay down in it, feeling imdiately more relaxed.
Sister Niannian got divorced and still led a happy life with two children, and Qiuqiu faced such things at her wedding but still managed to let go. It’s just a divorce, after all, no big deal.
She even felt grateful for this marriage, which had made her see clearly the man she had been obsessing over. At least she could now let go of Jing Zan.
After the bath, the sky outside was already brightening.
“You can rest in this room. Do you want sothing to eat?”
Wei Lan shook her head quickly, not wanting to trouble him anymore.
Yang Zichen didn’t dare to overstep bounds, even if she was just wearing a robe, and from his angle, he could see the beautiful curve of her figure, he just took a look and then helped her close the door.
Wei Lan locked the door from the inside before shalessly examining the room’s furnishings. The room was white and looked comfortable.
But this room seed like it was frequently used by him; there was even a bottle of perfu on the nightstand, which Wei Lan bent over to sll, reminiscent of the fresh scent on his clothes.
She had expected a man like him to prefer cooler colors, yet the room seed quite holy.
Her gaze fell upon the clock on the wall, it was almost six o’clock, and in two hours, she would have nothing to do with Jing Zan…
Dawn spread over Hai City’s sky. Shen Han, looking at the ti, pushed open Su Nian’s room door.
She was still sound asleep inside, having only slept for three hours last night after catching a flight, a re third of her normal sleep.
Shen Han took out a paper bag from the closet.
The slight noise woke the woman in the bed.
Worried about the parent-teacher eting, Su Nian hadn’t slept deeply and saw Shen Han approaching when she opened her eyes.
Still blurry about whether it was reality or a dream, she glanced outside the window. It was still pitch-black, so it must be a dream.
Shen Han knew she wasn’t fully awake by the adorably dazed way she looked at him, so he just threw the bag at her: “Do you want to skip your daughter’s parent-teacher eting?”
That woman finally snapped out of her grogginess, only reacting after Shen Han had left the room.
Did he an that he had agreed to go to the parent-teacher eting?
Without ti to doubt, she picked up the bag he’d thrown, hurriedly changed clothes, washed up, and left. He was already dressed neatly, and he was wearing a wool coat similar to the one on her…
Su Nian thought to herself that all wool coats look similar, it must be a coincidence.
Short on ti, they rushed to the airport without eating, and as soon as the car stopped, the announcent for boarding ca through the speakers.
Shen Han moved briskly, and Su Nian had to run to catch up, panting.
He never waited for her, nor did he look back to see if she was following. Once on the plane, he didn’t ask if she wanted to eat.
Well, he was such a proud man; after hearing those heartless words from her, he was the last person to want to bother with her!
Su Nian thought she’d endure it, there’d be food after landing. However, halfway through the flight, her stomach betrayed her by growling.
She felt embarrassed and was sure he heard it.
“Um… are you hungry?” Su Nian asked him first.
Shen Han gave her a stern look, maintaining a serious face, but thought to himself: Good, she’s starting to speak up.
Without waiting for his reply, a flight attendant ca by, and Su Nian hurriedly called out: “Please bring so breakfast, thank you…” then turned to ask Shen Han again: “Do you want any?”
The man coldly tossed out two words: “Not hungry.”
Su Nian pursed her lips, confirming she only needed one portion, and then quietly and carefully ate, afraid that any louder chewing might upset the ‘gramps’ sitting beside her.
What she didn’t know was that the ‘gramps’ was not focused on the newspaper at all; his attention was entirely on the sound of her eating.
Full from eating, sleepiness kicked in. Su Nian, lacking sleep, dozed off against the window.
The plane landed just at eight, in ti for her children’s parent-teacher eting.
The car hadn’t stopped yet when Su Nian saw Su Zhen leading Su Bao waiting expectantly at the school gate. Su Bao looked indifferent, as if it made no difference whether a parent ca or not, while Su Zhen seed anxious, afraid that if she didn’t see Su Nian soon, the little girl might burst into tears at the gate.
Shen Han also saw the two children imdiately, both clad in the sa black padded jackets, looking well-behaved, and Su Zhen’s untidy ponytail was probably done by Su Bao.
Such adorable children, without a complete family, was truly regrettable.
Turning to see Su Nian opening the car door, Shen Han suddenly spoke up, abruptly stating: “Children need a father.”
It wasn’t a discussion, nor a question, but a simple statent, carrying an air of irrefutable command.
