"Got a girlfriend?"

Li Ruolan couldn’t help but laugh as she looked at her son’s haggard face, feeling unstoppable elation inside.

Shen Liguang shifted his gaze away, dodging the topic: "I’m going to sleep for a bit."

Li Ruolan just smiled without a word: "Yes, yes, sleep, sleep. I’ll go make breakfast."

Seeing her son unable to sleep over feelings, Li Ruolan felt good and humd a tune as she left the house.

"I can’t sleep and you’re happy about it?" Shen Liguang couldn’t help but laugh.

Li Ruolan turned back, beaming: "Of course, my son has a girl he likes, how can I not be happy?"

Shen Liguang chuckled: "What if your son were a beast?"

Li Ruolan puzzled: "What’s wrong? You like n?"

"What are you thinking?" Shen Liguang laughed uncontrollably, "Your son’s sexual orientation is normal."

"How about bringing the girl over to et soday?"

Shen Liguang paused, his tongue lightly licking his thin lips: "Maybe in a few years."

Hearing this, Li Ruolan frowned: "Wait a few years? You don’t have many ’few years’ left, you’re already twenty-five."

Grumbling unhappily, Li Ruolan left the house.

Shen Liguang checked the ti; it was six in the morning.

Fu Ying arrived at school and, as she got out of the car, extraordinarily saw Shen Liguang at the station platform.

He was in a white shirt, sleeves casually rolled up; under the morning sun, he looked so dazzling that it made everyone else lose their color.

Fu Ying imdiately lowered her head and took a deep breath.

Why is he here?

"What are you dazing for? Hurry up and get inside!" Fu Yan’s voice ca, unfriendly and impatient.

"Oh." Fu Ying ca back to her senses, feeling a bit guilty, and quickly entered the school.

Fu Yan, wearing a suspicious expression, looked towards the station across the street.

Wondering what kind of view had stolen the young girl’s heart.

At that mont, Shen Liguang looked up from his phone and glanced in the direction of the little girl, who disappeared among the crowd of students with her backpack.

Shen Liguang held a hairpin in his hand and gave a helpless, bitter smile before boarding a bus.

Fu Yan frowned, deep in thought.

...

Having taken a seat in the classroom, Fu Ying heard Li Hanyi’s wail: "We’re dood, we’re dood, there’s a parent-teacher conference this afternoon, I haven’t even dared to tell my mom about my grades."

As Li Hanyi was wailing, Du Yong ca in limping, likely after being beaten up the day before.

Seeing this, Li Hanyi imdiately started mocking Du Yong, his previously downcast face now laughing uncontrollably: "Dude, what happened to you? How did the strong man beco crippled?"

Du Yong, in pain, shoved away Li Hanyi’s hand, cursing irritably: "Get lost!"

"Got beaten up last night?"

"That? No way, that was ’love’s caress.’"

Lin Lishan turned around and asked Fu Ying, "You were okay last night?"

Fu Ying smiled: "My dad is much gentler."

During the morning reading, Fu Ying was studying when Li Hanyi sneakily poked her from behind: "Boss, that man who pretended to be your parent last ti, where did you find him? Get one too?"

Fu Ying turned around and saw Li Hanyi’s grinning face: "My brother’s friend, you better not do that, be careful not to get caught by the teacher."

Li Hanyi brimd with confidence: "We’ve been pretending to be parents since middle school, we’ve never ssed up."

"Tsk tsk tsk." Du Yong couldn’t help but mock him, "How co you’ve never been beaten up? Turns out you never dared tell your parents."

Li Hanyi kicked him, causing Du Yong to howl in pain.

In the afternoon, right after the first class, it was ti for the parent-teacher eting, and parents started to trickle into the school.

Li Hanyi made a last-minute plea for Du Yong to find him a "parent" at the talent market, and while Fu Ying was waiting for Fu Mingchuan at the school gate, she saw the "parent" Du Yong had found for Li Hanyi.

It was a beautiful woman, elegant in every move.

Li Hanyi suddenly got nervous, walked up to the woman awkwardly, and nervously asked, "Could you, perhaps, pretend to be my sister?"

The woman smiled: "Shouldn’t I be your mother?"

Li Hanyi, young and slick, replied: "You look much younger than my mom."

The woman laughed heartily: "So young and yet so slick?"

Fu Ying looked at Fu Mingchuan and noticed he was staring at the woman; with a hint of lancholy, she called out, "Dad."

Fu Mingchuan snapped back to reality, a bit embarrassed: "Ahem, let’s go to your classroom."

Fu Ying understood Fu Mingchuan; after all, being single and caring for several kids for years without seeking anyone, it’s normal he felt lonely.

On the way to the classroom, Fu Ying, with extra care, said: "Dad, why don’t you find a stepmom? I don’t mind."

Fu Mingchuan was so touched he almost burst into tears; these years, being both mom and dad, he truly hadn’t thought about finding a companion.

It’s just that the loneliness each deep night was real.

He was fine with his son, always caring about his daughter’s feelings, always thinking she would oppose him finding soone else, yet today she said this to him.

Fu Mingchuan lovingly stroked her head: "My Yingying is so understanding."

Upon entering the classroom, Fu Mingchuan saw Wen Qing, was surprised for a mont, then awkwardly smiled and made his way to the second last row.

He’d never resented his daughter’s feelings, but today he suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.

During the parent-teacher eting, Fu Ying sneaked out with Lin Lishan and a few others.

Only top students like Wen Tian stayed to talk about studying and morals on stage.

Out on the sports field, a few kids played on the fitness equipnt.

Fu Ying leaned on the railing, watching the boys playing basketball on the field, suddenly wishing to grow up fast, thinking if she were the age of Xia Jinyun, she would have the courage to confess her feelings.

Sadly, age isn’t sothing one can change, and ti waits for no one.

Would that man wait for her to grow up?

Or would he marry another woman and have children, leaving her forgotten thousands of miles away?

Fu Ying felt an uncontrollable urge deep inside and secretly made a decision.

If he was still alone when she turned eighteen, she would confess her feelings, success or failure notwithstanding. She didn’t want to have regrets.

The evening twilight bathed the girl’s face, masking the blush that had spread due to her thoughts about the man.

That girl, seemingly lost in thoughts, suddenly laughed out loud, her clear eyes curving like crescent moons.

Lin Lishan approached her, smiling, "Are you smitten?"

Fu Ying half-jokingly replied: "Thinking about a man."

Lin Lishan laughed, pressing her for details: "Tell more?"

Fu Ying shook her head, suddenly recalling a dream about being entwined passionately in the wild, almost as if it were real.

She quickly buried her face in her shoulder, blushing and laughing.

Lin Lishan looked at her, puzzled and thinking the kid was ill.
