When Su Hongxing heard the na of the village, she seed hesitant to speak. She hadn’t known there was such a place dostically; it seed less like a random choice by Xiao Ji and more intentional.
"I’ve read online about so curious stories concerning Rebirth Village. So villagers there once claid to be reincarnated, bringing mories from their past lives. They rembered everything quite clearly, including many details. The village got its na from these accounts, but later on many villagers moved away, so even fewer people know about Rebirth Village now..."
Su Hongxing looked at Xiao Ji with a dazed expression, unsure why he was telling her this. Perhaps she understood, but simply didn’t want to think too deeply about it.
"I read about Rebirth Village once, and I rembered it imdiately." Xiao Ji glanced at Su Hongxing: "If we could stay in Rebirth Village for a while, I believe it would be a nice experience."
"Maybe." Su Hongxing followed behind Xiao Ji, "Did you find a place to stay?"
"Of course, I did. How could I let you sleep on the street? I’m a very organized person." Xiao Ji said, slowing his pace: "The path here is tricky, it rained this morning, so it’s a bit slippery, walk slower."
"I know." Su Hongxing took a deep breath, looking at the branches swaying in the wind: "The air here is so fresh, there’s a scent of earth."
And mixed in was the sll of smoke.
She felt more like she was on vacation, after all, she believed Ye Qilan would co looking for her soon.
Before that could happen, she hoped to have a candid talk with Xiao Ji.

This courtyard felt so familiar, not sothing that could be arranged in just a few days.
It’s uncertain when Xiao Ji planned to bring her to Rebirth Village, to this courtyard, intending to settle down here.
"I just hope you can live a bit happier. I’ll go cook, it’ll be ready soon." Xiao Ji said as he started heading into the house, and after a few steps, he turned back: "Xingxing, you wouldn’t run away while I’m cooking, would you?"
"I won’t." Su Hongxing shook her head: "How about I help you out?"
"Great." Xiao Ji’s eyes lit up with a smile.
Su Hongxing went to check the rice jar, and it was full of rice. The fridge was stocked with vegetables and ats, enough to last them several days.
Xiao Ji insisted on cooking himself, so she stood by and watched.
He was skilled at it, looking like a good homaker. She used to feel that if she could marry him, she would definitely lead a happy life.
Spending long periods with Xiao Ji, the only downside was that he constantly reminded her of the wonderful days she spent at the Xiao Family.
This softened her; when emotion overpowered reason, she couldn’t make the right decisions.
