Karen and the others readily agreed.
Fang Zhen spent just five Gold Ropes to get a total of thirteen vials of Alchemy Ointnt—the fast-healing kind. The vial Karen had given him at the Ancient Castle was included in the count, and he was charged half-price for it.
Once Karen got the money, she stopped grumbling.
Another five Gold Ropes were mainly used to trade with Jorent for a good number of Alchemy Potions.
These included knockout drugs, potent poisons, hallucinogenic potions, and sothing similar to a truth serum.
As Fang Zhen traded with Jorent, he was shocked by the sight of these potions.
'Good grief, this Jorent guy is a bit dangerous. If he were sent to the modern world with these potions, he'd get at least ten years in prison.'
Fortunately, the hallucinogen wasn't the recreational kind Fang Zhen was thinking of. Instead, it was ant to be used with the truth serum, allowing for the interrogation of prisoners without causing physical harm to obtain necessary information.
The hallucinogen could also be used in conjunction with hypnosis, suggestion, and even seduction.
After understanding how to use these potions, Fang Zhen couldn't help but shake his head.
'Too dangerous.'
'And if it's possible, please give
more of these dangerous things.'
He felt that any one of these potions would be imnsely useful in modern society; at the very least, secret agents from every country would love them.
These Alchemy Potions weren't expensive. Gwendolyn had ntioned before that the dicinal herbs for Alchemy Ointnts were relatively easy to find. The main cost was the patience required to gather them, plus a bit of manual labor.
The level of productivity in the Curse Seal World ant that labor wasn't too expensive either.
With these Alchemy Ointnts, he could convert them into a lot of money back in the real world. At the sa ti, he now had a stockpile of supplies, so he wouldn't have to worry about treating common injuries.
In addition to the Alchemy Ointnts and poisons, Fang Zhen also spent two Gold Ropes on so other supplentary ointnts.
For example, a weapon oil and a general-purpose, universal antidote.
The forr was for weapon maintenance. Applying it to a weapon would reduce oxidation and corrosion, prevent rust, and make it easier to polish.
The antidote was almost universal. Because it wasn't a specific, targeted antidote, its effect on special poisons wasn't as strong, but its advantage was that it had at least so effect on any poison.
In total, all these items only cost him twelve Gold Ropes, a true bargain.
He had also noticed that the Curse Seal World was rich in plants and dicinal ingredients. Many of them were herbs that didn't exist in his world, found only as local specialties here.
And there was a noticeable difference between the Curse Seal World and the Naless World—Silver was more common here, while Gold was relatively scarce.
He had never seen anyone here spend Gold Coins. Throughout Ellick Town, the most commonly used currencies were Copper Coins and Silver Coins; no one used Gold Coins. Furthermore, he could tell from Gwendolyn and the others' daily conversations that Gold was more valuable.
In other words, Gold had greater purchasing power in the Curse Seal World.
When Fang Zhen took out the Gold Ropes he carried, Gwendolyn was calm, but the way Karen and the others looked at him changed completely.
It was like how a leader from Xia Country in the 90s would look at soone from Saudi Arabia.
'What a whale!'
The Curse Sealers of the Whig Society didn't seem very wealthy. When Fang Zhen offered to pay for potions, they readily agreed. Jorent even kept asking if it was enough, saying that if it wasn't, he could find the materials and make more on the spot.
Jorent, the poison Alchemist, might just beco the biggest winner from the Whig Society in this transaction.
Fang Zhen didn't want to run back and forth, so he placed an order with Jorent for a batch of poisons, agreeing to trade for them at their next eting.
Of his forty-five Gold Ropes, twelve were spent on various alchemical products. The remaining thirty-three were used to purchase a complete Alchemist's legacy from the Alchemist Anlong, specifically the techniques related to Alchemy Arrays.
When Anlong learned that Fang Zhen wanted to buy sothing related to Alchemy, he ca over. After so discussion, he decided to sell his Alchemist's legacy.
This kind of transaction was normally very rare.
An Alchemist's legacy was generally not shared with outsiders, and as a mber of the Whig Society, Anlong was further bound by the society's rules restricting the leakage of technology.
However, the current situation was special. Fang Zhen had been introduced to the Whig Society by Gwendolyn and had promised to beco its ally.
The Whig Society had a separate set of benefits for high-value allies, including the option to purchase Alchemy techniques.
Although Gwendolyn didn't hold an important position in the Whig Society, her status within it was transcendent. She was a veteran mber to whom even the president had to show so deference, and she possessed great personal charisma and influence.
A promise from Gwendolyn was basically a promise from the Whig Society.
Freed from the society's rules and any other concerns, Anlong readily handed over the Alchemy legacy and the diagrams for the Alchemy Arrays to Fang Zhen.
And this was the most expensive part of the deal, selling for thirty-three Gold Ropes.
Of course, most of those thirty-three Gold Ropes had to be turned over to the Whig Society as a fee, since Anlong's legacy had co from the society in the first place. However, he was able to keep a portion for himself.
After acquiring the set of Alchemy Array diagrams and the legacy, Fang Zhen felt it was an incredible value.
The mont he saw the effects of the "Lightness" Alchemy Array, he instantly realized its even greater value.
'The "Lightness" Alchemy Array could completely replace anti-gravity devices in the real world!'
In reality, there were already many sci-fi concepts, and even so equipnt blueprints approaching reality, that involved anti-gravity technology.
In the realm of science fiction, these were core technologies. Only with them as a foundation could new applied weapons be developed.
It was just that the developnt of these technologies wasn't progressing fast enough. Forget civilian use, even military application was a distant prospect; they couldn't even be produced in a lab.
But after seeing the "Lightness" Alchemy Array, Fang Zhen had a sudden realization. He could use Alchemy Arrays to replace so of the "black technologies" that were impossible to create in the real world!
