After leaving...
Why did he develop this habit of having headaches? Is it because of life’s pressures? Or sothing else?
As he thought about it, a slight tenderness arose in his heart. At that ti, he didn’t know that Uncle Dong was fired because of his blindness. Back then, he was only absorbed in his own pain.
By the ti he recovered, Uncle Dong and Dong Xin Yan had long moved to an unknown place. If it hadn’t been for their accidental encounter at university later, perhaps they would have really had no connection.
But now... even though they have been entangled for so many years, it seems... the outco is not as good as hoped.
Still, in the end, he was unwilling to accept it.
Unwilling to accept that he and his girl missed each other just like this, and unwilling that her happiness wasn’t given by him.
She once still... owed him so words.
At that ti, she arranged to et him by the lake, but when he arrived there, he couldn’t wait for her. When they t again the next day, she brushed it off lightly, saying there was nothing special to discuss.
However, when she made the appointnt, she was so earnest, so serious.
It was clear she had sothing important to tell him. Why does she now refuse to rember him?
He still couldn’t believe it and couldn’t accept it.
His hand unconsciously clenched, and the paper he held gradually crumpled. When he ca to his senses, he realized he almost crushed the report into a ball, so he quickly relaxed his grip and gently smoothed it out. Suddenly, his fingers landed on two words.
Water accident.
Gu Ningyi’s eyes suddenly sharpened, and he quickly focused his gaze.
The report about Dong Xin Yan’s water accident contained rely a single sentence saying that she accidentally fell into the water.
This wasn’t a point that would normally attract attention, but Gu Ningyi recalled Dong Xin Yan’s headaches and vaguely ford a suspicion in his mind.
Could her headaches be triggered by falling into the water?
And her not rembering him, not recalling those two months, could it be caused by the headaches?
In other words, perhaps she doesn’t willingly choose not to rember him, but instead, she might have... lost that mory?
The more Gu Ningyi thought about it, the more excited he beca, and the more he couldn’t suppress his pounding heart, yearning to imdiately rush to Dong Xin Yan and get to the bottom of it.
However, he knew in his heart that all of this was rely his speculation. He had no evidence, and asking her recklessly again might result in the sa outco as today.
Gu Ningyi took a deep breath, his dark eyes darkening, fixating on that report for quite a while. He set down the report, picked up his phone, and dialed a number.

The next day.
Dong Xin Yan hadn’t slept well all night and got up early. After washing up, she left the room, and the aroma of soy milk hit her nose.
She looked up to see fresh soy milk and hot crispy dough sticks already laid on the dining table, still steaming, while Cheng Ziyang stood nearby. Seeing her, he smiled gently and said, "Xinxin, good morning. Co over for breakfast."
Dong Xin Yan looked at Cheng Ziyang, his complexion had returned to normal, still as elegant and gentle, as if everything she saw last night was just an illusion.
"Ziyang, are you alright now?" Dong Xin Yan asked in surprise.
"Of course."
Cheng Ziyang answered as if it was obvious, and continued smiling, "I got up early to get this for you. Eat while it’s hot, and afterward, we’ll go to the hospital."
"The hospital? Why are we going to the hospital?" Dong Xin Yan asked, surprised.
She wasn’t sick or in pain, so why go to a hospital?
