It was the silhouette of a woman, still maintaining her appearance and attire from life.
The fierce Sword Intent belonging to a fourth-rank master filled the air, murderous aura palpable. Even as a re remnant of a soul, it was enough to make soone as ruthless as Wu ng feel a chill in his heart.
"It’s done! Hahaha!" Wu ng was ecstatic, almost insane, "A fourth-rank soul, heaven has helped ! Kill him! Kill that dog from the Prince Mansion chasing us!"
The woman stood there for a long while, then scratched her head, looking bewildered, "Who are you?"
Wu ng was taken aback, his actions paused, noticing sothing was off, he asked back, "Who are you?"
"I’m Donggong Ruoshu."
......
Chen Yi moved swiftly through the forest, following the trail of blood.
He sensed the sudden burst of Primordial Qi waves ahead, furrowed his brow slightly, and quickened his pace.
With a few leaps, he reached the dark corner ford by the massive banyan trees.
He imdiately saw Wu ng leaning against the trunk, his face flickering with light, and the fresh bloodstains and eerie talisman remnants on the ground.
Then, his gaze froze.
"Is he the one you want to help deal with?"
Donggong Ruoshu pointed forward, her eyes lit up.
Wu ng’s face flickered with uncertainty. The soul summoned according to the words of divination, despite being fourth-rank in life, was not under the talisman’s control, and her mind was surprisingly clear, almost to the point of foolishness.
Not knowing how to interact with her, yet with foes arriving in front of him, Wu ng nodded slightly.
"No need to deal with it." Donggong Ruoshu put her hands on her hips, "I’m well acquainted with him."
Wu ng was stunned again, his whole being seed to co to a halt at that mont.
He opened his mouth, looked at the terrifying aura of the female ghost, then at the slightly astonished master from the Prince Mansion, his mind went blank, leaving only an absurd thought roaring wildly, slipping out uncontrollably,
"You... you fucking... know him?! What the hell is this?!"
Donggong Ruoshu thought seriously for a mont, and earnestly replied:
"I don’t know."
Chen Yi snapped back to reality, looking at the familiar stupid girl in front of him, words stuck in his throat.
Wu ng, on the brink of collapse.
The color drained completely from his face, his mind buzzing, Donggong Ruoshu’s "I’m well acquainted with him" and "I don’t know" were like two invisible heavy hamrs, shattering his last shred of hope and reliance.
At this point...
"I... surrender..."
With a thud, Wu ng dropped to his knees, a desperate surrender,
"Don’t kill ! I... I have worth! I... I’ll hand over the Holy Fire Order Fragnt!"
With only his left hand remaining, he tremblingly, painstakingly reached into the inner layer of his bloodstained and muddy tattered robe, moving cautiously as if touching sothing extrely dangerous. After a mont of searching, he pulled out a flat object tightly wrapped in oilcloth, no larger than half a palm.
The oilcloth was also stained with dark red blood, looking filthy.
Wu ng forcefully tossed it over.
Chen Yi didn’t pick it up imdiately, only after confirming Wu ng was no longer a threat did he take a step forward, gently flicking the oilcloth package into his hand.
Unexpectedly, there was an extra gain.
......
When Chen Yi’s figure appeared again, Liu Hanyan’s tense nerves relaxed, but then imdiately tensed upon seeing the one-ard Wu ng and the floating, semi-transparent woman behind him.
"Lord Chen!" Liu Hanyan instinctively drew Yue Tingyun closer in protection, glaring at Wu ng with undisguised hatred and fear in her eyes.
Yue Tingyun forced his eyes open, seeing Wu ng, his pupils shrank, struggling to sit up but was stopped by Chen Yi with a raised hand gesture.
"He’s temporarily harmless." Chen Yi said concisely, his gaze falling on the increasingly blackened palm print on Yue Tingyun’s shoulder, with the purple aura almost reaching the neck, "Wu ng, take a look at his wound."
Wu ng, intimidated by Chen Yi’s influence, dared not be negligent. Dragging his weakened body, he moved closer a few steps, staring intently at Yue Tingyun’s wound.
He extended his trembling left hand, and instead of touching it directly, he sensed it several inches away from the palm print.
Monts later, Wu ng withdrew his hand and rasped, "It... it’s the most sinister force of the ’Mysterious Evil Black Poison Palm’ that has struck... provoking his own fierce Inner Strength to retaliate... internal and external assault... the poison has penetrated deep into the ridians, even... contaminating the heart vessels nearby..."
Liu Hanyan’s face turned ashen, her body slightly trembling.
