The weather started to heat up, and the plane trees on either side of the school blocked half of the sunlight, with fluff beginning to fly everywhere.
Sumr in Jiazhou City had arrived.
Lin Lishan was prepping all day for the postgraduate entrance exams, studying every day. Sotis, Fu Ying admired her persistence; she had stressed herself out during high school, and could relax a bit more in university. Unexpectedly, both of them were now striving for the postgraduate exams.
Fu Ying handed her a cup of water: "Don’t push yourself too hard, rember to balance work and rest."
Lin Lishan nodded and stood up to stretch lazily: "Hmm, will you walk with ?"
Lin Lishan hadn’t been out for a walk in a long ti; she was mostly holed up in the dorm studying.
Only then did she notice, the plane trees on both sides had grown lush and full of life.
"How long has it been since we last walked like this?"
Fu Ying shook her head: "I’ve forgotten, probably since you started preparing for the exams."
Lin Lishan didn’t speak, just smiled slightly, tilting her face up to the warm sumr breeze, the willow fluff tickling her face.
"Sumr, it ca so quickly."
Fu Ying gently nodded: "Yeah, it really has."
Little Shenghui can turn over by himself now.
Lin Lishan took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of moist earth after the rain.
"Have you thought about what you’ll do after graduation?"
Fu Ying thought for a mont: "I want to be like him."
To be like him, to be a useful person.
The girl’s voice was soft, hardly causing any ripples, as if ti was peacefully passing, serene and gentle.
Lin Lishan said: "That’s good, I haven’t treated you in a long ti, I’ll buy dinner today."
"Let’s have spicy hot pot, my family has a new mother, so we’ve been eating bland food."
"I’ll treat you to anything."
Jin Can leaned against the plane tree while smoking, watching the two girls, one girl smiling demurely, tranquil and graceful.
Beside him, a young follower was keen: "Sister Can, you like that girl, we could corner her tonight."
Jin Can, smoking, smiled slightly: "Not a bad idea."
"Then let’s do it, I’ll take a couple of guys and block her on her way ho from school."
"Block your sister, let’s go."
"Huh? Sister Can don’t like her?"
Jin Can glanced at him lightly: "I like your sister; have her clean herself up and co to my bed tonight."
The young follower touched his nose, following Jin Can.
...
Night fell, the city lights bright and lively. Fu Ying and Lin Lishan split up at the school gate, Fu Ying bought fruits on the way to the apartnt.
At night, Fu Ying curled up in his arms watching a movie, his large hand holding hers, gently playing with her fingers.
Fu Ying loved to spend quiet monts like this with him, watching a movie, days passing serene and beautiful.
Perhaps due to staying in the deep palace, her mother’s household was desolate, with few visitors, and she t few people, so her personality was quite reserved, which made her appreciate calm and enduring days.
She focused on the movie, shifting slightly.
Shen Liguang looked down at her, the young girl secretly rubbing her eyes in his arms.
Only the flickering light of the TV filled the living room, casting a light that made her tearful face glow.
Shen Liguang lowered his head, resting his chin on her shoulder: "What’s up?"
"This movie is really upsetting."
"Such sensitivity."
Fu Ying shook her head: "I just can’t stand seeing this."
As she spoke, she buried her face into his chest.
Indeed, it was a very sad movie, about a father with the intelligence of a six-year-old, falsely accused of molesting and murdering a little girl, sentenced to death, and imprisoned; thereafter, Cell No. 7 has had an extra gift.
A gift longed for in Cell No. 7, under threats a father with the intelligence of a six-year-old confessed to a murder he did not commit.
In the end, the little girl overturned the case for her deceased father and he was exonerated, but the man had already been executed many years before.
By the end of the movie, Fu Ying, curled up in his arms, was tugging at his pajama shirt and wiping her tears.
Shen Liguang felt both helpless and amused.
Crying over a movie, what would they do later.
"No more tears."
Fu Ying’s eyes were red, and this warning seed to really work.
"Sleep?"
Fu Ying nodded.
"Go brush your teeth, you just had so sweets."
Fu Ying nodded again and obediently went to brush her teeth.
At night, Fu Ying lay in bed, unable to sleep, and turned her face to the side.
The room was dark, with a bit of light seeping through the curtains. Fu Ying could vaguely see the outline of his face.
Sharp and rugged.
The man suddenly spoke, "Are you peeking at your brother again?"
Fu Ying averted her gaze to the side, "No."
"Then you’re not sleeping."
"I can’t sleep."
"Why can’t you sleep?"
The room was quiet, his voice gentle and low.
Fu Ying reached out to him, "Brother, hand your phone, I’ll look at it for a while and then sleep."
Fu Ying took the phone and opened QQ, Shen Liguang watched as her phone screen kept showing QQ ssage notifications.
At his age, he seldom used QQ.
When he did, it was mostly because he had a kid, and there were parent groups in QQ.
In general, he really didn’t log in much.
"Add a QQ?"
He went to find his phone, waiting to add a friend.
"Add, add QQ?"
"Yes."
She had initially made a secondary account to add him on QQ, but then got inexplicably blocked, so she changed her main account’s nickna to "It’s Hope," because his na was "Dawn Light," making it sound like a couple’s nickna.
Fu Ying fumbled around, trying to change her userna.
He grew a bit impatient, furrowing his brows, "Are you adding or not?"
"Adding." Fu Ying quickly changed her userna before daring to give him her QQ number.
The girl’s userna was "Ying," and her profile picture was a cute cartoon ani character.
Shen Liguang leaned against the bed, licked his lips, and suddenly beca interested in checking her QQ space.
It was full of pretentious words, as if plagued by love.
"Your space is quite interesting."
Fu Ying’s cheeks flad, her space held too many secrets, over those years, she had been pretentious in her space too.
Non-mainstream lancholic texts.
Love statuses.
Sentences about life and death.
She posted a lot.
Back then, everyone had it.
"Stop looking." Fu Ying tried to snatch his phone but was restrained by a hand.
"For ?" The man looked at her and asked.
Fu Ying stopped struggling, biting her lip, "Yeah."
He kept scrolling through her space, chuckling at so sentence, his voice carrying a light laughter, "Liked it that deeply?"
Fu Ying, hearing the amusent in his tone, beca flustered, "Stop looking, I was just posting randomly."
The diary incident was embarrassing enough, now having her QQ space examined too.
The content in the QQ space was pretty embarrassing as well.
Looking through it one by one, it felt as if she had been deeply hurt by love.
As a child, she hadn’t thought much of it, but growing up, she realized how silly and pretentious she was then.
Shen Liguang clicked on the comnt board, casually scrolling down and noticed so ambiguous comnts, all from one person.
Shen Liguang’s brows slightly furrowed, lifting his eyes to look at her, his expression complex.
"Are you still Wu Xiaowu’s number one online girlfriend?"
Fu Ying instinctively let out a sound, "Ah, no, I’m not."
"Then what’s this?"
The man showed her the phone, that incredibly handso userna still comnting on the ssage board.
"Would you like to explain?"
Fu Ying licked her lips, "I’m saying, it wasn’t who was in an online relationship, you believe it was my younger brother?"
"What do you think?" The man looked up and retorted.
"At that ti, I didn’t like you yet. Isn’t it normal to have soone I liked? I wasn’t liking you and soone else at the sa ti."
