"Gu Ningyi, what’s wrong with you?" She reached out to support him, but he backed away unsteadily, as if avoiding a flood or a beast. "Don’t touch !" His voice was increasingly cold, devoid of any warmth, his whole body exuding a chilling hostility.
Dong Xin Yan’s movent froze for a mont. Gu Ningyi forced himself to lift his foot, brushed past her shoulder, and strode toward the room.
Dong Xin Yan stood stunned for half a second. Suddenly thinking of sothing, her eyes sharpened, and she quickly turned around and chased after him.
She ran all the way to Gu Ningyi’s bedroom. When she arrived breathlessly at the doorway, sure enough, she saw Gu Ningyi holding so pills, about to pour them into his mouth.
Dong Xin Yan didn’t even have ti to catch her breath, she quickly rushed over, swung her hand, and knocked all the pills out of Gu Ningyi’s hand. Then she gathered all the bottles and jars on the table into her arms and ran toward the bathroom.
As soon as she ran into the bathroom, she quickly closed and locked the door, then ran to the toilet, opened the bottles, and poured all the pills inside.
She wouldn’t let him take these pills again, not let him harm his body like this, she had to throw them all away!
After pouring all the pills into the toilet, Dong Xin Yan flushed them, the water rushing them all away, not a single one left.
She clapped her hands, making sure nothing remained, then stood up straight and slowly walked out of the bathroom.
Gu Ningyi was sitting leaning against the sofa. When he heard her footsteps, he lifted his eyelids slightly and looked straight at her. His face was still pale, but his eyes were incredibly cold.
Dong Xin Yan felt a slight chill on her back, yet she bravely t his black eyes. Unconsciously, she swallowed, cleared her throat lightly, and said, "I threw away all your dication. You shouldn’t take those anymore; they’re too harmful to your body. You..."
"What’s it to you?"
Gu Ningyi parted his thin lips, and word by word, slowly said, "What happens to , what dicine I take, what does it have to do with you? What right do you, Dong Xin Yan, have to interfere with ? I showed rcy to you, and you act all self-righteous. Do you really think I still love you foolishly like I did before?"
His tone was peaceful, without deliberate coldness or cruelty. Yet this made him even more frightening...
Dong Xin Yan swayed slightly, a pallor rose to her cheeks unconsciously, and her voice lowered, "I, I just care about you."
"Care?"
Gu Ningyi repeated the word, as if hearing the world’s biggest joke, and slowly laughed, "Dong Xin Yan, isn’t your concern a bit too late?"
After his world had turned to ashes, she said she cared about him, she sought him, she loved him, forever, everything was her saying it. But he had to wait in place, waiting for when she would think of him, when she would look back at him.
But even this glance had a ti limit!
She could retract it whenever she wanted, leave whenever she wanted.
Why should he accept all this unconditionally?
If you love more, your heart doesn’t hurt, if you love deeply, you don’t get hurt, is that it?
