Chapter 532: 532

「On the other side.」

The babies returned ho in the car.

Third Baby held the youngest while Second Baby helped her take off her little clothes.

Second Baby pursed her lips. "Third Baby, you do it. I’m afraid I’m too clumsy and won’t be gentle enough. I might wake her up."

Among the four of them, Second Baby and Third Baby were the two gentlest ones. They were always left with all the delicate tasks.

Third Baby undressed the youngest and carefully placed her in the small bed.

"I’ll take care of her. Call

if you need anything."

But who would have known? The baby woke up in less than half an hour.

Third Baby changed the baby’s diaper and then prepared so formula for her. After she gulped so down, she was ready to play again.

Fourth Baby ca over to check on the situation.

"Hey, the baby’s awake?"

Seeing Fourth Baby, the baby reached out her arms, wanting to be held.

Fourth Baby joyfully went over. "Aww, did you miss your brother Fourth Baby? Co on, I’ll take you downstairs to play."

Eldest Baby and Second Baby were in their respective rooms. After receiving a ssage in the group chat, they learned that the baby was awake.

And just like that, everyone was playing with the baby together! It was a rare chance to have her all to themselves, and none of them wanted to miss it.

Fourth Baby played "airplane" with her, holding her high and running around the room.

"We’re flying! We’re flying in an airplane!"

The baby was so delighted she couldn’t stop giggling. The others, including Second Baby, couldn’t help but laugh!

Perhaps she was a bit too excited, but the baby, who had just finished her milk, suddenly spit up.

This startled all four of them, and they quickly gathered around to check on her.

In reality, she had only spit up a mouthful of milk. Her spirits were still high, and she was happily clapping her hands.

Fourth Baby blad himself. "Did I run too fast?"

Third Baby shook her head. "But the baby just finished her milk. When you had her ’flying’ on her back, it probably pressed on her stomach. It’s like how we feel uncomfortable if we exercise right after eating. It’s completely normal."

Second Baby comforted Fourth Baby, "If you’re at fault, then we all are. Let’s just play sothing else quietly with her for now. We can play again after she’s had so ti to digest."

Eldest Baby took off the baby’s soiled clothes and changed her into a clean outfit.

The baby still wanted to play airplane, so Second Baby distracted her with a toy.

Everyone sat around the baby, chatting amongst themselves while keeping her entertained.

As she was playing, the baby suddenly seed to realize sothing was off. She began looking left and right as if searching for sothing.

Second Baby asked gently, "Little one, what are you looking for? Is it a toy?"

Observing the baby’s line of sight, Third Baby said, "I don’t think it’s a toy. She’s probably looking for Mom and Dad!"

The mont she heard "Mom and Dad," the baby’s search beca even more frantic. It seed Third Baby had guessed right—in the middle of playing, she was looking for her parents!

Third Baby tried to soothe her. "Mom and Dad had to go out for a little while. They’ll be back soon!"

From the baby’s expression, it was clear she wasn’t listening to a word they were saying. She just kept looking around anxiously.

Fourth Baby tried to distract her with a toy. "Baby, look! What’s this? It’s a tank! It’s really fun."

The baby was babbling sothing, probably calling for her mom and dad.

Suddenly, her little mouth quivered, her expression impossibly aggrieved, and fat tears began to roll down her cheeks.

The siblings imdiately scooped her up.

Second Baby tried to comfort her, "Don’t cry, don’t cry! Mom and Dad will be back soon, be a good girl!"

Eldest Baby made a funny face at her. "Baby, look at your big brother! What’s this?"

But the baby completely ignored him, pushing his face away with her little hands. Eldest Baby was out.

Fourth Baby quickly stepped in. "Co on, how about I take you to see the little lanterns? The ones outside are really pretty."

With that, he carried her to the window to see the twinkling lights, which successfully diverted her attention.

"Aren’t they pretty? Co on, there are more upstairs. Should we go have a look?"

Not even five minutes passed before the baby thought of her mom and dad again and started to fuss. She pushed hard against Fourth Baby’s chest, wanting to be put down, all while looking around frantically.

With no other choice, Fourth Baby handed her over to Third Baby.

Faced with a crying baby, the ever-gentle Third Baby could only coo softly, "How about big sister sings you a song?"

The baby was not having it. She wanted her mommy, right now! Her little legs kicked furiously as she thrashed in Third Baby’s arms, the very picture of distress.

Third Baby ran out of options and passed the baby to Eldest Baby.

Eldest Baby felt imnse pressure, but he had his own plan.

"Does the baby want to find Mommy? Co on, I’ll take you to find Mommy..."

The baby seed to understand. Her crying subsided, and she looked at Eldest Baby with tears still clinging to her cheeks.

