Si Mingjing was indeed very interested. Even though her dical skills were already excellent, she was still full of a desire to learn more about dicine.
There’s a saying: the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know; what you’ve learned is just the tip of the iceberg.
She was particularly interested in Western surgical procedures.
But she was better at traditional Chinese dicine; she was only a layperson when it ca to Western surgery.
However, Si Mingjing did not want to study Western dicine on the Mu Continent. Yecheng also had an excellent dical college!
She didn’t want to live in a long-distance relationship with Mo Yinhe.
Si Mingjing said, "Let’s discuss studying Western dicine later. I’ll think about it when I get back."
Si Lisao handed her a docunt. "If you find no issues, please sign it."
It was a written description of the powers possessed by the Queen.
1. The Queen of Mu Continent is the Commander-in-Chief of the Mu Continent’s three armies, but she reigns but does not rule; actual military command lies with the Prince Regent. In other words, Her Majesty the Queen does not participate in military activities; she is only responsible for signing docunts.
2. The Queen of Mu Continent has the power to abolish laws and dismiss the Prince Regent. All laws require the Queen’s consent. Similarly, as Head of State, she has the power to approve and promulgate laws. All laws enacted by the Prince Regent must be signed by her to take effect.
3. The Queen of Mu Continent possesses prosecutorial immunity: the Queen cannot be arrested, nor can anyone compel her to provide evidence in court, as the Queen possesses prosecutorial immunity, and the court’s authority is subordinate to the monarch.
4. ...
Judging from this docunt, her powers are quite substantial!
Although she doesn’t participate in politics, she has veto power!
This also ensures she isn’t just a nominal queen or a national figurehead; she is the country’s political leader, she simply doesn’t typically involve herself in politics.
Si Mingjing was satisfied with this.
After returning, she handed the docunt to Mo Yinhe to read, thinking this was a perfect solution.
Mo Yinhe saw at a glance that Si Lisao was wary of him!
Si Mingjing could see this as well, but she understood.
In politics, no one could afford to be a fool; it was normal for Si Lisao to be cautious.
Moreover, her wish to support Mo Yinhe’s political ideals couldn’t be achieved overnight; such things required subtle and gradual influence—haste makes waste.
Si Mingjing said, "Since I’m not getting involved in politics, there’s no need for to stay on the Mu Continent. After the coronation ceremony, I’ll use the excuse of studying abroad to return to Yecheng."
Mo Yinhe put away the docunt and said, "Alright!"
Her returning to Yecheng couldn’t be better!
As for Si Lisao’s wariness, Mo Yinhe didn’t care at all. It wasn’t as if he were willing to give up everything to co to the Mu Continent and live off a woman!
He simply didn’t want to live apart in a long-distance relationship; it was a necessity, not a choice!
Right now, Mo Yinhe’s most anticipated event was their grand wedding!
His Mingjing, openly and honorably marrying him—just the thought filled him with excitent...
Mo Yinhe was already impatient to push her coronation ceremony forward; his longing for their wedding day was as clear as daylight!
With little to do on the Mu Continent, Mo Yinhe spent his days pondering his wedding. He even took several advance walks across the Royal Palace’s square.
Fengjue followed him, curiously scratching his head. "Your Excellency, why are you wandering around the square every day with nothing else to do?"
"Rehearsing!"
The single word Mo Yinhe uttered left Fengjue utterly astonished.
He couldn’t help but tease, "Back when you were ascending to the position of Crown Prince, they asked you to rehearse, and you disdained it. But now..."
"Can it be the sa? Back then I was the Crown Prince, and now I’m about to beco the Empress of the Mu Continent!" Mo Yinhe declared.
It was as if his status had risen more than just one level.
Mo Yinhe spoke with such pride, anyone unaware might really think he coveted the position of male Empress of the Mu Continent!
Fengjue had a bellyful of retorts he was holding back!
Several more days drifted by.
But there was still a week left before the coronation ceremony, and a week left until his—Mo Yinhe’s—wedding!
Mo Yinhe felt as if ti was crawling by!
He wished he could take a large axe and chop away this entire week, making ti jump directly to their wedding day!
"Where did Mingjing go?"
After returning from his early workout in the gym, Mo Yinhe didn’t see his beloved wife anywhere.
Fengjue said, "The Crown Princess Consort ntioned she was going to et her maternal younger uncle to transfer the real estate Old Master Si left for him."
Mo Yinhe had heard Si Mingjing ntion that Old Master Si also had a son nad Se Liunian. Old Master Si had left many properties and shops to this younger son, all located in the Undersea World of the Mu Continent. Today, Si Mingjing had specifically made ti to hand over these assets to Se Liunian. She had also asked Se Liunian if he wanted the Si Group in A Country.
「In a café」
Se Liunian received the property his biological father had left him, his heart filled with complex emotions.
How he wished he wasn’t Old Master Si’s son! Then, he and Qian Sishui could have married!
The mystery of his birth had forced him to end his own romance.
This was cruel for Se Liunian, and he couldn’t even explain the truth to Qian Sishui.
"No, I won’t leave the Mu Continent," Se Liunian stated.
Even if he could never marry Qian Sishui in this lifeti, he refused to leave the place where she lived.
Even if, in the future, he could only watch silently as she married and had children, he wanted to live in the sa world as her.
Si Mingjing did not insist.
She said, "How about this: I’ll deposit a certain amount of dividends into your account every year. Don’t refuse."
Se Liunian closed his eyes, leaned against the back of his chair, and no longer refused.
Si Mingjing sat quietly drinking her coffee; from Se Liunian’s expression, she could discern his sorrow.
"Have you ever thought about telling Qian Sishui the truth?" she asked.
Se Liunian suddenly clenched his well-defined fingers.
"It’s clear that girl loves you deeply," Si Mingjing continued. "If you’re thinking of faking a serious illness to make her let go, I think it would be better to tell her the truth."
Si Mingjing said no more.
After finishing her coffee, Si Mingjing left the café. Se Liunian remained seated alone, trapped in love’s dilemma, his eyes filled with bewildernt.
「At the Bai Family Residence」
Today was the seventh day since Bai Qingshui’s death, and the family was holding a morial service, which Si Mingjing also needed to attend.
That evening, she saw Bai Chuanfeng. Bai Chuanfeng’s hair was black again, likely dyed. She still looked unwell, her eyes deeply sunken, appearing sowhat haggard.
"Mother," Si Mingjing greeted her.
Si Mingjing was radiant and rosy-cheeked, a stark contrast to Bai Chuanfeng.
Bai Chuanfeng seethed with hatred, wishing Si Mingjing would just die!
But Si Mingjing wasn’t going to die. Instead, she was thriving and would soon inherit the throne, becoming the supre Queen of the Mu Continent, forever trampling Bai Chuanfeng underfoot!
Bai Chuanfeng knew this all too well. The hatred stuck in her throat, unventable.
"You’ve co," Bai Chuanfeng said, her voice flat. "Go offer incense to your sister."
