Back ho, Lin Feng settled the babies and went to the kitchen to help.
Zhou Cuilan said with a smile, "I took so food to Little Jie today, and his classmates all loved what you cooked. He also wanted
to ask if you could invite them over for dinner tonight?"
Lin Feng had a good impression of Lin Jie's classmates. "No problem."
"Then I'll give him a call."
"Yeah, and ask them what they'd like to eat while you're at it."
"Okay."
Five minutes later, Lin Feng was busy in the kitchen. Zhou Cuilan had been helping out, but Lin Feng sent her to watch the children instead.
Once the babies were in their walkers, they were like tigers with newly sprouted wings, able to go wherever they pleased. They all loved to play, so it was a scene of chaotic joy. Only the third baby was calm, clinging to the toy in their hands.
Seeing this, Zhang Yuxi took the third baby out of the walker to play with the fourth baby in the play area.
Zhou Cuilan ca over and gasped. "My goodness, they're not learning to walk; they're learning to drive!"
That was for sure. They were zipping around and didn't even seem to get tired.
Seeing it was about ti, Zhou Cuilan helped the babies use the potty. Nowadays, the babies pooped three tis a day: once after waking up, once in the afternoon, and once at night, usually on a regular schedule. As for peeing, they had to be taken to the potty every two hours or so to see if they needed to go. When the little ones got too carried away with their fun, they would forget and end up wetting their pants.
Thankfully, the weather was warm, so even if they had an accident, a quick wash of their bottoms was all that was needed. Winter would be much more trouble.
Zhang Yuxi called Han Wen. Dinner preparations had already started, and she wanted to ask when she would be back.
"I'm so sorry, Teacher Zhang," Han Wen said. "I was just about to tell you, I have to go back to Yangcheng..."
Zhang Yuxi asked with concern, "What's wrong? Did sothing happen?"
"Ugh, it's my mom! She thought I was at the university and ca looking for . When she couldn't find , she called 110."
Zhang Yuxi was surprised. "What? You ca to icheng with
and didn't tell your parents?"
"Nope! My phone has dual SIMs, you know. I switched cards, so she doesn't have this number."
Zhang Yuxi hadn't realized Han Wen was so rebellious. "Alright, you should head back then. Be safe on the road, and call
when you arrive."
Han Wen replied cheerfully, "Okay! Sorry for the trouble these past two days. Please tell Auntie I said goodbye."
Zhang Yuxi nodded. "I will."
Zhou Cuilan was right beside her. "Is Wen Wen not coming back?"
"Sothing ca up at ho, so she went back to Yangcheng."
Zhou Cuilan didn't press further and started talking about the early education class from that day. Zhang Yuxi gave her a brief summary and also ntioned the fees. A single class cost two hundred yuan, which was indeed a bit pricey. It would be manageable for one baby, but with four, it was a different story.
However, for the sake of the babies, Zhou Cuilan still approved of the classes. "I'm not old-fashioned. It seems all babies go to early education these days. There's nothing wrong with letting them go and experience it. If other children have it and we have the ans, our babies should have it too. As parents, the hardest thing to see is the look of disappointnt on our children's faces."
Parents often give their all, wanting only the best for their children. They would rather suffer themselves than let their children go without.
At seven in the evening, Lin Dashan returned. "Hey, dinner's not ready yet?"
Zhou Cuilan glared at him. "Eat, eat, eat! Is that all you know how to do? Tell , what good are you besides eating? Absolutely nothing!"
Lin Dashan was utterly confused. "What did I do now? I say one thing, and you go off on
like a firecracker."
Zhou Cuilan huffed. "Did you go out drinking today?" The source of th??s content is novel_f??re
"No! I'm being frad!" Lin Dashan protested. "I went to discuss business today, and they even invited
to stay for dinner, but I refused."
Zhou Cuilan's expression softened slightly.
"Wow, what a sumptuous dinner tonight!" Lin Dashan exclaid. "Did you make all this for
because you knew my business deal was a success?" As he spoke, he went to pour himself so wine. "How could we not pair such delicious food from our son with so fine wine!"
Zhou Cuilan started in on him again. "Drink, drink, drink, all you think about is drinking. You're good for nothing. Besides, you wish! This was all made for Little Jie's classmates."
Lin Dashan was speechless. He was certain Zhou Cuilan's nopause was acting up again!
Once dinner was cooked, Lin Jie and his classmates arrived from school around half-past seven. Lin Feng had just finished feeding the babies their solid food and was putting them to bed. It was absolutely crucial not to let the fourth baby see all this at. Wouldn't that little foodie go completely nuts?
Lin Feng's biological clock had indirectly influenced the babies'. They woke up around seven in the morning. They napped at two in the afternoon and woke up around three, or three-thirty if they were particularly tired. They went to bed at eight in the evening, waking up only once during the night for a bottle of formula. The only exceptions were that the first baby tended to wake up too early and the fourth baby tended to sleep in.
"Yuxi, you go on downstairs and eat. I'll watch First Baby," Lin Feng said.
Zhang Yuxi sat by the bed. "No, I'll stay with you." She cherished the ti she spent with Lin Feng and the babies. Even if they did nothing, just quietly watching them was enough to make her happy.
Today, First Baby had so much fun in the walker that they set a new record for falling asleep the fastest. After settling the babies, Lin Feng placed quilts and pillows around the crib.
"Fatty, it's all up to you now."
Fatty had been running a bit wild lately, but Lin Feng wasn't worried about him carousing outside, since he was neutered. No matter how long Fatty played outdoors, he always ca ho when it was ti for the babies to sleep.
Fatty lay down on a pillow and owed twice, as if in response to Lin Feng.
The couple went downstairs, where they could hear Lin Jie and his classmates chatting.
"Bro! Sis-in-law!" Lin Jie called out.
Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi greeted them with smiles. This was the second ti the students had t Lin Feng, though it wasn't their first visit to Lin Jie's ho. The four of them often studied together and were all very diligent.
After dinner, they went to the living room to do their howork. Zhang Yuxi leaned in and asked, "Can I take a look at your textbooks?"
"Of course, feel free."
"Sis-in-law, my handwriting is ugly, you probably shouldn't look."
"Mine... mine isn't great either."
Are you kidding? She's a university lecturer! As students, they couldn't help but feel a certain reverence for a teacher.
Zhang Yuxi smiled. "Don't worry, I don't mind."
While Zhou Cuilan washed the dishes, Lin Feng cut up fruit. He prepared a plate for Lin Dashan, one for Little Jie and his friends, and a separate one just for Zhang Yuxi.
"What are you looking at?" Lin Feng asked as he ca over.
Zhang Yuxi smiled. "Just seeing if the textbooks have changed. They're still the sa."
Lin Jie hesitated for a mont before asking, "Sis-in-law, what's the correct answer for this question? Is it D?"
"Huh? Let
see." Zhang Yuxi took the book and studied the problem carefully. "Yes, it's D."
Back in school, Zhang Yuxi had studied humanities, while Lin Jie and his friends were in the sciences. After so many years, she needed a mont to work through so of the science problems herself.
It was already eleven. "You should go to bed," Lin Feng said to her. "I'll stay with them."
By 'stay with them,' he probably just ans he'll make them a late-night snack later, Zhang Yuxi thought.
"Alright, but don't stay up too late," she said.
