"I’ll answer a little out of order, so bear with , if that’s alright?" Eo said and asked.
Nick nodded. What else was he supposed to do?
Eo looked at him for a mont. She was a little worried about his reaction. For now, it seed like he was holding off on doing the reacting, but it was clear that he was not a fan of these circumstances and revelations.
If it had been unavoidable, he didn’t mind everything that had happened until now. But he had almost died, kind of, several tis. He...didn’t want to bla Eo since she had been the one to save him.
But it just felt like his perspective had changed a lot with these new revelations.
"First of all, regarding how we’re fine here when we weren’t on Earth...Simply put, it’s because the Rules aren’t as strict or as strictly enforced. It’s pretty obvious why or how, right?"
Nick was silent for a mont before answering.

Nick didn’t need her to finish the question. A being of rules in a place of no rules. The being would do like all the other rules in the area and not exist.
It was another instance of Eo saving him.
Eo hesitated. This would be the hard part.
"The next question would be why you and your house accompanied when I was pushed out, right?"
Nick nodded.
"That actually takes us back to when I first entered Earth’s dinsion. You experienced a splitting headache and a trendous earthquake."
Nick nodded. He rembered. He didn’t know what the headache was, but he thought the earthquake was when Eo entered his ho and saved him.

It was as if Eo didn’t have anything to do with the earthquake.
Nick didn’t need to ask her to continue.
"What you experienced back then, Nick, wasn’t an ’earthquake.’ It was Earth rejecting your existence."
"What...?" Nick’s brow turned into a washboard as his frown deepened even further.
"If you’re asking why that happened...I don’t know. I only know that you suddenly went against the strict Rules of Earth. I noticed the disturbance and snuck in since I was curious. I covered the house and hid both you and from the Rules as best as I could. You can guess what would happen to a dinsional being who’s rejected by the rules of their dinsion without saying anything else, right?"
Nick was silent. He didn’t even need to guess.
He had felt it back then. That headache would have killed him. It was far worse than his current headache.
"W-why would Earth reject ? I didn’t do anything wrong. And why would Earth’s Rules want dead?" Nick asked, sadness and confusion in his voice.
Eo’s heart ached just hearing it. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the answers he sought this ti.
"Usually, when dinsions reject beings like , it’s because we pose a threat to the existence of the dinsion and its beings and rules." It was the only insight she could offer. It was just...
"You’re saying I was a threat? To Earth? To the entire universe?" Nick asked skeptically.
He was one human. He could be considered smarter than average, but only because average wasn’t great. He wasn’t a genius. He wasn’t a genocidal maniac with delusions of grandeur and the skills to make them reality. He wasn’t a reality-destroying experintal device from a bad sci-fi movie.
He was an ordinary human.
He was barely a threat to the spiders in his ho.
"I’m sorry, Nick. Other than that, I have no idea," Eo offered with a sympathetic look and shrug.
She knew it had happened, but she didn’t know why.
Nick stared at his hands with empty eyes for several minutes as he thought about what Eo had said. It was just one ground-breaking revelation after another.
She hadn’t brought him here. Well, she had, but she wasn’t the reason they had left Earth. The Rules of Existence had pushed them, both of them, out. To be exact, the Rules wanted him dead and her gone. So, when she was pushed out, Eo had taken him along for the ride and brought them to a dinsion where they could live in peace together.
Far from putting him in danger, Eo had done nothing but save him again and again from the start.
"So, even if I go back, Earth will just reject again?" Nick asked with a hollow voice.
As expected, Eo nodded.
"That is, unless you get the strength to overpower Earth’s rules."
"I better get started benchpressing galaxies then." Nick snorted in frustration.
He knew that Eo wasn’t talking about pure physical strength. But that only made it all the more impossible.
Not even Eo had the strength to go against Earth’s rules. How was he supposed to do it?
"It’s not impossible."
Nick didn’t pay her words any heed.
"I’m going to go lie down." He stood up.
"Alone?" Eo asked, full of hope.
"Alone," He answered sternly.
He appreciated Eo more than ever. But he needed so space.
