Mary smiled when Juliet finally ca close to her with careful steps.
"Don’t listen to what they are saying okay? It didn’t happen like that", Mary tried to convince her daughter.
"Did you really kill grandma?" Juliet directly asked.
Without thinking, Mary imdiately replied,
"Yes I did sweetie but rember, I only did it for you", she tried to cup Juliet’s face but the girl took a step back. Mary gave a sad smile before adding, "I only did it so that I can give you a better future."
"You are a MONSTER!!" Juliet yelled at her with tears in her eyes. "So now that you are a murderer, is this the kind of life you want to give ?"
"No sweetie but I will try to get out of here so that we can be together okay", Mary assured as tears rolled down from her eyes.
She couldn’t stop saying the truth and she knew that it would only put her in more trouble.
Adam’s phone rang and he picked it up. As soon as he heard what the caller said, he collapsed on the ground.
Adrain quickly rushed his father to the hospital. He had no idea about what his father might have heard from the caller but it definitely wasn’t good news.
Mary was locked up in jail and Juliet followed Adrian to the hospital.
The people who recorded the scene that took place at the police station had already uploaded the videos for the whole world to see.
At the hospital, Adrain and Juliet were both outside the hospital room waiting for the doctor who was examining their father to give them updates.
The sound of a woman’s heels clicking on the floor made them turn their heads to the source of the sound.
Felicia rushed towards Adrain and asked him,
"What happened?"
Adrain glared at her from head to toe.
"Where are you coming from?" He questioned her back. "I texted you almost an hour ago to co here and you are just arriving how?!"
"I was busy, okay. I was at the photoshoot", she quickly defended herself.
Adrain was about to question her again but Juliet interrupted them.
"Please this is not the ti and place to argue right now. Dad is in the ergency room and we don’t know what happened to him yet so can you both please postpone this to another ti?" She pleaded with joined hands and a worried face.
The arguing couple instantly kept quiet because after all, Juliet was right.
Adrain stared at Felicia because he didn’t believe her story but he would question her so other ti.
After waiting for so more minutes, the doctor ca out of the room. Imdiately, they surrounded him and started asking their questions.
"Doctor, what happened to my father?" Adrain asked first.
The doctor sighed first before replying, "You father had a heart attack and his body is not responding to the treatnt we are giving him".
"What does that an, Doctor?" Juliet questioned the doctor this ti with a frown.
"Mr Adam Hart slipped into a comatose state. His body system has refused to accept the drugs that can reduce his blood pressure so there has been no progress", the doctor replied with another sigh.
"What?" Juliet mumbled as tears rolled down from her eyes. She slumped on the hospital floor devastatingly.
"Doc, you have to do everything to get my father to wake", Adrain tried to persuade the doctor but the doctor raised his hands up to surrender.
"I am sorry Mr Hart but there is nothing I can do. The only thing we can do is to wait for him to wake up but I promise I will keep trying the dicines on him but I can’t guarantee that his body system would accept them. His heart and brain are too tense right now. Excuse ", the doctor explained the little he could about the patient and left them.
Felicia who had been listening to their conversation all this ti couldn’t believe that her father in law was in coma while her mother in law was in jail. The whole thing happened so fast.
Not knowing what to do at that mont, Adrain knelt down to try to comfort Juliet who was sobbing uncontrollably.
Suddenly a call ca on his phone, it was from his secretary from the office.
"What is it?!" He roared in anger which caused both Juliet and Felicia to flinch.
With the whole thing that had been happening, Adrian was not in his best mood to answer politely.
"S..sir, t...there is a problem at the c..pany. Please co over q...quickly", the secretary stuttered. She was also scared from the roar.
Adrain cut the call and got up ready to leave. When Felicia saw Adrain was about to leave, she quickly asked him,
"Where are you going?"
Without halting his steps, he replied, "To the company", and his back disappeared from their sight. He reached the parking lot and drove to the company.
"What is it?!" Adrain questioned as he barged into his own office, making his secretary flinch again.
"Sir, there is a problem," the secretary repeated but that made Adrain glare hard at her and she imdiately blurted out what the problem was. "Sir, we have lost so of our the employees who don’t want to work at the company anymore but that is not all. We have lost all the investors and they have also redrawn all their investnts from the company".
Adrain didn’t care about the employees because he can always get people to work for him. He didn’t even notice that the floors were nearly empty with no one in their cubicles. But his ears perked when he heard that the investors have all redrawn their investnt.
"Have you tried calling them and asking them what their reason was?" He questioned her impatiently.
"Yes sir?" The secretary quickly replied. "They said it was because of the news that has circulated the social dia".
Adrain frowned, "What news?"
