Once they were ready, the three of them waited for the distant car to approach.

The car was distant, but it only took about a minute to drive over, and it quickly arrived at the cabin.

The car stopped, its headlights still on, and three n got out.

Fang Zhen sized them up. They were all xicans, radiating a murderous aura. They looked to be in their late thirties or forties, with the typical features of indigenous people from xico.

Ke Liangjie, who had been trying to look cool, shed his pretense and walked forward. He put on a friendly act and went to greet them with a fist bump.

However, the three xicans barely even glanced at him. They showed no reaction at all, just stared coldly at Ke Liangjie's one-sided enthusiasm.

Ke Liangjie felt foolish and awkward. He pulled back his outstretched hand and rubbed his nose to hide his social discomfort.

"Bro, you bring the goods?" Ke Liangjie asked.

Hearing this, the three xicans finally reacted, as if he had spoken a keyword.

The leader, a xican with long, wavy black hair, turned his head and pursed his lips. Another man behind him, who seed to have the lowest status of the three, gave a slight nod and walked reluctantly toward the back of the car.

The man opened the car's trunk.

Fang Zhen wanted to see the guns, so he started to walk forward.

But the two xicans at the front of the car simultaneously reached for their waistbands. They were clearly ard.

"He's the money man, the buyer."

"We have to inspect the goods, right?"

Ke Liangjie said.

As Ke Liangjie spoke, his tone was still unconsciously subservient and a little sycophantic.

The leader of the xicans heard him, glanced at Fang Zhen, and then nodded.

Only then did the other two n take their hands off their waists.

Fang Zhen said nothing, his face calm and expressionless.

He had already sized up the situation.

As expected, Ke Liangjie was a gang mber. It was hard to say which gang—maybe the Big Circle Gang, or so other Chinese triad, or sothing else entirely.

These three xicans were definitely from a xican cartel.

It was obvious that even though they were all gangsters, Ke Liangjie's status was lower than the three xicans'.

Common sense dictated that among gangsters, the more ruthless and powerful you were, the more respect you commanded.

Fang Zhen wasn't particularly bothered. He had ntally prepared himself for this.

He was trying to buy so heavy hardware through unofficial channels, so encountering dealers like this was predictable. There was no need to be surprised.

He walked to the back of the car.

Inside the trunk was a long wooden crate painted black. Fang Zhen didn't know if there was any special significance to this type of crate, but they were generally used for packing weapons and ammunition.

The xican at the back still looked reluctant and lazy, but his movents were not slow. He opened the wooden crate.

Inside the long, black crate lay a sniper rifle, an assault rifle, eight hand grenades, and two landmines that looked like plastic cans.

Fang Zhen's eyes lit up slightly when he saw the contents.

'These xicans are the real deal, managing to get their hands on all this,' he thought.

Beside Fang Zhen, Ke Liangjie also forgot his social awkwardness. His eyes shone as he stared at the equipnt before them.

"An AWP sniper rifle. This is police and military-grade, with extrely high precision and reliability... It's very expensive because it's made with high-precision manufacturing and processing equipnt."

"The standard AWP barrel is 24 inches, though other accessory barrels are available. It weighs between 6.4 and 6.8 kilograms. You can get it in .243, .300, and .338 calibers. This one must be a .338."

"The standard magazine capacity is ten rounds, but since this is a .338 caliber, it probably only holds five."

"The effective range depends on the caliber and the shooter's skill, but it's usually between 800 and 1,200 ters. With the .338 Lapua Magnum caliber, the effective range can be even greater."

"This rifle is famous for its high precision, typically within one minute of angle. That ans at a distance of 100 yards, the shot grouping is within 2.9 centiters."

"You guys actually managed to get your hands on this gun?"

Ke Liangjie seed like a different person, his eyes gleaming. He stared at the AWP sniper rifle in the wooden crate and even reached out to touch it.

But the xican guarding the guns slapped his hand away.

