At this ti, Zhang Yuxi finished washing up and ca downstairs.
"Good morning, honey!"
Lin Feng kissed her. "Ti for breakfast."
The couple quietly finished their al and let the babies rest for half an hour before letting them play in the yard.
"Yuxi, let's go take a stroll around Yuhuali this afternoon and check on the progress of the renovations," Lin Feng suggested.
Lin Dashan had left the SUV for Lin Feng, which made getting around convenient.
By the afternoon, Lin Feng had woken the babies from their nap when the intercom chid. He answered and saw Lin Jiajun's figure on the small screen.
"Is that you, sister-in-law? Can you open the door for ?"
"Okay."
So, it was Lin Jiajun. Lin Feng had a good idea of what he wanted.
DING-DONG, DING-DONG.
The doorbell rang.
Zhang Yuxi opened the door. "Please co in!"
As soon as Lin Jiajun stepped inside, he exclaid, "WOW!"
"As expected of what will be a landmark villa in i City! This design is absolutely stunning!"
She led him into the living room.
"Don't worry about getting
water, you're too kind," he said. "Where's Lin Feng?"
Zhang Yuxi poured him a cup of herbal tea. "He's upstairs waking the babies."
Lin Jiajun humd in acknowledgnt and stood up to look around.
"Not bad at all. When I'm old, a house like this would make for a comfortable retirent."
"This place must have cost a fortune; every inch of land here is precious. How much was it?"
Zhang Yuxi shook her head. "I don't know. Lin Feng bought it."
"I'll go check on the children; he'll be down in a mont."
"You go ahead, don't mind ," Lin Jiajun said quickly. "I just ca by to see you all. It's nothing urgent."
He had recently made so money, and with his second child on the way, he was thinking of buying a villa. When you earn more, you naturally want to give your family a better life. He'd always said that once he made enough, he'd buy one. After seeing Lin Feng's villa in Yangcheng, he beca even more set on the idea. Now, looking at this one... he wished he could afford a villa like this. But... it was just wishful thinking. A joke, really. He knew that the hos in Mingyue Villa were priceless, worth a fortune, even without asking. He only had savings of a million or two. To think of buying a villa here... he had to be dreaming. As envious as he was, Lin Jiajun told himself to work hard and earn more. He hoped that one day, he could provide a villa like this for his own family.
As he was deep in thought, Lin Feng ca down with the babies.
"Hey, everyone! Rember ?" Lin Jiajun greeted the babies, pulling small toys from his pocket. "These are for you. Do you like them?"
The babies pitter-pattered over, their eyes fixed curiously on the little toys in his hands. It turned out they were anthropomorphic dolls of the twelve zodiac animals. He gave them all to the babies.
"I want this one! This one is a girl..."
"This one... this one has a dragon... tail..."
"This one's so pretty! Is it a princess?"
One-year-olds are easy to please. A small trinket was enough to make them ecstatic. They ran to show their new toys to Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi.
Second Treasure held a small rabbit. "Daddy, is mine pretty?"
Lin Feng smiled. "It's beautiful!"
Fourth Treasure was holding a little tiger. "Daddy, tiger... RAWR..."
Lin Feng feigned a dramatic gasp. "Wow, such a fierce little tiger! Daddy is so scared."
This sent Fourth Treasure into a fit of giggles.
Big Treasure held a small dragon. "Mommy, is this a dragon?"
"You're so smart, Big Treasure! That is indeed a dragon," Zhang Yuxi praised him.
Big Treasure looked puzzled.
Zhang Yuxi held the small toy. "Look, these are dragon horns, and this is the dragon's tail..."
Big Treasure blinked. "But... I think it looks like a fishy..."
"Dragons and fish do look a bit alike, and dragons can also live in the sea."
"Is it powerful?"
"It's aweso. Really aweso."
"Is it an animal?"
"I suppose so."
"Then can Mommy take Big Treasure to see one, okay?"
"Actually, dragons don't exist..." Zhang Yuxi trailed off, realizing a one-year-old wouldn't understand and that the explanation would be too complicated. Seeing Big Treasure's face filled with a thirst for knowledge, she was at a loss for words.
Just then, Second Treasure ca over with two more toys. "Mommy, is this a cow? And what's this one?"
"Let Mommy see... This one is a mouse, right?"
"What's a little mouse?"
"Uh, it's an animal that sneaks into people's houses to steal food..."
Second Treasure's expression changed, and he imdiately threw the mouse toy away.
Zhang Yuxi picked it up. "It's just a toy; it won't steal anything."
Faced with the babies' endless questions, even she, a university lecturer, felt overwheld. It seed like one question could spawn a hundred more. She glanced at Lin Feng, who was always so much better at handling these things than she was.
Third Treasure took the snake and horse toys to Lin Feng. "Daddy, what are these?"
"This is a snake. Rember when we went to the zoo and saw those long, slithery things? Those were snakes."
Third Treasure looked a bit confused.
"When we have ti, Daddy will take you back to the zoo, and then we'll see what snakes really look like."

Big Treasure, having failed to get a satisfactory answer about dragons from his mother, trotted over to his father. "Daddy, what's this?"

"Then can Daddy take
to see a dragon? I want to see one."

The babies crowded around them asking questions for a long ti, and Lin Feng answered every one with patience. From the side, Lin Jiajun couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration.

Lin Feng asked with interest, "What kind of things does Xiaowen ask?"
"When we're walking in our neighborhood, he'll point at a tree in the garden and ask ." Lin Jiajun imitated his son's voice, "'Daddy, what's the na of this tree?'"

Lin Jiajun couldn't help but laugh as he told the story. That's the charming part about children; it's irresistible.
The comnt sparked a chain reaction. Second Treasure, who was sitting next to Lin Feng, asked, "Daddy, why don't little trees have nas?"
Lin Feng thought for a mont. "Oh, they do have nas. You just don't know them because you can't understand their language!"
Second Treasure said, "Oh," and accepted the explanation.
Big Treasure tilted his head up. "Then Daddy, why... why can I hear you speak?"
"Because we're all humans! Little trees are plants. Only things of the sa kind can understand each other."
"Like Da Bai and Fei Fei?" Third Treasure piped in.
Lin Feng shot him an approving glance. "Exactly! Third Treasure is so smart."
No wonder raising children seems so effortless for him, Lin Jiajun thought. He's just too good at handling them.
He smiled and asked, "Shall we head to Yuhuali and take a look?"
Lin Feng caught Fourth Treasure secretly putting a toy in his mouth and gently tapped his hand. "I was planning to head over in a bit anyway."
Lin Jiajun stood up. "Then let's go now."
"Wait a second," Zhang Yuxi said. "I have their food warming in the clay pot; let
pack it up."
After packing the food and so fruit for the babies, they all set off with Lin Jiajun.
