Chapter 96: Chapter 89: Solidification! New Skill, New Trait

’Elents that exceed the world’s background?’

Fang Zhen raised an eyebrow, his gaze fixed on the screen.

’What elents in the Redstone Town Mine exceeded the world’s background?’

He racked his brain and could only co up with two things.

One was the demonic black smoke that appeared when he burned the sheepskin scroll.

The other was the unusual state of intense Spiritual Power concentration he experienced while learning the guidance technique.

Other than that, Magic was sothing that already existed in the Naless World. He couldn’t think of anything else that was out of the ordinary.

Fang Zhen glanced at the two correction options on the screen and made his decision.

’Option 2. No hesitation.’

It was obvious that trans-limit elents were far rarer and more precious than rit Points.

In Option 1, the Dungeon Life Ga offered to reclaim the trans-limit elent in exchange for compensation.

It wasn’t that he completely distrusted the fairness of the Dungeon Life Ga, but he had his doubts.

’Intelligent arbitration... but how intelligent? I have no idea. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call it a black box.’

He didn’t like the sound of that.

Besides, Fang Zhen still rembered a news story from years ago.

"A farr found an Ancient Bronze Sword worth twenty million, turned it in to the state, and was rewarded with 800 yuan."

The farr’s actions in the story were comndable and perfectly legal, and the state hadn’t done anything wrong either. But the story itself sounded sowhat absurd.

The Dungeon Life Ga wasn’t the governnt, and Fang Zhen had no intention of choosing Option 1. It would be laughable if sothing similar happened to him.

So, Option 2 it was.

From the looks of it, this trans-limit elent was extrely valuable. The options provided by the Dungeon Life Ga made that clear. Option 1 offered Fang Zhen compensation, while Option 2 required him to *add* 100 rit Points just for the chance to roll a die.

Viewed that way, the trans-limit elent had to be worth an incredible amount.

’It’s worth the gamble.’

Fang Zhen made his choice.

He moved the mouse and decisively selected ’Option 2’.

"Your rit Points have been reduced by 100."

The ssage appeared in a dialog box.

At the sa ti, a twenty-four-sided die gradually materialized on the computer screen.

Once on the screen, the die pulsed with a faint light. Below it was a ’Roll’ option.

Fang Zhen took a deep breath and clicked ’Roll’.

Instantly, the twenty-four-sided die began to spin rapidly on the screen.

Fang Zhen’s breathing quickened as he stared at the screen, waiting for the result.

1D24 ant one roll of a twenty-four-sided die.

True random, with no modifiers.

The opposite of true random is pseudo-random, a typical application of which is the shuffle feature on a music player.

When music players first introduced the shuffle feature, they briefly used true random playback. However, they were forced to change it due to user complaints. The users’ reasoning was, ’Playing the sa song twenty-seven tis in a row isn’t random, it’s fake random.’

The player companies couldn’t exactly voice their grievances. The fact was, true randomness can produce any result. The probability of a single song from a playlist being selected twenty-seven tis in a row is minuscule, but with true randomness, it’s still possible.

Left with no choice, the music player companies switched from true random to a modified pseudo-random, which is the shuffle function used by most music players today.

Fang Zhen guessed that the Dungeon Life Ga specifically ntioned the roll was true random to remind him that extre outcos were possible in any future situations requiring a random dice roll.

The die on the screen gradually slowed to a stop.

That was the number it landed on.

A faint golden light emanated from the screen.

Fang Zhen clenched his right fist and pumped it in the air.

"Congratulations. The result of the roll is 17. You will retain the ability that exceeds the world’s background elents.

You have solidified the Trans-Limit Ability: ’Source Power’.

Source Power: A fundantal, mystical power that transcends the background limitations of dungeon worlds. It possesses the ability to convert into almost any Extraordinary Power from any different world. With Source Power, you can convert it into the unique Extraordinary Powers of a world, regardless of its background or power system.

This is a remarkable power. Please use it wisely and do not squander this hard-won ability."

The ssage appeared in a pale gold dialog box.

’Source Power? This is it?’

As Fang Zhen read the description of Source Power, his scalp tingled and goosebumps erupted on his skin.

He understood.

Source Power could be converted into the Extraordinary Powers of most worlds within the Dungeon Life Ga.

’Does this an that in the vast majority of dungeon worlds, as long as I et the conditions, I can directly learn that world’s Extraordinary Powers without any conflict?’

The realization hit him, and the hairs on his arms stood on end with excitent.

He shot to his feet and paced back and forth in his room two or three tis in his excitent.

’Isn’t this basically like having the Little Faceless Skill from Jin Yong’s wuxia novels? No, it’s even more badass than the Little Faceless Skill!’

’No wonder it was a trans-limit elent. Damn, this is insane!’

Seeing the description of the Source Power ability, Fang Zhen realized sothing.

The Dungeon Life Ga had different world tiers—Naless, Normal, Elite, Hero, Legend, and so on—a deep vertical progression. But horizontally, even within the sa tier, there were probably many different worlds.

If all these worlds had their own Extraordinary Elents, the overall setting would be incredibly rich, but it would also lead to an unavoidable problem.

’What do you do when faced with the chaos and conflict of different Extraordinary Powers from different world backgrounds?’