Wu ng took a breath and continued, "Ordinary antidote thods... are useless... this palm poison cannot be resolved by dicine and stone, it must... must be led by pure Yin Sha Inner Power, in coordination with... the unique ’Reverse Vein Guidance’ technique of the Divine Sect, forcibly channeling back the retaliated Inner Strength within him, while... extracting that sinister palm force little by little as if peeling a cocoon... the process is extrely perilous, any slight mishap... both could perish..."
He paused, glanced at Chen Yi’s expression, then quickly added, "However... this lord’s Inner Strength is far more profound than ordinary people... his will is also incredibly tenacious... remarkably able to suppress the poison’s backlash for so long... if it were soone else... they would have... already exploded and died... this... this can be considered... a bit of fortune amidst misfortune..."
These words carried so sincerity, Yue Tingyun’s ability to hold on until now was truly a testant to his resilience.
"Then... then can you heal him?" Liu Hanyan asked with a tearful tone, urgently looking at Wu ng, and with a hint of plea, looking at Chen Yi.
Wu ng showed a difficult expression, initially wanting to act self-important, but seeing Chen Yi’s scoff, he quickly nodded, "Yes."
"Then heal him." Chen Yi said.
With that, Wu ng no longer hesitated, sat cross-legged behind Yue Tingyun, and pressed his two palms on the vital acupuncture points on Yue Tingyun’s back, a stream of pure and incredibly profound Inner Strength slowly infused into Yue Tingyun’s body, gradually dividing and dissolving the Mysterious Evil Palm force within.
Yue Tingyun’s tightly furrowed brow seed to unfurl slightly, his expression of pain slightly eased.
The one who ties a knot must untie it.
Seeing this, Liu Hanyan’s taut nerves finally relaxed completely, she fell to her knees in front of Chen Yi with a thud, tears streaming down:
"Lord Chen, your imnse kindness! Liu Hanyan will never forget it! If not for your tily arrival... my husband and I... would have certainly died today! This kindness and virtue, I, Liu Hanyan, am willing to repay a thousand tis over as a token of gratitude!"
Though Yue Tingyun was too weak to speak, he laboriously moved his lips, silently uttering two words: "Thank you."
Chen Yi rely nodded slightly, speaking deeply, "Just doing my duty, no need for excessive gratitude. Keep an eye on him, as well as this elder of the Demon Sect."
With that, he gestured for Donggong Ruoshu to co over.
Confused, Donggong Ruoshu floated over.
"Why are you here?"
Upon finding a vacant spot, Chen Yi asked directly.
"? I don’t know." Donggong Ruoshu paused, then after so thought, replied, "A vortex inexplicably appeared, I curiously took a look inside, and I ca down from the mountain."
Chen Yi sighed helplessly; as the saying goes, three days apart, one should view others with new eyes. It had been more than ten days since he last saw her, yet Miss Donggong remained the sa.
Passing by Gaoliang Mountain this ti, he wasn’t entirely unprepared to encounter Great Yin and her, but it was this stupid girl indeed, she always left him helpless, and the timing was too coincidental, it was unavoidable.
"What have you been up to all this ti?" Donggong Ruoshu asked, moving closer.
"I was working for the Prince Mansion, wanting to take you over, but now isn’t the ti."
If possible, Chen Yi didn’t want to leave the three won on the mountain. Currently, Qin Qingluo was rely reluctantly accepting his presence; their relationship was too fragile to withstand turbulence. Bringing the three won over at this point to rile up the Princess would result in chaos, and being kicked out wouldn’t be the worst outco.
Moreover, if he truly brought them in, Lin Wanxiao could suppress the situation, and Donggong Ruoshu could give orders and reason, but Great Yin, who always employs vague strategies, certainly wouldn’t stay put, setting the stage for confrontation with Qin Qingluo.
When he can bring the three won into the Prince Mansion, the path is long and arduous; rather than struggle over this, he should first think about how to make Qin Yue recognize him.
Chen Yi fell into contemplation.
This two-year-old was neither too young to distinguish right from wrong, nor too old to have a fixed mindset. Her reluctance to recognize him was not solely due to unfamiliarity, moreover, was due to the fear and loathing towards him as a sudden intruder.
She saw him as an enemy.
What was the solution now, how to make her like him, how to dispel her loathing?
Just when he was at a loss.
Donggong Ruoshu leaned in to look directly at Chen Yi, seemingly wanting to know what he was thinking.
Facing her ethereal presence, Chen Yi suddenly had an inspiration,
"Miss Donggong, can you disguise as a ghost?"
How does it matter if she sees him as an enemy?
Find a greater enemy, that’s all.
