Chapter 1271: Chapter 1271: Original Sin (5)
Du Qingyu had her wounds bandaged at the hospital, hailed a taxi, and planned to head to the Ye Family.
Who would have thought, at the intersection again, another truck ca barreling toward the taxi she was in.
The taxi driver was completely petrified, but Du Qingyu reacted in ti, pushing the driver aside, seizing the steering wheel, and narrowly avoided another accident.
By the ti she and the driver ca to their senses, the offending vehicle had vanished without a trace.
It was only at this mont that Du Qingyu’s mind could function normally. It couldn’t be such a coincidence that every ti she went out, a truck tried to run into her car. Leaving the hospital, another car aid for the taxi she was in—this was clearly soone trying to kill her on purpose.
She couldn’t recall having such a deep grudge with anyone that soone would go to these lengths to kill her.
Or was it that she had offended soone recently without realizing it?
She thought hard and suddenly rembered the phone call from Ding Ye last night. At that ti, Ding Ye’s laughter made her feel uneasy, but afterwards, she didn’t give it much thought.
Having been in two car accidents in just a couple of hours, could it have been Ding Ye who sent soone to do this?
With this possibility in mind, she couldn’t care about anything else and imdiately made a phone call: “President Ding, there’s sothing I want to ask you, please tell the truth!”
Upon receiving Du Qingyu’s call, Ye Qilan slowly curved his lips: “If it wasn’t for President Du coming to yesterday, asking to go to the Imperial Capital to sign with your chairman, I wouldn’t have almost lost my life. What I enjoy the most is an eye for an eye; whoever makes unhappy, I will make them even more miserable!”
Ye Qilan’s words were clearly heard by Du Qingyu.
Sweat seeped from her palms as she hurriedly replied: “President Ding, that’s no way to be reasonable. Aren’t you well and alive? I also heard that President Ding had an accident on the way to the Imperial Capital, but you can’t bla this on . How could I possibly orchestrate such a natural and man-made disaster?”
“It’s simple, you also ntioned natural and man-made disasters. Since I can’t settle scores with the heavens, I can only find a scapegoat. President Du, if you feel wronged, go complain to the heavens,” Ye Qilan said and then hung up the phone.
Su Hongxing had just overheard the conversation between Ye Qilan and Du Qingyu and she chuckled: “An eye for an eye, well said!”
To deal with evil-doers, one must employ even more venomous thods.
There’s no way this woman, Du Qingyu, could be completely innocent. It’s imperative to scare Du Qingyu.
“Starting today, I’m going to make Du Qingyu live every day in fear of death. At the very least, let’s play with her for ten days to half a month,” Ye Qilan twirled Su Hongxing’s fingers: “How about we don’t go to work today?”
“No, I only asked for one day off. Oh no, I’m going to be late,” Su Hongxing exclaid upon checking the ti.
Since deciding to go to work, one must not treat it like child’s play but fulfill one’s professional duties.
“I regret encouraging you to go to work,” Ye Qilan said, slightly discontented as Su Hongxing pulled away from him.
“I can’t possibly be a full-ti housewife, and I certainly don’t want to beco a yellow-faced woman,” Su Hongxing whispered back to him.
At her words, Ye Qilan’s eyes darkened, reminded of those unpleasant old mories…
anwhile, Du Qingyu squatted by the roadside, thinking of the phone call she just had and felt scared.
She knew from the first glance at Ding Ye that he was not to be trifled with. Reality had proven her intuition right. Ding Ye was a wolf, always ready to pounce on its prey.