The xican had a look of disgust on his face and didn't even bother to say a word.

Ke Liangjie looked miffed, but he quickly perked up again.

"And an HK416 assault rifle! It's recognized as a highly reliable and durable rifle, German-made, world-famous. It's an expensive piece, too—around three thousand US dollars for one."

"These landmines... are these M14 anti-personnel mines? You guys can even get your hands on these?"

"They're made of plastic, which makes them hard to detect once they're deployed. The mine body has only 8 grams of tal, making it difficult for standard mine detectors to find."

"The price of M14 mines isn't public. Their production and sale are usually classified and strictly limited by international laws and treaties."

"The Ottawa Treaty already bans the use of this type of anti-personnel mine. Even if they exist, they're supposed to be made of steel for easier detection. Not even the military has many of these in stock. How did you manage to get two?"

"And M57 fragntation grenades, MK3A offensive grenades..."

"Where did you guys get all this stuff? Did you steal it straight from a military warehouse?"

Ke Liangjie was extrely excited, rattling off the nas and stats of the weapons as if they were his prized possessions.

Even Fang Zhen couldn't help but give Ke Liangjie a second look.

'Looks like besides being a gangster, Ke Liangjie is also a military enthusiast. For a gangbanger, knowing all this is quite impressive,' he thought.

The xicans couldn't be bothered to pay Ke Liangjie any attention.

In truth, Fang Zhen was also pleasantly surprised.

Before he ca, Li Zoyi had ntioned that this seller wasn't a legitimate channel, so they couldn't provide a detailed weapons list. He would only see what they had managed to acquire once he was on-site.

And the equipnt before him had already exceeded his expectations.

The other items were one thing, but the main prizes were the AWP sniper rifle and the two anti-personnel landmines.

The AWP was famous because it appeared in several first-person shooter gas, and its real-world specs were just as powerful. It was renowned for its high precision.

He recalled a piece of military news from 2009. A sniper from the United Kingdom had used an AWM sniper rifle—the .338 Lapua Magnum caliber version of the AWP before him now—to set a record for a 2,475-ter kill. That incident made the sniper rifle incredibly famous.

Fang Zhen had originally thought that with the channel Li Zoyi found, he'd be lucky to get a basic sniper rifle. He never expected they'd manage to procure a .338 caliber AWP.

This rifle alone made the trip to Arica worthwhile.

"Money," the lead xican said, looking at Fang Zhen and making a gesture of counting bills.

Fang Zhen glanced at Ke Liangjie.

Ke Liangjie spoke in a low voice with the xican guarding the guns, then turned back. "Fifty-five thousand. The extra is the channel fee."

Fang Zhen didn't say much.

It was a bit expensive, but considering the unexpectedly high-quality firearms, he accepted the price.

He walked over to his car and took out the combination briefcase he had brought with him last ti.

Opening it revealed sixty thousand US dollars in cash.

The money had been exchanged back ho by his company employees, with each person converting a certain amount. Of course, Fang Zhen wasn't one to skimp on his people, so he had paid them an extra fee for their trouble.

He counted out five thousand US dollars to keep, then took the remaining fifty-five thousand and walked over to hand it to the lead xican.

The xican took the money, pulled out a bill to examine it, and confird it was real.

"Can we take the guns now?" Ke Liangjie called from behind.

The xican let out a dry laugh, revealing a smile that was uglier than a grimace.

The xican walked over to his partners. The three of them huddled together and whispered a few words.

Fang Zhen realized sothing was wrong.

The color slowly drained from Ke Liangjie's face.

Li Zoyi, who had been observing from a distance, also started to look worried.

A mont later, the lead xican turned his head, bared his teeth at Fang Zhen, and revealed several gold-capped teeth inside.

"We're raising the price," the xican said.

As he spoke, he pulled a black submachine gun from his waistband and aid it at Fang Zhen. The other two xicans also drew their guns, targeting Ke Liangjie and Li Zoyi!
