Chapter 248: Everything You Have Belongs to _i
Su Hongxing felt a bit frustrated as she listened.
Jiang was her grandmother, what did he, Ye Qilan, have to do with this? Yet he calls her grandma so naturally.
Her head felt uncomfortable buried in his chest. She tried to push him away, but he only held her tighter, “Behave, let hold you a little longer.”
His voice sounded especially gentle and tender, a stark contrast from his normally cold authoritarian tone.
After standing in Ye Qilan’s arms for several minutes, she couldn’t take it anymore and made a sudden effort to break free, but ended up facing his affectionate gaze.
She hesitated slightly, avoiding his lingering gaze as she said, “First, let’s take my grandmother to the hospital.”
Why did the man before her eyes seem a bit different? Was it just her imagination?
On the way to Taicheng People’s Hospital, Su Hongxing was rather passive. Ye Qilan held her hand tightly and whenever she tried to pull away, he would simply tighten his grip.
What’s worse, he knew exactly how much force to use to keep her from feeling uncomfortable.
She glanced at Ye Qilan from ti to ti. The light in the car was dim, while the colorful neon light from outside constantly swept across his handso face, making him look charming and warm.
He seed like a stranger to her, but yet disturbingly familiar at the sa ti, causing her heart to race…
“You…” Su Hongxing found her words caught in her throat.
Ye Qilan turned his eyes towards her, softly asking, “What’s wrong?”
Su Hongxing turned away in confusion, “Nothing.”
“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to your grandmother, I won’t let anything happen to her either.” Ye Qilan thought she was worried about the severity of her grandmother’s injury and comforted her.
Su Hongxing paused, then reminded him, “She’s my grandmother, not yours.”
Wouldn’t it be less confusing if he didn’t use ‘grandmother’ so naturally? Soone might think she’s his grandmother.
Ye Qilan laughed in a deep voice. His laughter echoed in the narrow space, causing Su Hongxing’s eardrums to hurt.
“What’s so funny?!” Su Hongxing was annoyed. Wasn’t what she said right?
“What’s yours is mine, everything that belongs to you, belongs to .” Ye Qilan pinched her nose playfully, his fingers gently scratching the palm of her hand.
His gestures made her heart pound, and she swiftly withdrew her hand…
Ye Qilan squinted at Su Hongxing, watching her with a deep and intense gaze,
” What’ s wrong now?”
Then, he grabbed her hand back again.
Su Hongxing responded in a low voice, lookingout of the window, “We’re moving too slow. Driver, speed up!”
Bai Chen, treated as just a driver, felt a little dejected. He was, after all, a special assistant; couldn’t Su Hongxing be a bit more considerate towards him?
But considering how Su Hongxing seed to despise Ye Qilan, Bai Chen considered himself lucky not to have been tossed out of the car.
When they arrived at Taicheng People’s Hospital, Jiang was quickly surrounded by a group of specialist doctors.
As Su Hongxing observed from distance, she deeply felt the benefits of having power and influence. No wonder many people would fight bloody battles for the chance to climb higher in status.
After a thorough two-hour examination, it was determined that Jiang’s left leg needed surgery again. Due to her frail condition, she would need to rest for several days before she could have the operation.
Although her other injuries were serious, they were treatable.
Upon receiving the dical report, Su Hongxing breathed a sigh of relief. Just as she turned around, she saw Ye Qilan standing quietly behind her.
His eyes were as dark as ink, staring intently at her as if she were his prey.
Su Hongxing frowned slightly and was about to take a closer look, only to find Ye Qilan had resud his usual nonchalant expression.
It seed like what she had seen earlier was just a fignt of her imagination…