Seeing that it was working, the others quickly chid in, "Let’s go! Let’s go see where Mommy is!"

So, they went to the kitchen, pretending to search.

They went to the living room, pretending to search!

They went to the bathroom, still pretending to search!

Of course, they found nothing, and the baby’s patience ran out. This ti, she truly burst into tears, wailing loudly.

Third Baby rushed to prepare another bottle of formula, feeding the baby as she spoke. "Maybe Mom is in the bedroom. Let’s go look..."

Naturally, their mom wasn’t in the bedroom. The baby, cradled in Third Baby’s arms, whimpered as she drank from her bottle, slowly drifting off. Third Baby held her while Second Baby stood by, holding the bottle.

Second Baby whispered, "Shh, shh, let’s see if she’s sowhere else... Maybe Mom is in the bathroom!" she improvised. "The bathroom is stinky, so let’s not go in there, okay? Let’s wait for Mom to co out. She’ll be out soon!"

The baby whimpered a few more tis, and Third Baby quickly soothed her, "Good girl, good girl!"

Just like that, the baby fell asleep in Third Baby’s arms, still sucking on her bottle.

Second Baby finally breathed a sigh of relief. "My goodness, I’m covered in sweat!"

Fourth Baby felt the sa. He looked at the sleeping baby, his own mouth in a pout. "My heart aches whenever she cries. I’d give her anything she wants, as long as it makes her happy."

The baby’s crying wasn’t a loud wail but silent tears that stread down her face, making her look incredibly wronged. It was the kind of crying that made you feel like you’d done sothing terribly wrong. How could anyone make such a cute little angel cry? She was their most cherished little sister, after all.

Third Baby carefully removed the baby’s outer layer of clothes. Supporting the bottle with one hand, she and Second Baby gently placed the baby back in her crib.

Second Baby suggested, "Why don’t we put Mom’s pajamas next to her? That might help."

Fourth Baby rolled up Zhang Yuxi’s pajamas and placed the bundle beside the sleeping baby.

Eldest Baby whispered, "Next ti, we should ask Dad and Mom to record themselves singing a lullaby for her."

Everyone agreed it was a great idea.

They looked at the ti. Good grief, with all the crying and chaos, it was almost eleven. They must be on their way back by now, the babies thought.

They exchanged glances, but no one left. They sat around the crib, switched their phones to silent, and started browsing their ssages.

Unexpectedly, less than fifteen minutes later, they heard the baby start to whimper and fuss.

Usually at this ti, once she was asleep, she wouldn’t wake up until she was hungry in the middle of the night. Her whimpering gave them all a bad feeling. They could see the helplessness in each other’s eyes.

Eldest Baby tried to reassure everyone. "Don’t panic. Maybe she won’t wake up!"

His words were jinxed. The baby woke up.

Four little heads popped up over the side of the crib at once. They saw the baby roll onto her stomach and lift her head to stare right at Eldest Baby.

Eldest Baby looked at Fourth Baby. Fourth Baby looked at Second Baby. Second Baby looked at Third Baby. Third Baby looked back at Eldest Baby.

Alright then. Third Baby picked up the baby and cooed softly.

This ti, the baby started practicing kung fu in Third Baby’s arms, crying while flailing her arms and legs. Afraid of hurting her, Third Baby had no choice but to put her down.

Just as Second Baby leaned in to pick her up, she was t with a swift kick right on the bridge of her nose.

Fourth Baby offered the baby a toy.

She threw it.

"She threw it pretty far," Fourth Baby comnted. "Looks like she’s really mad."

Eldest Baby offered her the bottle, but she turned her head away. It was too heavy for her to throw.

Clever Second Baby had an idea and told Third Baby to put on Zhang Yuxi’s pajamas. "Maybe the baby will think Mom is holding her and stop crying!"

"Fourth Baby, you put on Dad’s pajamas! They have his scent on them."

It actually worked pretty well at first. When Third Baby held the baby while wearing their mom’s pajamas, she did indeed cry less.

But the baby wasn’t blind. The mont she looked up and saw it was Third Baby, she started crying all over again.

It was enough to make them want to cry, too.

Fourth Baby quickly said, "Turn off the lights! Turn off the lights! Just leave a small nightlight on so she can’t see."

With the main lights off, Fourth Baby imitated Lin Feng’s voice. "Give her to ."

Believe it or not, his impersonation was remarkably similar.

The baby, completely fooled, whimpered and sobbed in Fourth Baby’s arms. From the sound of it, she was close to falling asleep.

Ten minutes later, the baby was really asleep.

Fourth Baby continued to walk around the room, patting her back gently.

The other three were finally, blessedly, relieved.
