Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Descending the Mountain

After placing the Spirit Stones properly, Fang Yun spent the following days constantly guarding the spirit field.

Even the daily routine of healing was not conducted back in the cave.

After all, his thod of healing was rely using Mana to nourish the ridians, which could be done anywhere.

The Spiritual Energy in the Spiritual Spring, given his current condition, couldn’t be absorbed for cultivation purposes.

At present, the Spirit Rice in the spirit field was at a critical mont, other matters had to be temporarily set aside.

Only when the Spirit Rice overca this difficult phase, could he be at ease.

...

After several days of close observation, Fang Yun discovered that his initial thoughts were correct, the Spirit Stones in the field indeed rged part of the Spiritual Energy into the soil with the constant washing of the spring water.

The previously emotionally unusual Spirit Rice had returned to normal over these few days.

And the other Spirit Rice didn’t show any problems either, instead, they exuded a sense of satisfaction.

With this, Fang Yun finally felt relieved.

Following that, Fang Yun continued his observations for several more days, the growth of the Spirit Rice was still normal, with no anomalies.

In this phase, there were no pests appearing either, and whenever weeds grew, Fang Yun promptly removed them.

The consumption rate of the Spirit Stones in the spirit field was not as fast as he had imagined.

In such a situation, Fang Yun left the spirit field with peace of mind and returned to the cave.

In non-urgent situations, even if unable to cultivate, staying at the mouth of the cave was more comfortable, at least it spared him from the wind and the sun.

For the next month, Fang Yun traveled back and forth between the spirit field and the cave.

He continued healing while observing the growth of the Spirit Rice.

The growth of the Spirit Rice went smoothly, and after one month, it sprouted a few new leaves.

It was one step closer to maturity.

At this ti, however, Fang Yun started to feel bored.

He didn’t have this feeling when he was busy, but now as the Spirit Rice was growing smoothly, he only needed to check them occasionally to see if any of the plants showed abnormal emotions.

Then, as usual, he would remove any weeds and that would be all.

At this stage, there were no pests appearing yet, the only danger to the Spirit Rice were those weeds.

Weeding ultimately didn’t take much ti.

And due to the injuries in his ridians, Fang Yun was temporarily unable to cultivate.

Thus, he had a lot of free ti each day.

Previously during his free ti, Fang Yun could take out the Chang Chun Skill to read.

Now, he had beco bored of reading that secret manual, even morizing it thoroughly by heart.

But even though he knew it well, in the inability to cultivate, the content of the book could hardly be put to any practical use.

In such a situation, the idle days beca almost unbearable for Fang Yun.

The only Golden Finger panel still displayed the sa data, two months had gone by, no matter what he did, it showed no changes at all.

From this aspect, it was evident that during these two months, there had been little to no improvent in his strength or control over plants.

And on this mountain, considering the vital importance of the Spiritual Spring, other than Fang Yun the cultivator, it was strictly forbidden for common people to enter.

Even the elders of the Fang Family only ca up to the mountain in urgent situations, otherwise, they resided at the base of the mountain or within the town.

This made it impossible for Fang Yun to find soone to talk to.

On this day, after Fang Yun carefully inspected the Spirit Rice in the spirit field and did so weeding, he then checked the consumption of the Spirit Stones.

After finishing all this, he had completed his tasks for today.

However, at this mont, Fang Yun did not want to return to the cave again.

Because today’s healing task had been completed, and if he were to go back, there would be nothing else to do except for flipping through the Chang Chun Skill book, which he had already read many tis.

It would be better to take a walk down the mountain. Since arriving in this world over two months ago, Fang Yun had never left this mountain.

Nor had he seen anyone other than himself.

It was ti to go down the mountain for a stroll.

After all, with his identity as a Cultivator, even if he encountered people from the Fang Family at the foot of the mountain, he probably wouldn’t face any danger.

With a plan in mind, Fang Yun still, as a precaution, took a fine iron sword left behind by a previous generation Cultivator and wore it on his body, before leaving the cave.

Rather than walking down the usual mountain path, he followed the flow of the spring, heading towards the foot of the mountain.

The spring water flowed down from the spirit field towards the mountain’s foot, not in a straight line,

But in the mountain’s rocky crevices, constantly turning and winding, passing through nurous places before finally reaching the foot of the mountain.

Following the direction of the flowing spring, Fang Yun moved forward, benefiting from the nourishnt of the water, witnessing a thriving landscape along the way.

Trees were lush, grasslands were verdant, flowers were competing in beauty, and there were various types of rare plants he had never seen before, and Fang Yun even discovered so approximated dicinal herbs among them.

It seed that many years had passed since these things had last been harvested.

Indeed, these things were ignored by Cultivators and unreachable by ordinary people.

They could only continuously grow, wither, and then grow again, constantly experiencing such cycles.

While admiring the charming scenery along the way, Fang Yun’s mood instantly beca much more pleasant.

Moreover, seeing these plants, Fang Yun’s occupational instincts kicked in, making him eager to stop right there and start researching.

To explore the secrets hidden within these plants.

However, ultimately, Fang Yun managed to resist the urge.

At this stage, his main tasks were still healing, cultivating Spirit Rice, and exploring his Golden Finger.

Once these aspects were settled, then Fang Yun could spare ti to research these rare plants and achieve twice the results with half the effort.

Rather than wasting ti on these plants now, which might lead to losing out on bigger opportunities.

Having set his plan, he continued walking towards the mountain’s foot.

After a while, Fang Yun finally reached the foot of the mountain. Following the direction of the flowing spring, he saw a wide, majestic river that was hundreds of ters wide.

Walking along the great river for a short while, Fang Yun finally saw endless paddy fields in front of him.

At this ti, the paddy fields were in the seedling stage, and the entire field was a vibrant green.

A surge of boldness spontaneously arose in Fang Yun’s chest.

Although these paddy fields were not planted by him personally, as the Clan Leader of the Fang Family, he still had so control over them.

If in the future his farming skills could improve, and he could find better rice varieties along with thoroughly researching his Golden Finger,

Then these vast and boundless paddy fields would beco his ideal experintal fields.
