"Mr. Long Tian, you are free to go. Also, your wife is waiting for you outside," Leng Wushen said with a chuckle.

"My wife..." Long Tian froze for a mont.

For a second, he thought he had heard wrong.

Yes, her na is ng Lingxue, right?" Leng Wushen asked, looking confused by Long Tian’s reaction.

Long Tian nodded.

He didn’t believe ng Lingxue had co because she cared about him at all.

He thought she had only co to protect her image or avoid being affected by the incident.

"Okay, I guess I’m no longer a suspect," he said with a chuckle and stood up.

Leng Wushen then led Long Tian outside. This ti, they left together since Long Tian was no longer a pri suspect.

The mont Long Tian stepped outside, his steps stopped.

A black BMW was parked at the entrance.

ng Lingxue stood beside it, wearing sunglasses, her arms folded, her finger tapping slowly against her sleeve.

She looked calm... but that small movent betrayed her impatience.

As he and Leng Wushen stepped out, she noticed them and let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Sorry, Miss Lingxue, we had the wrong information. He wasn’t involved in what happened this morning," Leng Wushen explained.

Whatever happened isn’t ant to be public, so it’s best to keep it confidential.

After saying this, he walked away, leaving the husband and wife to sort things out themselves.

Long Tian looked at his new wife. Was he wrong about her?

ng Lingxue looked at him and said coldly, "Enter."

Long Tian entered the car without saying anything.

ng Lingxue started the engine imdiately.

The entire ride was silent.

Only the sound of the engine filled the car.

"I thought you said we weren’t supposed to involve ourselves in each other’s affairs," Long Tian said with a chuckle.

ng Lingxue hit the brake, parking on the side of the road.

"We’re having a family eting this weekend," she said coldly.

"And you’re coming... as my husband."

Even though she didn’t finish her sentence, Long Tian understood why she had risked coming to see him, even if their relationship might be exposed.

Long Tian looked at her quietly.

So that’s the reason she ca...

It had nothing to do with him at all.

Long Tian leaned back in his seat.

He didn’t know whether to laugh... or feel annoyed.

This woman... his wife... really didn’t make sense.

"Ok, just notify when it’s ti. I am not as busy as you," Long Tian said with a soft chuckle.

His words sounded sarcastic, but ng Lingxue didn’t take it to heart.

When they reached a certain point, Long Tian told her to stop and said, "I have sothing to do; I will co ho later."

He got out of the car, and ng Lingxue watched him leave; no one knew what was going through her mind.

Long Tian started walking; he still needed to buy herbs today and in larger quantities than yesterday.

His encounter with Huang Yin made him realize he needed to increase his strength.

Also, he felt he lacked information about China.

The people he had t weren’t cultivators, but they had high strength.

He arrived at the herb store. By then, night had fallen.

He t the sa young lady, but this ti there was an old man sitting beside her.

When the young lady saw him, she stepped forward happily.

Long Tian’s gaze was on the old man; his eyes widened with terror.

He couldn’t figure out who the old man was; he felt like an unfathomable abyss.

Long Tian’s body trembled subconsciously. Then his lips slowly curled into a smile as he licked his lips.

When was the last ti he truly felt sothing?

The feeling of eting a stronger opponent.

Back on Devil’s Island, he thought he was the strongest, while his master looked like an ordinary mortal.

Now, thinking about it, he realized his vision was narrow. He was too weak to truly understand his master’s real identity.

It seems he made the right choice by coming to China.

"Mr. Long Tian, the herbs are already prepared." The young lady’s voice woke him from his thoughts.

"Thanks, Miss Feng." He clasped his hands together and thanked her.

Yesterday, they exchanged each other’s nas while he bought herbs.

"The old man’s gaze lingered, his eyes narrowing as if asuring him.

Not long after, he looked at the bountiful herbs that were placed before him. They were placed in a preservable material, which could make them last for a day.

Unlike yesterday, it wasn’t what he could carry, and he couldn’t suddenly place it in the Nine Dragon Space.

He hailed a taxi, even though the price would be higher than what he was normally charged.

The old man didn’t say anything; all they did was exchange greetings.

He entered the taxi, and Feng iyue waved goodbye as the taxi drove away.

Inside the taxi, Long Tian’s mind went to the two encounters he had today.

And they really hit his confidence.

Just walking in the streets, he had seen two people who could threaten him. Both could kill him if he wasn’t careful.

This made him hungry for strength.

He knows how the weak are being treated, and he doesn’t want to be one of them.

He told the taxi to park at a junction; he preferred to walk the rest alone.

He looked at the herbs before him, and in a corner, he placed so in the Nine Dragon Space, leaving the rest that he could carry.

As he walked down the streets, the number of people walking in the streets reduced as midnight was getting close within two hours.

"You’ve been following for a long ti. Don’t you plan to co out?" he said in a cold voice.

Soone stepped out of the shadows laughing.

"It seems the Fox King is still as sharp as ever."
