"What’s so attractive to Mr. Gu?" Yuan Shen asked as he leaned his face closer.
Gu Ningyi rcilessly pushed Yuan Shen’s face away with one hand and coldly threw out, "What’s the gossip?" Then he strode towards the Heavenly Pond.
Yuan Shen snorted in discontent, rubbed his handso face, and followed suit.
Both Gu Ningyi and Yuan Shen were top-tier VIP custors at the Heavenly Pond. As they entered, the lobby manager greeted them warmly, "Mr. Gu, Young Master Yuan, you’re here, as usual?"
"As usual" referred to the specially prepared private room for them.
Yuan Shen was about to nod when Gu Ningyi suddenly stepped towards the main hall.
The lobby manager looked at Yuan Shen in surprise, and Yuan Shen himself found it odd. Mr. Gu always hated noise and crowded places, preferring the private rooms. Why was he heading to the hall today?
Yuan Shen raised an eyebrow in curiosity but didn’t question it. He just nodded and said, "Let’s sit in the hall... find a quieter spot."
"Alright, Young Master Yuan."
The lobby manager picked a slightly quiet corner for them. After Gu Ningyi and Yuan Shen sat down, he thoughtfully asked, "Mr. Gu, would you like a screen added?"
Gu Ningyi replied indifferently, "No need."
Yuan Shen snapped his fingers at the manager, instructing him to fetch the good wine he had stored there. The manager agreed and retreated slowly.
After taking a seat, Gu Ningyi leaned lazily against the back of the chair, his dark eyes seemingly casually scanning the hall, yet he didn’t spot that familiar red figure.
He furrowed his brow slightly. Could he have seen it wrong?
But co to think of it, Dong Xin Yan, that woman, wouldn’t dare play tricks on him now, would she? Maybe he was just overthinking it.
But... has his attention been too focused on this woman lately?
Gu Ningyi knitted his brows even tighter, feeling a bit annoyed with this thought.
The waiter brought the wine, and Yuan Shen tipped him, pouring two glasses and handing one to Gu Ningyi, then raising his own glass towards him.
Gu Ningyi glanced sideways at him, picked up the glass, clinked it with Yuan Shen’s, and took a sip.
The wine was a bit cool and slid down his throat, seemingly smoothing over his slight irritation.
Yuan Shen took a sip, squinting slightly, a look of enjoynt on his handso face, "Mr. Gu, this wine is great, right? I’ve been saving it for a long ti, only sharing it because we’re long-ti brothers."
Gu Ningyi curled his lips, elegantly swirling the crystal glass in his long fingers as he lazily said, "If you like it, I’ve got plenty at ho. I’ll have soone send a case over."
"...What? You’ve got plenty at ho?"
Yuan Shen widened his eyes in disbelief, "No way, this red wine stopped production a long ti ago. I had to spend $7000 fighting a German guy for this bottle!"
"Is that so?"
Gu Ningyi remained lazy in deanor, took another sip of wine, and then said slowly, "But I do have it at ho."
"...."
Clearly stating a fact in such a nonchalant tone, why does it sound so smug and punchable?
Yuan Shen clutched his chest, only to feel his heart ache. Discussing this topic was too painful, so he wisely changed the subject, "By the way, are you and Yalin getting serious?"
