She was one of the Night Shadow Family mbers who had ambushed him at the entrance to the Path of the Dead; perhaps she was even their leader.

As he pondered, the Obsidian Gate shimred and rippled.
Two figures gradually ca into focus.
Before one of the figures had even fully erged, a silvery laugh echoed out.
