“This… is… UNACCEPTABLE!” Anne shouted.
I stuck a finger in my ear. She could throw out a high note, especially when she was having a tantrum.
“You said that you wanted a church. It’s not bad, is it?”
“That’s not the problem!”
After being relentlessly teased by those old ladies, I found it easier to tear myself away from my daughter for a bit, but after coming out, I felt imdiate regret. I knew that this was going to happen, but I still didn’t want to deal with the raging Anne.
One of the nice things about Chalm was that it had already been an established city under Lord Karr. It had an adventuring guild, a travel guild, an alchemy shop, and all of that stuff. So of the buildings were distributed freely for those who had the skills, while others were reclaid by the decedents of the original owner. One building that had yet to be reclaid was the church.
It wasn’t as large as the palace, but such a desire was sothing I planned to ignore anyway. However, it was a pretty large cathedral, and while it was worn down a bit and needed refurbishing, that was for them to worry about. If they wanted to expand on this building, they could use their own money to do so. Giving them this much was already too much.
However, there was one thing that I hadn’t expected when I arrived. A familiar face had appeared, the forr receptionist from the adventuring guild. She looked much happier since she had left the guild. She wore her animal ears up, even tying a ribbon around one ear. It was pretty cute. She also seed to get along well with the children. Given her typically bad attitude in the guild, I was a bit surprised by that.

That last ti I had spoken to her, she said she had started working for the orphanage, but I had nearly forgotten. I also hadn’t realized that the orphanage had set itself up in the forr church. Of course, they hadn’t had any money to fix it up, so it was a rather pitiful orphanage. Had I known it looked like this, I would have made sure more coins fell their way.
“Are you really unhappy that you must share the church with an orphanage? I thought that you would like the presence of the children. Don’t they honor the daughter or whatever…”
The secretary gasped, and various children moved around and hugged her, giving Anne fearful looks.
She shot a scathing look. “You know perfectly well that the orphans are not the problem. What is she doing here?”
“Hello, sister. It’s been so ti.” Mary smiled gently, giving a respectful bow.
“Who’s your sister?” Anne shouted back her eyes falling on Mary’s chest, which swayed a lot when she lowered her back.
They garnered so much attention even so of the young boys couldn’t help but stare, only for the forr secretary to quickly cover their eyes with her hand.
“Since Lord Deekson has granted each of us half of the church, then in the future, please take care of .” Mary seed unphased.
“Take care of those floppy cow udders!”
