"Why are the three of you looking at like that? Did you think that everything that happened to your family was natural? I was behind everything," said Erika.
Felicia was about to bounce on Erika again but stopped herself when she rembered the plan that she had in store for her. After she gives that acid to Erika, the woman won’t live to say anything anymore.
As much as she was angry, she didn’t want to ruin everything. So instead of reacting too harshly, Felicia said, "I think I should get us so juice to quench our dry throats." She stood up from her chair and left for God knows where.
Erika stared at Felicia’s back with narrowed eyes. She’d just revealed that she was the one who was the cause of everything that had happened to her but the latter suggested drinking juice so that they could quench their dry throats. That was suspicious.
"For you to say everything you just said, it simply ans that you have no sha. Do you think that we were the reason you were treated the way you were treated? You were the one who brought the maltreatnt towards you and you know it. You could have chosen to not marry Adrain but of course, you were in love," Juliet mocked Erika.
"I should be ashad indeed," Erika replied with a shrug. "I should be ashad because I let my eyes off you people and here you are, in front of , not suffering as I thought you would be. But I think that Mary and Felicia suffered a little, right Mary? Please narrate how your stay in the prison was. Did it make you reflect on your cris although I doubt it did."
Mary clenched her fist angrily. A little? She suffered a lot in that prison and Erika called it little. She was suffering for her daughter-in-law with the thought that she was a pure person but sadly, she was wrong.
"You don’t know what I’ve been through in jail," Mary retorted with gritted teeth. How could a high-class woman like her go to prison? It had ruined her image and status. If she was starting to look back now, she status has reduced drastically.
"I don’t want to know anything about that but I want you to know that you will be going there soon. You escaped from prison and for what? So that you can take revenge on ?" Erika questioned Mary with a raised eyebrow.
How did she know about that? Mary wondered.
"Don’t give that look. That’s what you plan since you must be very angry with for putting you in jail for killing Grandma Elizabeth. I swore that I would make you rot in prison so don’t think that just because you’ve escaped I won’t put you back there," Erika threatened Mary with a low voice which sent shivers down the old woman’s spine. That threat made the hairs on her back stand on their ends. When Erika saw Mary’s scared expression, she was satisfied.
Felicia walked inside the library with the maid following behind her with a tray filled with glasses of what seed like strawberry drink. She strided towards Erika, grabbed a glass from the tray and stretched the glass towards her. "Have a glass Erika," she offered.
Erika stared at Felicia for 5 seconds before she took the glass and settled it by her side. The maid served the rest of their glasses and left from there.
"Aren’t you going to drink your juice, Erika? It’s very tasty," Felicia tried to persuade Erika into drinking the juice but the latter didn’t make any attempt to lift it.
Just drink the damn juice and die already, Felicia scread in her mind. She had thought of actually pouring the acid on Erika’s face and ruining it the sa way hers was ruined but after Erika revealed that she was the one that orchestrated everything that had been happening to her a year ago, she deserved to die. She wanted to get rid of Erika completely. She didn’t care if Adrian killed her also, she was going to get rid of Erika and no one was going to stop her. All Erika needed to do was drink the juice that Felicia had handed over to her and that was the end for her. Felicia jubilated internally.
"What if you added sothing to it?" Erika suspected. She saw a glint of fear pass through Felicia’s eyes and that was more than enough to know that what she suspected was right. Sothing was in the juice.
"Why would you think of such a thing? Why would I poison you?" Felicia tried to convince Erika but of course, she wasn’t buying it.
"You and I both know that you want to, so why should I drink this juice when I doubt that it could be my last?" Erika questioned her back. Before she added, she pushed the glass further away from her. "If you are so sure that you didn’t put anything inside it, why don’t you take a sip first?"
"I don’t need to take any sip first since the maid was the one that poured the juice herself and I didn’t partake in anything. Co on Erika, did you think that I would kill you? Just because I’m angry with you doesn’t an that I’m that heartless to want to kill you," Felicia replied with a smile that stretched to the cheeks, making her look like a joker. "Instead, we can call the maid who poured the juice herself and have taste it," she suggested.
"Iza," Erika called the maid that was standing outside the library, waiting for any orders from either one of the won. As soon as she heard her na being called, she imdiately went inside and bowed respectfully. "Were you the one that poured the juice in the glasses?" Erika questioned the maid.
The maid nodded, "Yes mam."
"See Erika, I don’t know why you are acting so uptight. I’m not a murderer," said the woman who aborted so many babies that her womb turned infertile at so point.
