The hospital hallway was empty, with strands of cool breeze seeping in through the window at the end of the corridor.
For the date, Dong Xin Yan wore only a thin dress, and she couldn’t help but feel the chill, her body shivered slightly, and she unconsciously rubbed her arms.
Lady Wei saw this, turned her head toward the butler standing respectfully by the side, and said, "Give the coat."
The butler responded, stepped forward, and handed the coat, which was hanging on her arm, over to Lady Wei. Lady Wei took it, but instead of wearing it herself, she handed it to Dong Xin Yan, "Put it on, you’re wearing so little, it’s cool at night."
Perhaps because she wasn’t used to it, her tone was sowhat stiff.

She trotted in her high heels into the restaurant, heading toward the private room she had reserved.
She and Gu Ningyi had agreed on a ti of eight o’clock, and now it was already ten. She was late by two hours, would Gu Ningyi still be waiting for her?
Standing at the door of the private room, Dong Xin Yan took a deep breath, placed her hand on the doorknob, and slowly turned it.

She walked over, her red lips parting slightly, her voice filled with deep apology, "Gu Ningyi, I’m sorry I’m late, thank you for waiting for ."
Listening to her voice, under the warm candlelight, Gu Ningyi’s eyelids lifted slightly, his chin tilted up a bit, his dark eyes slowly looked at her, yet his gaze was devoid of warmth, completely cold.
Dong Xin Yan’s heart thudded suddenly, she subconsciously swallowed, "Gu, Gu Ningyi, I...."
"Do you know what I was thinking while I was sitting here?"
Gu Ningyi began to speak in a quiet tone, interrupting her, his gaze shifted from her to the seat beside her, his lips curled into a slight smile, and he chuckled softly, "I was thinking, this scene felt familiar sohow."
"A candlelit dinner that seems familiar, a familiar wait, and the familiar sense of... not being able to et the person I want to wait for."
