The sky began to drizzle, forming fine lines of rain.
The drizzle fell through Zhou Li's body, as well as through Tuanzi and Zhu Jiu. After hitting the ground, the cracks previously made on the mountaintop rapidly healed.
Tuanzi was very bold. She left Zhou Li's embrace and scurried from the top of Zhu Jiu's head to his eye socket, getting close to his eye. Zhou Li worried she might slip and fall, but she didn't. Instead, she started chatting excitedly with the Great Demon, "What's your na?"
"I am called Zhu Jiu."
"Boiled Wine~"
Tuanzi repeated the na. Suddenly, she noticed the rain threads in the air. Her eyes widened as they reflected the world around her, and she proclaid, as if it were raining in her eyes too, "Wow! It's drizzling!"
"So you are Lord Drizzle," the giant snake said softly, gazing down at the tiny creature. "That's a nice na."
"No, no! I am Lord Dumpling, the Close Attendant to His Highness!"
"The Close Attendant to His Highness?"
"Yes, that's right!"
"But His Highness has not yet awakened."
"Lord Dumpling is awake!"
"I see. My pleasure to et Lord Dumpling."
"Lord Dumpling has also seen you." Tuanzi finished and then asked, "Do you know Lurang?"
"I don't know him."
"Lord Dumpling knows him! He is a kind-hearted Demon, who lent Lord Dumpling a glass bottle, and Lord Dumpling caught three Bright Bugs with it! Oh no! It's five!" Tuanzi bragged excitedly.
"Oh."
"Why are you fighting here? Did you report to Lord Dumpling?"
"It's an event."
"Is that so, ow~"
Although she didn't understand, Lord Dumpling decided not to bother them for now and continued speaking to Zhu Jiu, "Do you know Lin Zhong?"
"Of course, I know Lord Lin Zhong."
"Lord Dumpling knows him too!"
"Really?"
"Yes, yes! Lord Dumpling even saw him last ti!" Tuanzi said repeatedly. "He offered lots of tasty things and a cell phone! Do you know what a cell phone is?"
"I do."
"What is it?"
"It's a human thing."
"That's right..."
Tuanzi chattered nonstop, her tone very childlike. Zhou Li was sowhat surprised. This fierce Great Demon was actually so patient. Such a stark contrast. This continued until the battle between Huai Xu and Yue Yin began.
Huai Xu, an assassin with ultra-high mobility and high agility and attack, could easily launch a dinsion-reducing strike on most Demons. Even among the Great Demons, if one lacked strong defensive capabilities and alertness, it was very easy for them to get decapitated by his sudden attack. Their head wouldn't even hit the ground before he had run a thousand miles away to steal beef jerky.
However, against a behemoth like Zhu Jiu, tough-skinned and thick-fleshed, he would find it hard to strike.
And Yue Yin seed to be not so easy to provoke either, with quite a background, although he had already fought several battles.
Confronting an enemy directly wasn't beneficial to Huai Xu; his specialty was surprising people when they were unguarded—perhaps enjoying hotpot and singing songs—and suddenly appearing to take their lives.
So Zhou Li was quite worried about him.
The two combatants bowed to each other, as was customary.
"Begin!"
Zhu Jiu declared it, his voice booming like thunder throughout the forest, stirring excitent in all the Demons.
BOOM!
From afar, a red flash appeared. It was actually countless red lights streaking across the sky like a teor shower, headed for the spot where Huai Xu had been standing. Their speed was so fast and the distance so short that the eyes couldn't capture their trajectory. The lights seed like fleeting flashes, almost mistaken for an illusion.
Following that, the mountaintop's center exploded. Smoke instantly billowed out, much more intensely than in TV dramas.
Zhou Li widened his eyes, straining to see, but there was no sign of Huai Xu.
A second later, Yue Yin had changed positions and posture, while a new wound on his chest oozed blood, staining his robe red.
Zhou Li continued to focus intently. Unfortunately, the combatants were moving too fast, and he still couldn't see clearly. Just as his eyes flickered, Yue Yin spun around, his face gaining a new scratch, yet Zhou Li had never actually seen Huai Xu.
The Great Devil King was indeed the Great Devil King.
The surrounding Demons also exclaid in surprise. Perhaps they could see a bit; the ones with better vision might see more detail.
"Lord Yue Yin is so passive."
"Indeed."
"And Lord Yue Yin was already very tired from the previous fights and had received so injuries."
"How shaless!"
"He's changing strategies!"
After a brief exchange, Yue Yin realized that no matter how fast he was or how quick his response, he could not outpace Huai Xu. So, he decided to respond to all changes by not changing at all. He stood alone at the very center of the mountaintop, his arms and hands naturally spread open, and he even closed his eyes. At that mont, his hair floated and his wide sleeves fluttered. If one ignored his appearance, he indeed had a touch of celestial charm.
Zhou Li could hear the Demons around discussing, not lacking in praise for Yue Yin's deanor.
Then Yue Yin raised his hand—
CRACKLE!
Countless crimson bolts of lightning appeared out of nowhere, forming a dense web that enveloped his body. Then nurous orbs of light gathered outside, filling the space two to three ters around him, layer upon layer, in a tight defense.
These red lights, however, were much dimr than the ones that had exploded out of the fog during the fight with Zhu Jiu.
Zhu Jiu, lying beneath Zhou Li, explained, "Lord Yue Yin is entering a defensive state now. These red lights contain imnse destructive power and will detonate upon contact. Thus, if Huai Xu attacks Lord Yue Yin, he will inevitably get injured."
How cruel.
