Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Descending the Mountain, An Overview of the Fang Family

Fang Yun took a special two-day rest to let his body, weary from two months of labor, relax and recover.

This was the consequence of not being able to use Mana; otherwise, as a cultivator, even with just a Qi Cultivation level one, he wouldn’t have been this exhausted.

Afterward, he went to the spirit field, ticulously observing those spirit rice plants, checking for any negative emotions or abnormal conditions.

In fact, even during the busy tis in the canyon, he didn’t forget to co every day to observe and pull out weeds.

So, basically, nothing went wrong.

These spirit rice plants, after more than four months of vigorous growth, had already reached a height of more than ten centiters above the water’s surface.

...

And they had grown seven or eight tender green leaves.

Due to the continuous effect of the Spirit Stones in the spirit field, the spirit rice did not exhibit any signs of Spiritual Energy deficiency.

Fang Yun picked up the Spirit Stones from the spirit field and inspected them carefully, pleasantly surprised to find that the Spiritual Energy consumption had not even reached ten percent.

If the consumption continued at this rate, these six Spirit Stones would be more than enough to support the spirit rice to maturity.

For Fang Yun, who was strapped for cash, this was undoubtedly an encouraging piece of news.

After resting for two days and waiting for his body to fully recover,

Fang Yun headed down the mountain, hoping that the clan elders at the foot of the hill could help him find so seeds.

Fang Yun did not plan to use all the hundreds of acres of land in the canyon to plant rice.

On one hand, not all of the land in the canyon was suitable for rice cultivation.

On the other hand, as an experintal field, if he only planted one type of crop, it wouldn’t greatly benefit his research on the Golden Finger.

Following the winding mountain path down, Fang Yun soon saw a courtyard at the foot of the mountain.

Just as he was about to step forward, he saw the courtyard gate wide open, and two old n, accompanied by a large group of people, hurriedly rushed to greet him.

Fang Yun was puzzled about how they knew he was coming down the mountain even though he hadn’t notified them.

However, when he looked back up the mountain, he realized that from here, one could clearly see so parts of the mountain path.

It seed that soone in the courtyard must have been observing the mountain path year-round.

That was why they were able to co out to greet him as soon as he ca down the mountain.

In this regard, the two clan elders were quite attentive.

“Clan Leader, why did you co down from the mountain yourself? If you need anything, just give an order, and I’ll personally bring it up to you,”

said one of the old n, stepping briskly in front of Fang Yun with utmost respect.

From the mory of his forr self, Fang Yun knew that the old man in front of him was nad Fang Lin, and the other old man was nad Fang Zhou.

They both lived in the courtyard at the foot of the mountain, serving him, the cultivator.

However, Fang Yun felt speechless about the flattery in the old man’s words just now.

On the entire mountain, he lived alone, and without telephones in this world, if he needed anything, wouldn’t he have to co down the mountain to inform them?

Nevertheless, Fang Yun did not fuss over the logical flaw in Fang Lin’s words.

Instead, he politely said, “There’s no need to be so courteous, clan elder. The journey down the mountain isn’t too far, just a stroll along the way!

I ca down this ti because I urgently need so seeds. I wonder what the current seed situation in the clan is, and what types can be provided?”

Fang Zhou, standing nearby, furrowed his brows in thought for a mont, “Clan Leader, do you need seeds of Spiritual Objects? We don’t have such things in our clan right now. If we did, they’d be in the collections of past cultivators, not with us!”

Upon hearing Fang Yun’s request, they instinctively assud that he needed the seeds of Spiritual Objects. After all, as a cultivator, what would he want with regular seeds?

However, Fang Yun shook his head at this mont, “I don’t need seeds of Spiritual Objects. Just so ordinary seeds will suffice!”

Hearing that Fang Yun only needed ordinary seeds, the two old n breathed a sigh of relief. Fang Lin imdiately said, “Ordinary seeds? Clan Leader, we have plenty of those. I’ll have soone bring them to you right away.

Clan Leader, please rest inside for a while. You’ve never co down the mountain since you went up.

There are many clan matters, and I just happen to take this opportunity to talk with you!” Saying this, he led the way ahead.

Fang Yun thought briefly and followed him inside.

Then he saw Fang Zhou start arranging for the people beside him to rush outside the courtyard.

Knowing they were off to find what he needed, Fang Yun followed Fang Lin into the main hall of the courtyard.

As he drank the tea respectfully offered by the servants, he sat for a while.

Fang Lin, holding several book-like items, hurried out from behind the screen in the hall.

He sat down beside Fang Yun, placed the books on the table, then said, “Clan Leader, since you went up the mountain to cultivate a year ago, you haven’t co down. I haven’t had the chance to clearly explain the specifics of our Fang Family to you.

This is the personnel roster of our Fang Family, and another book is our financial account books.

Why don’t you take so ti to look them over?”

Fang Yun glanced at Fang Lin, then at the books in his hand, and subsequently shook his head, “Clan elder, I am currently in a crucial phase of cultivation and really don’t have the ti to delve into these matters.

Since I have a bit of free ti now, why don’t you pick so important things and tell about them.

When I have more free ti in the future, I’ll take a more thorough look!”

Fang Lin thought for a mont, nodded, and placed the books aside, then said, “I’ll give you a simple explanation!

Our Fang Family ca to Spirit Water Island hundreds of years ago.

Initially, the ancestor of the Fang Family was a loose cultivator in the Wind Spirit Sea Domain, who, by chance, discovered the Spiritual Spring on Spirit Water Island.

Then they flourished on this island, establishing the Fang Family.

Over hundreds of years, our Fang Family faced many crises but withstood them all.

And the family mbers gradually increased, reaching tens of thousands, with rice fields covering hundreds of thousands of acres.

The only pity is that the Spiritual Energy in the Spring is too scarce, only able to support one cultivator.

Even as prosperous as we are, the Fang Family still faces the risk of annihilation.

From this perspective, we are sowhat embarrassed for our ancestors!”

At this point, Fang Lin looked at Fang Yun and said, “Clan Leader, if I may be bold, I hope you can cultivate diligently, rise to higher realms, and nurture more cultivators for our Fang Family. Only then can our Fang Family beco increasingly prosperous and continue for generations!”

Fang Yun listened to these words and nodded solemnly. Even if Fang Lin hadn’t said anything, he was determined to cultivate earnestly.

After all, on the path of cultivation, who doesn’t want to reach greater heights?
