Su Hongxing’s heart tightened, realizing her movents were peculiar, she hurriedly withdrew her hand.
As she looked at Ye Qilan again, she found his eyes were empty, void of focus. He seed lost in thought, clearly absent-minded.
Ye Qilan’s mont of distraction was brief; he quickly returned to his normal state.
He gently placed her in the passenger seat, leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, and after completing a series of actions, took his place in the driver’s seat.
Su Hongxing felt restless. How did she end up in Ye Qilan’s car, and about to make an appearance with him?
Just as Su Hongxing was wrestling with her thoughts, Ye Qilan said to her, “Mianmian, help fasten my seatbelt.”
Su Hongxing silently scorned the request. She wasn’t obligated to help him fasten his seatbelt.
However, Ye Qilan’s calm gaze gave the impression that not helping him fasten his seatbelt would be an unforgivable act.
Therefore, she stepped forward as if bewitched and quickly fastened his seatbelt.
Better to do less than more, she was worried that after accompanying him now, he might demand too much of her later…
Fifteen minutes later, Ye Qilan parked the car in front of a hotel, got out first and then opened the car door for Su Hongxing.
The Ye Qilan of the past would never have been so gentlemanly as to open the car door for a lady, but now he was very polite. It seems people do change.
Su Hongxing stood motionless at the hotel entrance. Ye Qilan looked back at her and said, “This is a hotel I have acquired, with a permanent residence of my own. Tonight we will stay here.”
He then approached Su Hongxing and added, “You’re quite to my liking, and I don’t have a girlfriend right now. Why don’t you give us a try? If you think I’m right for you, let be your boyfriend, and you won’t have to work at The Red House anymore. If you think I’m not right for you, I won’t make things difficult for you. Co, let’s go upstairs.”
Su Hongxing didn’t know how to respond.
Seeing her indecision, Ye Qilan simply took her by the wrist and led her into the hotel.
The lobby manager was a beautiful, intelligent woman. She ca forward with a smile when she saw Ye Qilan.
However, upon seeing Su Hongxing, the manager’s smile froze on her face.
In these two years, never had any woman appeared by Ye Qilan’s side before. Today was the first ti, and this woman was both innocent and bewitchingly beautiful.
As a woman herself, seeing the woman before her made her feel ashad of her inferiority.
Spotting jealousy in the lobby manager’s eyes, Su Hongxing readjusted the man’s coat she wore, and avoided looking at the manager.
“Mr. Ye, this way please.” The experienced lobby manager quickly composed herself and led the way.
Ye Qilan did not spare much of a glance at the lobby manager, but instead led Su Hongxing into the elevator that led directly to the presidential suite.
Upon entering the suite, Ye Qilan called room service to prepare a set of won’s pajamas and a set of fresh clothes.
Su Hongxing stood in the middle of the room, her gaze drifting towards the bustling night scene outside the window.
After finishing his call, Ye Qilan began attending to his matters. He made several phone calls. She pricked her ears to eavesdrop and gathered that Ye Qilan seed to be travelling on a business trip to France the next morning.
She breathed a sigh of relief. Didn’t that an that Ye Qilan wouldn’t have ti to waste on her tomorrow?
Soon, the room service personnel arrived with the sleepwear and fresh clothing.
“I still have work that I’ll probably be busy with till midnight. Go and get washed up, rest early after you’re done.” Ye Qilan said, as he brewed himself a cup of coffee.
Su Hongxing nodded absent-mindedly, took the sleepwear, and went into the bathroom.
