When Gu Ningyi ca back to his senses, the call had already gone through, and even if he wanted to stop it, it was too late.
The beeping sound echoed in his ears, and Gu Ningyi stared blankly, his mind suddenly going blank, yet his heart started pounding wildly.
Whether consciously or unconsciously, he could not control himself; he still missed her, still wanted to hear her voice, still wanted to see her.
Anyway, in front of her, all his reason, all his self-control, disappeared.

While Gu Ningyi was making the call, Dong Xin Yan was taking a bath. The comrcial shoot was almost complete, with only a little wrapping up to do, so they finished a bit early today.
Exhausted and with the weather turning cold, the first thing Dong Xin Yan did upon returning to the hotel was to soak in a hot bath to relax her body. She didn’t bring her phone into the bathroom; instead, it was left on a table outside.
Wenwen was sharing a room with her, and while she was taking a bath, Wenwen was on the phone discussing the next day’s work schedule with the director’s assistant. However, halfway through the conversation, her phone ran out of battery and shut down automatically.
Wenwen couldn’t help but frown slightly. Glancing around, she saw Dong Xin Yan’s phone and quickly went over to pick it up, then turned and shouted toward the bathroom, "Sister Xin, my phone is dead. Can I use yours to make a call?"
"Okay."
Since she no longer expected calls from Gu Ningyi, the phone had beco sothing dispensable for her, so Dong Xin Yan agreed without hesitation.
So, Wenwen held Dong Xin Yan’s phone, unlocked it, and made the call.
At the sa instant she pressed the call button, Gu Ningyi’s call ca through.

"The number you have dialed is currently on another call. Please try again later..."
Full of anticipation and nervousness, this cold ssage extinguished his hopes. Was even fate trying to prevent them, disapproving of their contact or eting?
Gu Ningyi’s dark eyes suddenly dimd. He turned to look out the giant floor-to-ceiling window. As night fell gradually, lights ca on one by one, so warm, yet not a single light was lit for him, none waiting for him.
Gu Ningyi’s hand clenched tightly. After about a second, he suddenly stood up, grabbed his car keys with one hand, and his coat with the other, striding quickly out of the office.
The car sped through the night. At this mont, his mood, plunged into the depths, overca his fear of speed. He only knew that while the car sped forward, his mind found a brief mont of calm.
He drove around the outer ring road of L City, circling again and again. As the night deepened, the surroundings beca quieter, and there were fewer cars and people. Without feeling tired, he drove on. He didn’t know how long it took, but when he finally stopped, he raised his eyes, and before him was... Dong Xin Yan’s apartnt.

The final bits of the shoot took Dong Xin Yan just one morning to complete smoothly. Over the five and a half days she was in Beijing, all her work was finished.
The director was quite satisfied, patting her shoulder and praising her, then with a smile, he asked, "Xinyan, you’ve worked hard these past few days. I’m hosting dinner tonight for everyone to relax, and maybe sing a few songs afterward to reward everyone’s efforts these days. Would you like to join us?"
