Chapter 501: Chapter 501: The Long-Awaited Reward!
Erbao stood on the podium, her smile confident and powerful. She seed to possess an inherent charm that drew people in, making them want to be her friend. The teacher smiled slightly, praised Erbao’s foreign language skills, and then asked her to take her seat.
Erbao had bought their textbooks when she arrived, and after looking them over, she felt the material wasn’t too difficult. After class, so classmates approached her to make friends and invited her to watch a basketball ga. Being rather tomboyish, Erbao didn’t actually enjoy hanging out with clingy girls and preferred the company of boys.
Upon arriving at the spacious gym, she saw so boys playing basketball. The girls around her were shouting a na—Jim—and Erbao followed their gazes. She saw the most striking-looking guy among them looking in their direction. When his eyes t Erbao’s, he was taken aback.
Erbao nodded politely. "You guys watch. I’m going to take a walk around campus."
I genuinely don’t see what’s so handso about this guy. My taste is probably just different from theirs. Only guys like Dad and my brothers are truly handso, okay!
After leaving, Erbao called Dabao. "Dabao, what are you doing? Want to go for a walk?"
"I’m surrounded by a group of girls," Dabao replied. "Can you co help
out?"
"What?"
Sure enough, Dabao was surrounded by a few girls who were trying to force him into a conversation. Dabao was mature, gentle, and handso, which made him very popular with the girls. Since they were in a key high school where students focused on studying above all, dating was out of the question. At most, they could have secret crushes.
Erbao saw that Dabao was clearly losing his patience, yet he had to maintain his composure. She couldn’t help but sigh.
"Let’s go, bro!"
Dabao looked as if he’d seen his savior. "I have sothing to do, so I have to go."
"So, how did it feel?" she teased as they walked away.
"It’s annoying. I just want to study in peace," Dabao said, shaking his head helplessly.
Erbao laughed loudly. "Why don’t you transfer to our class? Then we can look out for each other."
They chatted as they walked around the school playground. The elite school had everything one could ask for, and Erbao signed up for anything that seed fun and challenging: Taekwondo, fencing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and more. Dabao, on the other hand, mostly enrolled in practical courses to conduct various research projects.
When classes ended for lunch, the siblings found the cafeteria food left them at a loss for words. They didn’t like it at all. They had reluctantly eaten it today but decided they would bring their own lunches from tomorrow on.
anwhile, Li Long and Lili had returned ho and were already starting their howork. They were quite popular in their class, with warm and friendly teachers and classmates. The only problem was that they couldn’t understand the lessons, which they found quite profound. When in doubt, ask. So, the two of them went to the teacher’s office for help. In the end, they only understood about a third of a single problem.
That evening, Li Long and Lili stared at their howork, utterly stumped. In the kitchen, Lin Feng was cooking. Zhang Yuxi was feeding the baby, while Sanbao and Sibao went to their rooms to do their howork. Li Long and Lili also returned to their respective rooms. After half an hour, their spirits were crushed.
The two started ssaging each other.
"Hey Lili, have you finished your howork?"
"No..."
"This is too hard. I’ve only finished the English howork! What about you?"
"Umm, maybe I’m approaching this the wrong way. I’ll start with English too."
Another half hour passed.
"Hey Lili, I finished my English. Have you started the other assignnts?"
"Don’t bother , I’m thinking. If you’re done, let
see..."
Li Long looked at his math howork, wishing he could just explode on the spot. As he went through each question, he realized there were very few he could solve. Anxious, he took photos of his howork and posted them online with the caption, "Oh my god, this howork is too hard! It’s really, really hard..."
He just wanted to vent, so he put his phone aside and tried to continue working. A minute passed. He decided to check his phone to ease his anxiety. To his surprise, in just one minute, there were hundreds of comnts.
He was shocked. What the hell? What’s going on?
"Dude, this is way too hard. I can’t help you. You’ll have to find another way."
"What does this even an?"
"I don’t get it! Why this step, and then that one? It makes no sense..."
"What is this? I can’t even understand what I’m looking at, okay?"
"Can’t solve it. Next! Can anyone explain this? I really want to know the answer!"
"Hahaha, I know it! Answer.jpg"
"Seeing this howork, why does it look so familiar? Are you Li Long?"
"If you don’t know how, ask your classmates or your teacher. What’s the point of asking us? We don’t know either!"
