Gu Group Building Top Floor, President’s Office.
Gu Ningyi sat in a black swivel chair, holding an IPAD, which was playing scenes from the entrance of the detention center.
Including the mont when Dong Xin Yan answered his call, her every action, expression, until finally, she resolutely walked into the detention center, and as her figure completely disappeared from the entrance, the light in Gu Ningyi’s eyes suddenly turned dark and heavy. He violently smashed the IPAD he held, making a loud crashing sound.
He warned her ti and again, gave her chances, and yet in the end, she still insisted on seeing Cheng Ziyang!
Gu Ningyi’s black eyes narrowed deeply, his hands gradually clenched, extre anger ignited a raging fire in his heart. Even through a door, the sound could still clearly travel to Secretary Lin’s ears. Her heart contracted violently, and her entire face scrunched into a tight cluster.
Oh my, Boss’s temper today! It seems she’d better be extra cautious, lest she accidentally becos an outlet for his anger, which would not be a pleasant experience.
But why on earth is Boss so angry?
Secretary Lin frowned, thinking over and over, could it still be because of Miss Dong?
As she was mulling over this, the office door behind her suddenly opened. Secretary Lin was startled, standing up reflexively, stamring, "Mr. Gu."
"Cancel all of today’s appointnts."
Gu Ningyi’s voice was as usual, cool and low, but today it carried a chillingly dangerous vibe. Before Secretary Lin could react, Gu Ningyi had already left in big strides.
It was a while before Secretary Lin weakly slumped back into her chair, thinking if it really was Miss Dong who provoked the Boss today, she truly felt a mont of silence was needed for her.

Having been here once or twice, Dong Xin Yan easily found her way to the eting room as she entered the detention center. When she reached the door, her steps unconsciously halted, she lifted a hand to adjust her hair, then took out a compact mirror, touched up her makeup while twisting her lips into a curve, confirming she was in her best state, took a deep breath, then reached for the doorknob and slowly pushed the door open.
At this mont, her heart beat nervously. As the door opened, Dong Xin Yan gradually saw the scene inside the room—an empty room with no decoration, only a rectangular table and four chairs, one of which was occupied by the person she was most familiar with.
His brows, eyes, nose, mouth, his profile, and the gentle look when he smiled—there wasn’t a mont she could forget them.
In over a month without seeing him, he looked just as he did in her mory; even wearing prison clothes did not rob him of his elegance.
Her gaze naturally fixed on Cheng Ziyang without blinking, fearful that he might disappear in an instant.
Cheng Ziyang seed to sense it, his eyes lifted slightly, imdiately eting Dong Xin Yan’s gaze.
For every bit of that over-a-month-long yearning, he was equally excited at this mont. His hand trembled slightly, and a gentle smile gradually appeared on his handso face, his voice as warm as ever, "Xinxin, you’re here."
The simple five words seed to pour relentless bitterness into Dong Xin Yan’s heart, her eyes suddenly becoming moist, as sothing instantly choked her throat.
