Dong Xin Yan didn’t have the strength to speak, yet she still shook her head firmly.

She said she wouldn’t leave. She would wait until Cheng Ziyang was willing to see her.

However, with just such a small movent of shaking her head, Dong Xin Yan’s body swayed violently, as if she might collapse in the next second.

The two nurses exchanged glances with a hint of worry in their eyes.

Dong Xin Yan might not have suffered any major injuries, but she had multiple abrasions all over her body, and her forehead was bruised from a knock. Due to excessive stimulation, her ntal state wasn’t good, and her entire body was weak. She needed bed rest.

But they couldn’t persuade her to leave. Were they supposed to forcefully drag her away?

The two nurses were struggling when they suddenly heard footsteps. They instinctively looked up and saw Sister in law Li helping Mrs. Cheng walk slowly over. Their eyes lit up.

Soone who could persuade her had arrived.

Dong Xin Yan turned her face and, seeing Mrs. Cheng, couldn’t help but stand up straight and spoke hoarsely, "Auntie... ."

Mrs. Cheng was also in poor spirits. It was clear she was forcing herself, moving a beat slower. It took her a while to approach Dong Xin Yan, and she softly asked, "Xinxin, are you feeling better?"

Dong Xin Yan hurriedly nodded, "I’m okay."

"That’s good, that’s good." Mrs. Cheng repeated twice, with a faint bitter smile in her eyes, "If sothing happened to you, Ziyang wouldn’t know how to stop worrying, that silly child."

Pausing for a mont, she suddenly rembered sothing and asked puzzled, "But Xinxin, why are you standing at the door and not going inside? Ziyang should really want to see you."

Ziyang should really want to see you...

Mrs. Cheng’s unintentional words instantly hit her heart like a heavy blow, making her face pale, and her smile extrely bleak.

"Ziyang doesn’t want to see now... ."

"How could that be?"

Mrs. Cheng looked surprised, even Sister in law Li beside her was quite shocked.

Last night, when Cheng Ziyang was still unconscious, she stayed in the ward to look after him. The whole night, he kept mumbling Dong Xin Yan’s na, over and over, so much that it brought sourness to anyone who heard.

Even this morning, when he first woke up, the first person he looked for and was concerned about was Dong Xin Yan.

However, no one knows a child better than their mother. Mrs. Cheng was surprised for a mont but quickly guessed what was on her son’s mind. She looked at Dong Xin Yan and couldn’t help but sigh.

Her son truly loved this woman deeply.

He could give up his life, and now... even possibly lose his legs, yet he was still worried about her feeling sad and guilty.

If... if they were still engaged and going to get married, she would have nothing to say about him doing this. But they had already broken up, wouldn’t be together, yet he still cared so much for her...

At this mont, Mrs. Cheng couldn’t prevent herself from feeling resentnt towards her.

Mrs. Cheng’s hands involuntarily clenched tightly, a slight coldness in her eyes, wanting to say sothing, but the words were swallowed back when they reached her lips.

Because she knew in her heart, her son couldn’t do without Dong Xin Yan. Even if he drove her away now and didn’t see her, even so... he would still hope she could be with him.

If... if his legs truly couldn’t be healed, if he really couldn’t walk... Dong Xin Yan, she must, she must repay this with her entire life.