"I’ve already given up. This is too hard. Might as well not do it, it’s a waste of ti!"
Soon after, his class teacher called him.
"Are you having trouble with the howork?" she asked, getting straight to the point.
"Huh? Teacher, how did you know?" Li Long asked, puzzled.
"I follow your social dia account."
"???!!!!"
"Which problems are you stuck on?"
"...Uh, all of them..."
The teacher probably realized how sudden this was. "Why don’t you ask your classmates first? If you still can’t figure it out, co see
tomorrow."
"Okay!"
Just then, Li Long noticed a new comnt. Soone had written out the steps to solve the problems in great detail and had even tagged him. Li Long only half-understood it, but he was incredibly impressed. This person wrote so much; it must be the right answer, he thought, and began copying down the solution.
At that mont, Lin Feng called them for dinner. Lili was still frowning with worry, but Li Long felt a bit better, since he now had help from his online friend. The two of them stepped out of their rooms and found Sanbao and Sibao already sitting at the table, waiting.
"Have you guys finished your howork?" Lili asked them.
"I have a little left," Sibao said while eating a piece of fruit. "They’re done."
"What’s wrong?" Lin Feng asked as he sat down. "Can’t figure it out? You can always ask us for help."
Lili pursed her lips. "Do you know how to do all of it?"
Sibao didn’t answer. His grades were above average, but he didn’t know how to solve every problem. However, the family’s other two academic aces knew everything.
Tears welled up in Lili’s eyes. "This howork is just too hard! I’ve been working for half an hour and only solved a few problems..." The thought of all the unfinished howork was driving her crazy.
" too," Li Long said quietly.
And so, Sanbao ended up tutoring them. He was the most patient tutor, but even so, Li Long and Lili couldn’t keep up. Perhaps because of their different educational backgrounds, so concepts had to be taught from the very beginning.
Lin Feng, anwhile, was helping Sibao with his howork. So far, Sibao’s grades weren’t a problem. After having previously identified and filled in the gaps in his knowledge, Lin Feng felt he no longer needed to hover over him.
"Starting tomorrow, you’ll do your howork by yourself. Dad won’t be here with you."
"Okay! If there’s anything I don’t understand, I’ll let you know, Dad."
"Good. I’ll go cut up so fruit."
Every evening, Lin Feng never failed to deliver milk and fruit to the kids, no matter the weather. It was always fresh milk that had to be boiled before it could be drunk. After busying himself in the kitchen for a while, he served each child and finally went to the bedroom.
Zhang Yuxi was working on lesson plans, as she would be starting work next week. This arrangent was the result of a discussion between the couple, as well as a request from the principal. He had promised Zhang Yuxi that she could take over as principal in a year or two. The old principal was getting on in years and it was ti for him to retire. He believed he had already found the best candidate to succeed him. With her teaching ability and qualifications, Zhang Yuxi was more than capable of taking on the role. All the teachers at school were aware of this, but no one had brought it up openly as the timing wasn’t yet right.
As for Zhang Yuxi herself, she wasn’t particularly concerned about the position. She had been teaching for over a decade; the thought of stopping completely to just enjoy life at ho was sothing she couldn’t accept. She loved her profession and hoped to continue with it.
"Whatever you do, I will support you," Lin Feng said with a smile. "Don’t worry about the house and the kids, you can leave it all to ."
"Thank you, honey," Zhang Yuxi snuggled into his arms. "You’ve given so much for this family."
"It’s nothing," Lin Feng smiled. He found Zhang Yuxi wearing her glasses, completely engrossed in writing her lesson plans.
"Honey, drink your milk and have so fruit."
"Thank you, dear!"
"Have you fed Xiaobao?" Lin Feng asked.
"I have. He just fell asleep."
Lin Feng peeked over and saw Xiaobao sleeping soundly.
「Late at night.」
The system issued a reward.
[DING!]
[As the host has ’tutored his child with howork for the first ti’, fulfilling the responsibilities of a father!]
[Reward: 5% share in Xiaoben!]
Hmm, the long-silent system has finally spoken. The system’s rewards are probably just for Dabao and his siblings. To date, it hasn’t given any rewards for Xiaobao. Xiaobao ans I’m not a first-ti father, so there are probably no corresponding rewards for him.
