Robert ran until he got to his house. And by the ti he was already ho, the whole place had already turned quiet and the lights were out, which ant that both his wife and the children were already sleeping.
Wiping his lips one more ti to get rid of Seraphina’s scent as if he entered the room, Emma would imdiately find out about it.
Quickly, he got inside and shook Emma awake.
"What happened?" Emma’s question slurred, her eyes half closed from being sleepy. "Get the children, pack our bags too. We need to leave from here at this instant." He left her side to go pull out their bags and started throwing so of their clothes inside.
Emma’s eyes imdiately widened at what she’d just heard. "W-what are you saying?" She asked confusedly. "And where are we going?"
"I will explain later, but please get up, wake up the kids, and pack their bags. We need to leave here as soon as possible," he repeated as he continued to throw clothes inside the bag with urgency.
Emma, still confused by Robert’s action, decided to trust her husband and do as he said. She woke up the boys and started packing their bags. In less than ten minutes, they were done and Robert pulled the bags outside.
They were light since it was only a few pieces of clothes that were inside so that their journey would be easy.
Robert locked the door to the house after everyone was outside but before that, he left the lights on.
Quickly, he held out his two hands for the boys to grab and they started leaving that area. He would have hurried them to walk faster but he didn’t want to instill more fear in them than he’d already done.
Emma still looked at Robert with confusion and waited for him to start explaining what was happening, but from the looks of things, he didn’t seem to want to explain soon. After growing impatient, she parted her lips and questioned.
"Can you explain to why we are leaving our ho and going to God knows where?"
"I will explain everything to you as soon as we get to our destination," Robert replied to her just as quickly as those questions spilled out from her mouth. He glanced towards the boys who were looking at them with questions in their eyes since they would also like to know why they were leaving their ho all of a sudden, unannounced before his eyes settled back on Emma and she imdiately understood what they were trying to say.
The reason is too serious for the boys to hear and they would talk later.
Nodding, she said, "Alright, but at least, tell where we are going to."
"To Beatrice’s house. We are going to stay there until further notice but it’s only temporary," he replied.
Emma gave him a look before she nodded again and they started walking again.
The boys grew tired of walking for so long and Robert had to carry them until they arrived at their destination safely without being caught by Francis or by one of his n.
—
Back at their main house, a big truck filled with n arrived in front of it with full force. The doors of the car opened and n poured out of it like water.
"Go!" Francis ordered with an angry face. "Go look for him and when you do, bring him to . He needs to pay for raping my girlfriend!" He yelled out loud.
Walking up to the door, they discovered that it was locked but from how chopped the wooden door was, they ended up banging it open without breaking a single ounce of sweat.
After a few minutes passed, they ca back empty-handed. "Where are they?" Francis growled.
"They are not inside, boss. He must have escaped with his family before we arrived here." One of the n replied.
Out of anger, Francis kicked an empty can that was lying on the ground away and growled even more.
"Are you sure you searched properly?" He questioned and the n nodded in unison. Francis didn’t believe them and walked inside to search for himself.
He searched every nook and cranny, literally turning the house upside down, and nearly burst out of anger when he arrived at the sa result as his n.
When he was about to step out of the house, he stepped on a piece of glass but luckily for him, his shoe was too thick for the glass to pierce his leg. Looking down, he found the picture of a woman who must be Robert’s wife, he thought.
’She’s beautiful,’ he thought to himself.
"Another plan!" He yelled out loud to gain the attention of his n. "Look for this woman, find her, and bring her to ." Everyone nodded again before they packed themselves back inside the truck. "Drive around this area. They must still be here sowhere. Robert doesn’t have a car so if he’s walking, they must not have gone too far from here."
The driver listened and started driving around the area and asked anyone they saw if they’d seen Robert around but all the answers they got was a no reply which only frustrated Francis to the core.
"He thinks he’s smart but let’s see if he’s going to be able to hide forever," he mumbled to himself. "I want all of you to split up and look for him. Like I said, it shouldn’t take too long to find him. Robert doesn’t have any resources or power so finding him shouldn’t take too long," he added.
"We will find him boss," one of the n promised with a salute.
They continued their search until late and night before they finally decided to rest for the night and continue for a few more hours.
Francis comforted Seraphina who had been crying since he left and coaxed her to sleep while she smirked against his chest.
