Chapter 739: Chapter 739 Just In Charge of Playing
They didn’t get up until almost noon the next day, finding that Sanbao and Shao Yang had already prepared lunch and were just waiting for them to wake up.
In the afternoon, Shao Yang and Sanbao took them to an amusent park, intent on making sure Xiao Bao had a great ti first. Shao Yang was an SVIP mber at the park, so the staff simply fitted them with identification wristbands. With no need for tickets or queues, they had free rein of the entire place.
The mont he stepped inside, Xiao Bao was off like a shot, zipping around like a mythical beast freed from its cage. One minute he wanted to ride this, the next he was demanding to try that.
Zhang Yuxi, walking the slowest, said, "You all go on ahead. I’ll take my ti and catch up."
Of course, Lin Feng wasn’t about to leave his wife behind, so the two of them stayed back to enjoy the park at their own pace.
Shao Yang cut Sanbao off mid-sentence, pointing out that Xiao Bao had vanished. The two of them imdiately hurried off to find him. Xiao Bao wasn’t really lost; Lin Feng’s sharp eyes had already spotted where he’d run off to.
"Co on, let’s take our ti," Lin Feng said, taking Zhang Yuxi’s hand and leading her over to a park map. "What do you want to ride?"
Zhang Yuxi wasn’t in a particularly playful mood. "What about you, honey?" she asked. "What do you want to ride?"
Lin Feng smiled. "I’m good with anything. Whatever you want."
Zhang Yuxi knew her husband had excellent stamina. She, on the other hand, was already getting winded just from walking. How could I possibly keep up with him? She was well aware of her limits. "Don’t mind ," she said. "You go ride whatever you want. I’m happy just to walk around."
The park’s most thrilling attraction was a roller coaster with a ninety-degree vertical drop and a 360-degree loop.
Maybe foreigners just love this kind of challenge. All the rides here feel like 2.0 versions of the ones back ho.
As they arrived at the roller coaster, Zhang Yuxi tilted her head back to watch the cars whiz by. The distant screams of the riders made her own heart pound.
"Honey, you go ahead," she said, her face already turning a little pale. "I’m not getting on that. It’s too scary."
Since Lin Feng had the SVIP wristband, a staff mber led him directly to a special entrance, bypassing the queue.
The sunlight was a bit dazzling. As Zhang Yuxi searched for Lin Feng among the riders, a friendly tourist gave her a piece of advice, suggesting she stand farther back to avoid any potential... accidents from nauseous passengers. Startled, Zhang Yuxi quickly moved to a safer distance.
About ten minutes later, Lin Feng returned, his eyes sparkling as he announced he wanted to go again.
They say a man is a boy at heart until the day he dies, but what Zhang Yuxi had always seen most in Lin Feng was his maturity and steadiness. She would never forget the look on his face back when he delivered food and knocked on her door. Nor would she forget the unwavering resolve in his eyes when he learned he had a child and imdiately accepted his responsibility. He had raised Sanbao into a young man from the ti he was only six months old. Few other n his age could have done the sa, which was one of the main reasons she trusted him so completely.
Seeing her husband now, a childlike grin spreading across his face, Zhang Yuxi couldn’t help but smile back. Swept up in Lin Feng’s enthusiasm, she gradually let go of her inhibitions and started joining in on the fun. After the mix of terror and excitent, she found herself surprisingly wanting to go again!
"Ice cream or bubble tea?"
"Bubble tea, please."
Health-consciousness had beco second nature to her. She drank a different blend of herbal tea—flower, goji, rose—every day of the week, all in an effort to make ti slow down just a little.
Watching Lin Feng waiting in line, Zhang Yuxi found him impossibly handso, completely srizing.
She wondered if it was her age, but every ti she saw Lin Feng’s well-toned body, she felt a little unlike herself. An Lan had once told her that n of a certain age tend to "fall off a cliff," so to speak. The thought worried her imnsely, but there was nothing to be done about it except to take good care of her body. As for her best friend’s worries, Zhang Yuxi couldn’t relate and hoped she never would.
Just as she expected, a few young won approached Lin Feng to flirt with him, sothing Zhang Yuxi was already used to. But when Lin Feng pointed in her direction while talking to one of the girls, Zhang Yuxi simply offered an elegant smile.
Zhang Yuxi sipped her bubble tea, sneaking glances at her husband.
Even in her fifties, Zhang Yuxi’s casual style leaned toward the youthful, and she could still pull off wearing pink. Right now, for instance, she was wearing a floral sundress with her hair up in a bun, a small flower tucked beside it. When she smiled, she was beautiful enough to make one’s heart skip a beat.
More than a few young won ca up to talk to Lin Feng. Likewise, several young n asked Zhang Yuxi for her contact information, and they weren’t deterred even after learning she was in her fifties.
Lin Feng held her hand and carried her purse. With Zhang Yuxi following beside him, bubble tea in hand, they made for an exceptionally eye-catching couple.
"Honey, want to try that one?"
"Let
see... It doesn’t look too intense. Sure!"
They played until they were hungry. Lin Feng called Sanbao and Shao Yang, who told him they were already at a restaurant on the second floor, placing their orders.
Shao Yang was sitting by a window. When he saw his father-in-law and mother-in-law approaching hand-in-hand, he couldn’t help but feel a swell of emotion. He hoped his relationship with Sanbao would one day be just like theirs.
The restaurant inside the amusent park was outrageously expensive; a single grilled sausage cost thirty-five dollars! A plate of spaghetti was over two hundred, to say nothing of the other items. Anyone who chose to eat here clearly wasn’t short on cash. Lin Feng had long since reached the point where he no longer needed to check price tags; he could afford to buy whatever he wanted.
And while it was pricey, the food was delicious. The money felt well spent.
After finishing a plate of spaghetti and a few other snacks, Xiao Bao proposed they go play so more.
"Around four or five, I’ll take you all to a famous spot for its night views," Shao Yang explained. "The shopping street next to it is great, too. You can find a lot of interesting things there." He had arranged everything perfectly; all they had to do was have fun.
After the al, the younger group went off to play so more, leaving Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi to enjoy a leisurely afternoon together. The sunlight filtered through the glass, warm but not glaring, illuminating the bustling crowds below.
"There’s a souvenir shop across the way," Lin Feng said. "We can go check it out later, see if there’s anything we want to buy."
At five o’clock, Shao Yang finally managed to drag a reluctant Xiao Bao away, and he drove them all to get so snacks. The street was a vibrant mix: one side was lined with luxury shops, the other offered night views and street food, and connected to it was a comrcial street that sold just about everything.
"Wow, it’s so lively!" The street was indeed bustling with endless streams of people.
They started by exploring the comrcial street, which offered a bit of everything to eat and do. There was a four-story bookstore, a two-story shop that sold only earrings, and various stores for manga rchandise.
Eventually, the others drifted off, leaving just the couple walking hand in hand, browsing here and strolling there.
"Honey, how about a silk scarf? These are nice," Lin Feng suggested.
Zhang Yuxi had recently beco obsessed with silk scarves and had already bought quite a few to take ho. She didn’t discriminate between luxury brands and market stall finds; if she liked it, she bought it.
"Should we buy so for Er Bao, Cai Xia, and Qin Jiang’s mother, too?"
Pulled from her focused shopping, Zhang Yuxi looked up. "Oh, look at . I would have completely forgotten if you hadn’t reminded ."
After careful selection, Zhang Yuxi ended up buying more than ten scarves.
"Honey, there’s another scarf shop over there. Want to check it out?"
Zhang Yuxi hesitated for a mont. "Alright, let’s go have a look."
When they erged, she was carrying another dozen or so.
