Fang Zhen didn't spend any rit points to unlock it.
He had entered the Crystal Bone Realm mainly for a vehicle and to obtain items that would improve his endurance.
Now that he had both, there was no need to delve any deeper into the Crystal Bone Realm.
In fact, even without spending the rit points, Fang Zhen had a general idea of what the instance after the Land of Rest would entail.
Avera, Connor, and the others were already the Crystal Bone Realm's top-tier fighters. If there were subsequent instances, he guessed they would go in one of two directions.
The first would be the escalating conflict between the Thirteen Families and the barbarians. Fang Zhen would have to choose a side—either helping the barbarians or one of the families. From the look of things, siding with the barbarians seed more likely, which would make the Patriarchs of the Thirteen Families his opponents.
The other direction would involve the Netherworld, represented by the Gatekeeper.
The Crystal Bone Realm had a Netherworld, and it appeared to be connected to other worlds.
That was where Anlon Lie Feng's soul had co from.
Following that lead would likely involve the Netherworld. He probably wouldn't run into a god—that didn't quite fit the world's the—but he might encounter figures from the Netherworld even more powerful than the Gatekeeper.
If the Gatekeeper was the equivalent of an Oxhead and Horseface, then a subsequent instance might feature beings on the level of the Black and White Impermanence.
Fang Zhen wasn't particularly interested in that.
The longevity, Extraordinary power, and ability to fly he sought might not be attainable in the setting of an Elite Realm.
He'd put the Crystal Bone Realm instances on hold for now and decide what to do later.
With everything taken care of, he felt a sense of relief.
He glanced over the battle report. It ntioned sothing about cast-molded equipnt, but there was little else of note.
He briefly reviewed his gains from the Crystal Bone Realm.
His main objectives had been achieved. He had collected his rit point rewards and saved up two free attribute points, which he could allocate when needed.
He had also obtained the vehicle and the cruising item for sustained combat.
He'd even gotten an unexpected surprise: a storage belt.
As for the difference between the setting of an Elite Realm and a normal world, Fang Zhen had a vague sense of it.
The Normal difficulty in an Elite Realm wasn't drastically different from the Hard difficulty in a normal world; they were more or less on par.
If he had to point out the differences, there were probably two.
First, the setting of an Elite Realm contained legendary figures. The Gatekeeper was one such example. It also had a real place like the Netherworld, with souls visible to the naked eye, a world power called 'Sakti,' and, according to legend, a Nether God.
Although he hadn't entered the Netherworld, the Nether God, much like the Gatekeeper, was probably a real entity.
In contrast, while the Curse Seal World also had Extraordinary Elents, its monsters were all physical in nature. Whether it was the Alien Ghosts, other aberrations, the Eternal Night Council, or the vampire Ellick, they were all material entities.
'This is probably the difference between the setting of an Elite Realm and a normal world,' Fang Zhen surmised.
The gap didn't seem large in the early stages, but as things progressed, it might determine whether a higher path existed—for example, the chance to achieve godhood or ascend to a celestial Divine Kingdom. At the very least, it was a difference in whether such possibilities existed at all.
He didn't dwell on it for too long.
Speaking of the Land of Rest instance, he couldn't help but think of the king whose presence was keenly felt despite never being seen: Anlon Lie Feng.
Anlon Lie Feng's fate was rather tragic.
Although Anlon ultimately failed and died a miserable death, the king's ideals weren't wrong.
Fang Zhen wasn't one to judge a hero by their success or failure.
Anlon's path had been correct; the problem had been in its execution.
Fang Zhen planned to take it as a cautionary tale.
'Human nature is sothing to be respected, not tested.'
'If you don't want to be betrayed, you must first choose the right people to have by your side. Second, you must never give them the opportunity to have their nature tested in the first place.'
Once he had sorted out his thoughts, Fang Zhen closed the settlent screen and shut the Light Gate.
…
「Two days later.」
「3:30 PM.」
Inside the factory building Fang Zhen had rented in the industrial district of Xiahai.
Fang Zhen held a long spear, assuming a starting stance like an old fisherman casting his line. Then, his figure flickered, leaving behind an afterimage as he executed a Progressive Barrier Capture against a non-load-bearing wall.
Several afterimages trailed behind him as the spear tip reached the wall in an instant.
A ball of white light flashed at the spear's tip.
This white light was different from his usual Power Mountain Seal; it was highly concentrated at the very tip of the spear.
It even erupted with the intensity of a miniature sun.
For such a powerful thrust, the effect seed rather ordinary.
The spear only pierced the wall by less than half an inch, as lightly as a dragonfly touching the water's surface.
However.
BOOM!
The side of the wall Fang Zhen was facing remained perfectly intact.
However, if one were to look at the other side of the wall, a large, cone-shaped cavity, centered on the point of impact, had been blasted out of the extrely thick wall!
