I turned around and could not accept what I had heard. I tried to calm myself but my heart beat so fast and I felt like suffocating.

"Breathe!" Jayden almost yelled.

He was not mad, he was worried. He pulled and gently hugged , rubbing his hand at my back.

"Let’s sit first." He whispered.

I nodded and walked toward the couch. I had ragged breathing when I sat while rembering the scene I saw on Lucia Castello’s murder.

I didn’t realized that the man who introduced himself as the real Benjamin was now in front of us, handing a glass of water.

"I’m sorry." He said.

I nodded again and took the water. We didn’t think of our safety anymore. I didn’t care if the water had poison in it and just drank everything.

"Do you still want to continue?" The man asked.

Jayden looked at and waited for my answer.

"Yes." I simply responded.

The man nodded and sat on the chair across from us. Then he continued.

"The owner of that restaurant, Rusell Miller, was looking for his long-lost son, and Jonathan found out about it. So he started telling a lie about himself. He told everyone he was an orphan and that his mom had taken him away from his father. After his mom died, he went to Flousia to look for his father. Jonathan did everything he could so everyone would believe him. He made a fake birth certificate and had pictures of Rusell Miller’s wife with an edited photo of him in it." The man bitterly laughed.

"Jonathan changed his na to Benjamin. When Rusell Miller heard about it, he asked Jonathan, now Benjamin, to co and et him. The old man was already dying and believed everything Benjamin had told him. He introduced Benjamin as his only heir, and when he died, he gave so of his properties and businesses to him."

Another unexpected truth about my foster father. I still couldn’t believe that the man I knew as my father was a wanted criminal and ruined everyone’s lives.

"Benjamin took care of the business. He was good at handling and making the company grow. The Miller’s beca one of the wealthiest families, not only in Flousia but also in other countries. And from the notorious Trekker Clan, Benjamin changed it to the Miller Clan. The new family na brought the forr mbers back and started reclaiming the power they once had. He built Miller International Security Agency and Miller Industries. Then Benjamin t with the other Mafia Clan leaders, offering them money and security." The man continued.

"And how did you know all of this?" Jayden frowned.

I knew he wasn’t totally convinced about what the man said, but seeing his face, I think he wasn’t lying.

"I did my own research. And found out about what he did to my father. I’m not here for the money. I wanted to reclaim my identity and live in peace."

"You can still live in peace even without the Miller na. Why would you want to co after Jonathan Trekker, knowing how dangerous he was?" Jayden started to question the man.

The man sighed and took sothing from his shirt’s pocket. It looked like pictures. Then he put them on the table one by one.

"This is my wife, my sons and the youngest, my daughter. Before my mother died, she asked to find my father to ask forgiveness. I wanted to fulfill my mother’s dying wish and so I did what she asked. But I found out, Russel Miller was already dead. I was curious of my real father and did so research about him. I found out that before he died, he knew Jonathan’s lies and tried to take back everything. He was a dying man and was overpowered by Jonathan." He sighed.

The man looked sad and hopeless while rembering his father’s last days.

"Jonathan didn’t expect that my father still had money and businesses under his na. When he found out, it was too late. Father transferred them under my mother’s na and mine. We were supposed to be happy about it, but that money beca our nightmare. Jonathan tracked my family and chased us until he took my wife and my kids. I never cared about that money, I just want my family back."

My heart felt the pain from the man’s words. I also felt his sincerity to take back his identity and his family.

"Do you think your family is still alive?" Jayden asked.

The man nodded. "Yes. As long as I hold the key to that fortune, he would not kill them."

"But as soon as you gave him what he wants, you and your family is dead." Jayden said.

"Yes. So I was waiting for you and your father."

"Why?" Jayden asked again.

The man looked at Jayden with pleading eyes.

"To ask for your help. I know you wanted to avenge your mother’s death so I stayed here and waited, hoping that one of you would co back. And I wasn’t wrong. You ca." He said.

Jayden didn’t answer, but he asked the man instead.

"Do you know how he t my mother?"

The man nodded again. "When so of the Mafia Clans sided with him, he made sure that he could control them. He then went into college, where Matthew Forelli, Princess Catherine, and Lucia Castello were studying. It wasn’t a coincidence that he t the three; it was all planned."

The man looked outside the window and continued.

"In fact, Paolo Santelmo helped him get into college. Benjamin’s goal was to get closer to Princess Catherine. The Santelmo’s didn’t really care about the royal family of Flousia, but he helped Benjamin with a promise that he would help Paolo to get his revenge on the Wilson Clan.

Paolo had no choice since the Santelmo Clan beca one of the weakest clans in the underworld. They were at their lowest when Benjamin offered them money, so he made a deal with him."

I turned to Jayden to see his reaction. But there it was again, it looked like he knew everything about Jonathan Trekker.
