Valmira summoned at dawn. Not with words—just a shadowed ssage that flickered across the Codex: "Co to the Archives. Alone."
The air in the Archive of Whispers was heavier than usual, like the whole tower was holding its breath.
She stood at the far wall, one hand on a scroll that shimred between visible and not. As I approached, she looked... afraid.
"I found a na," she said. "One that appears in the Codex and in the First Shard."
"Whose?"
She hesitated. "Yours."
My stomach twisted.
"What do you an?"
"Not just you. A predecessor. Another ’Kazuki’—thousands of years ago. Sa na. Sa role."
"That’s impossible."
"No," she said softly. "It’s not. The title of Architect is cyclical. You’ve been reborn again and again."
"And I keep forgetting?"
She nodded. "Because you always choose to."
I stepped again, breath cold. "I don’t.... I didn’t ask for this."
"No one ever does," she whispered.
But she didn’t forestall when I left.
She knew I needed ti to system the load of a na I thought beca mine by myself.
