Chapter 1821: Chapter 661: Immortal Guides the Way_3

Perhaps this was the true purpose of the Immortal Domain’s trials.

Ashbur focused intently on Clayton Bertram’s every move in the Token, completely unaware of a group of chubby little beings that had appeared behind him in the dark fog.

In fact, even if Ashbur had been more vigilant and on guard, he would still not have noticed these little creatures approaching. They whispered amongst themselves: Can we eat it?

Grandpa didn’t say we couldn’t, right?

I just emptied my stomach, I’m so hungry now.

One of them coquettishly swayed its Gourd-shaped waist: Eh, eh, eh, I’m not hungry.

The other little beings chided: You ate all that lightning, of course, you’re not hungry. Eating alone is shaful! Wait until I’m full, then I’ll beat you up!

The little creatures stealthily moved closer, seemingly slow but in an instant were beside Ashbur, latching onto him and feasting. Ashbur remained oblivious to all of this.

Clayton Bertram’s judgnt was correct; the little beings now possessed a paralyzing Divine Power, so much so that even the one being devoured wouldn’t notice. Although they hadn’t fully matured, they could already use this power to so extent, which was more than enough to deal with the likes of Ashbur.

Clayton Bertram seed to be exerting all his strength in the Trap chanism, but in reality, he was intentionally holding back. He knew his little companions were right behind him, and without his suppression, these fellows would surely reveal their true nature and devour Ashbur without hesitation…

Before long, the Void Trap in front of Clayton began to ripple like water. Several chubby little beings, like “Pac-Man” creatures, chomped their way forward while wriggling in — the trap needed energy to construct, and the little beings fed on that very energy.

Clayton opened his sleeve, wanting to take his little companions back in. But the little creatures, after devouring the energy of the Trap chanism, didn’t imdiately return to their grandfather’s sleeve; instead, they looked around sowhat blankly. Clayton was taken aback and then gave the command with so exasperation: In this place, feel free to poop wherever you like.

Subsequently, Clayton Bertram swiftly took a step forward and entered the next Trap…

After a while, the little companions caught up, refreshed and ready to devour more!

Clayton covered his nose and asked, “What about the Immortal Artifacts that were on Ashbur?” He had long guessed that Ashbur could not possibly expose all his cards, and there must be more precious ones hidden. The little creatures appeared puzzled: Do you even have to ask?

Our dad is smart, didn’t he inherit that from grandpa? But… better not say the rest!

Clayton sighed deeply, lanting the waste of such valuable artifacts.

However, after eating an Immortal Descendant and several precious Immortal Artifacts, the little creatures had significantly accelerated their growth. Clayton also wondered: what would their state change to next? Would they transform into butterflies?

With his little companions, Clayton no longer needed to worry. He would step into one trap after another, and the little creatures would co surging out!

It took the little ones nine days to finish eating all the Traps in the eight hundred miles radius. Clayton’s progress was initially slow, but as they ate, the surrounding dark fog beca thinner, making it harder for new Rule Traps to form. So, Clayton pressed on, reaching the nine hundred mile boundary.

Strangely enough, the boundary between the eight hundred and nine hundred mile areas had a clear demarcation of dark fog! Those inside couldn’t co out, and those outside seemingly couldn’t go in.

This ti, Clayton didn’t take matters into his own hands. He urged his little companions on instead. Although they hadn’t grown much, their rotund bodies seed unable to contain much more energy.

As they rushed in, Clayton saw the dark fog visibly recede, and he laughed loudly.

The little creatures gnawed through the Dense Fog, creating a clear path. As Clayton stepped in, about thirty miles in, a terrifying killing aura suddenly struck him head-on, causing his body to tremble, his eyes to sting and well up with tears, and even stirring a strong sense of dread from the bottom of his heart!

Barely able to keep his eyes open, Clayton noticed that the dark aura took on a sinister golden hue. In front of him, his little companions circled a massive skeleton, seemingly contemplating where to begin their feast.

The skeleton sat in the void, nothingness below it, while black fog snake-like slithered in and out of its massive fra. Its left hand rested on its knee, giving Clayton an odd feeling.

In its right hand, it held a large stone sword. Its pose suggested it was either commanding a vast army or facing a formidable enemy. Clayton imdiately realized, “This is the fallen Immortal Venerable!”

“An Immortal Venerable fell at the nine hundred mile boundary?” Clayton found it hard to believe. The first nine hundred miles were indeed perilous, and he’d only managed to pass through them with the help of his little companions. But to say that an Immortal Venerable had fallen here seed exaggerated. Moreover, where were the bones of the Immortal Kings and Generals?

Had they all died in the first nine hundred miles and completely disintegrated? Clayton shook his head again – after all, the Great Commander, “Master Wolf,” who hadn’t yet broken through the mortal-immortal barrier, had managed to explore up to seven hundred miles.

As soon as the little creatures charged up, they gleefully chased the black fog that slithered in and out of the skeleton, then caught one and sucked it down their gullets. The power of the fog dissipated with a sharp, rapid noise. This sound caused a tearing pain in Clayton’s eardrums.
