Chapter 185: Chapter 136: Kill and You’ll Be Free
The blade’s edge, less than a centiter from his chest…
He was not the slightest bit afraid, but Ziyan was so terrified that tears fell constantly, shaking her head trying to move the knife away.
“Kill , and you’ll be free,” he said calmly.
Ziyan’s mouth gaped open, too anxious to speak, failing to make any sound, with only her lip shape forming: No…
As long as he was willing to let go, everyone could live well.
“Just now, you were ready to stab , and now you can’t bear to?”
Seeing the knife tremble in front of his chest, where the slightest mistake could make it pierce through, Ziyan was so frightened she didn’t dare to speak or make any sudden moves.
Yet, he smiled eerily, gripping her hand harder: “Would it be okay if I let you go?”
Watching her stunned expression, he too lost himself montarily; in their two years of marriage, he had never really taken in her beauty.
She wasn’t the annoying type of girl, quietly doing her own thing, never inquiring about his affairs.
He originally thought what he needed was a woman like this, who would turn a blind eye to his reckless ways.
But when she ignored him, coming and going with other won, he was so infuriated, hoping she would be jealous, hoping she would care about him, hoping she would rember him.
He didn’t know if that was love; no one had ever loved him, and he had never loved anyone. The only woman he cared about desperately avoided him, so his world held no romantic love, only conquest.
With the stubborn Ziyan, he chose to inflict harm, to wear down her edges, yet it pained his own heart.
Maybe love had co long ago, only he didn’t recognize that strange sensation.
“I’m giving you freedom.”
After a long silence, his voice rose softly.
Ziyan hadn’t yet understood his aning, just felt her hand being pulled, pushed towards him…
The vivid red liquid soaked his white shirt; he held her hand, his expression as usual, a twisted smile at the corner of his mouth: “I think you should be satisfied with this year’s birthday gift, right? After all, it’s what you wanted…”
Ziyan cried, frantically trying to pull the knife out and simultaneously afraid to, so helpless it was heartrending.
Her small hands covered his wound as if she could stop the bleeding that way.
Seeing her cry and panic for him for the first ti, Tang Shaosheng leaned slowly on her shoulder, grasping her blood-soaked hand: “Just pretend you didn’t see anything. Once my blood runs dry, you’ll be free.”
No sooner had Tang Shaosheng finished speaking than she hurriedly got up, laid him on the bed, and dashed to the door.
Watching her retreating back, Tang Shaosheng curled his lips faintly.
She cried so bitterly, cried because he was hurt…
Ziyan couldn’t shout “Help” in the hallway, and at that mont, there was no one in the corridor.
In a panic, she rembered Su Nian saying she lived next door and to find her if there was trouble.
She knocked on the neighbor’s door without hesitation, pounding urgently.
In the room, Su Nian was having a struggle with Shen Hanxiu, and hearing the knocking was like seeing a lifeline: “Soone’s there! Quick, open the door!”
Shen Hanxiu restrained her and said, “As long as they can’t co in, it’s fine.”
Su Nian, hearing the desperate knocking and the absence of a voice, imdiately thought of the mute Ziyan.
“It must be Yanyan!”
Shen Hanxiu glared at her and said, “Su Nian, is this a trick you’ve already thought of? You two must have planned this.”
Why knock at this exact ti?
“No! It’s really an ergency! I need to check.”
Seeing Su Nian’s earnest deanor, Shen Hanxiu furrowed his brow, then muffled a kiss; Su Nian turned her head to scold him, and he finally released her, but his face clearly showed, “I’m in a bad mood.”
Su Nian straightened the falling strap of her nightgown and imdiately went out the door.
It was indeed Ziyan who was knocking; she cried inconsolably, and upon seeing the blood on her hands as she lowered her head, Su Nian anxiously asked: “What happened? Where are you hurt? Is it Tang Shaosheng again?!”
Ziyan shook her head, tears falling rapidly, gesturing to Su Nian: “Hurry, call a doctor… I… I killed soone…”
Su Nian’s eyes widened, wondering if her misunderstanding of sign language had misconstrued Ziyan’s gestures.
Ziyan killing soone? That was more horrifying and unthinkable than a horror film.
Despite her confusion, the sight of Ziyan’s bloodied hand made it clear soone was injured.
She imdiately ran to a nearby room, knocking on the door: “Uncle Cheng! Uncle Cheng, please co quickly.”
The commotion in the hallway slowly drew people out of their rooms.
