"Third Grandpa, is there really no other way?" Tang Chuxia asked desperately.

A tension lingered by the bedside.

Tang Chuxia knew the truth but still couldn’t accept it.

Third Grandpa lowered his voice and said, "There’s really nothing we can do about it!"

Tang Chuxia still refused to accept.

"How could sothing happen to Second Grandma when she was in such good health?"

She couldn’t believe it!

No matter what, she refused to believe.

Unless there was so underlying issue.

Left with no other choice, Third Grandpa took Tang Chuxia aside and said, "Your Second Grandma’s situation is special, she is..."

Before Third Grandpa could finish, soone in the room started crying.

Tang Chuxia imdiately rushed in.

She checked Second Grandma first thing.

Her body was still warm but she wasn’t breathing.

Tang Chuxia shouted urgently, "Everyone out!"

The people inside the room didn’t understand what was happening but could only stand still.

Tang Chuxia had to yell, "I am a doctor, Second Grandma can still be saved, and you’re all just delaying the rescue by standing here!"

With these words, everyone rushed out of the room.

Taking the opportunity, Tang Chuxia opened a small bottle in her pocket and, shielding it with her palm, poured it directly into Second Grandma’s mouth.

This substance couldn’t really be called an elixir, but for soone like Second Grandma who had just stopped breathing, it was effective.

After all, Tang Chuxia believed that Second Grandma didn’t die of old age but by so misfortune.

Sure enough, after Tang Chuxia administered the spiritual spring water, Second Grandma’s body began to tremble.

Then she sat up abruptly from the bed.

She started vomiting violently.

It was only Tang Chuxia’s quick reflexes that saved her from being covered in vomit.

Third Grandpa, who had followed her into the room, watched as Second Grandma spat out black blood mixed with chunks of flesh, his anger surging uncontrollably.

Seeing this scene, Tang Chuxia also realized what had happened.

Soone had poisoned Second Grandma,

and with a particularly potent poison.

"Third Grandpa, did you know it was poison?" Tang Chuxia asked, suspecting that Third Grandpa knew about the lethal nature of the poison and therefore hadn’t alerted her!

To her surprise, Third Grandpa shook his head. "I always thought it was worms, but it turned out to be poison!"

Tang Chuxia was speechless.

He hadn’t even confird what it was, yet he stopped her from attempting to save her.

"Exactly what happened?" Tang Chuxia pressed anxiously about the events, but then Second Grandma grabbed her wrist.

"You child, why are you so rash?" While her mouth still dripped blood, she began to scold Tang Chuxia.

Tang Chuxia hugged Second Grandma tightly, "Second Grandma, I’m so glad you’re alive!"

Originally, Second Grandma wanted to continue scolding, but hearing Tang Chuxia’s words, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

She simply stroked Tang Chuxia’s hair. "You, child, Second Grandma is old, isn’t it natural to pass away?"

Tang Chuxia shook her head.

She loved Second Grandma’s forthright and decisive nature, the way she handled things with such efficiency.

But she didn’t like seeing Second Grandma lying in bed awaiting death.

Seeing Second Grandma scolding people with such vigor actually made Tang Chuxia feel much better.

Third Grandpa, standing nearby, reminded Second Grandma, "Second Sister-in-law, everyone is just outside!"

Second Grandma then rembered that she had nearly died and, looking down at the shroud she was wearing, she said with so emotion, "I’ve just walked back from the gates of hell!"

She supported herself on the bed rail and got off the bed.

Looking at the bed that had been turned around, she said to the people outside, "Get two people to move the bed back for !"

Those outside heard Second Grandma’s voice and were all suspicious and uncertain.

But when they saw her appearance, they knew Second Grandma was not faking it.

For a mont, there were all sorts of speculations, but Second Grandma said, "I just couldn’t catch my breath, but then Xiaxia slapped my back, and my breath smoothed out, and I ca back to life!"

Including the blood on the ground.

Quite a few of the elderly had heard of this kind of situation.

So there was nothing to doubt.

Normally, soone who was supposed to die coming back to life would certainly raise suspicions, but Second Grandma didn’t care.

She sent everyone away, only keeping Third Grandpa and Tang Chuxia as a couple.

Second Grandma changed out of her shroud, folded it neatly, and put it in the wardrobe before sitting down and starting to chat with Tang Chuxia about why she had encountered problems.

The bloodstains on the floor had already been covered with wood ash, so no traces could be seen.

Second Grandma sighed, "Thirdly, you know who was behind it, right?"

Third Grandpa nodded, "I didn’t know before, but now I do!"

Second Grandma let out another sigh and whispered to Tang Chuxia, "What a sin!"

Tang Chuxia didn’t understand what Second Grandma ant.

She knew that Second Grandma must have sothing important to say.

"It was your little uncle!"

This term ’little uncle’ was sowhat unusual; in Tang Village, a little uncle was of the grandfather’s generation, but from a collateral line.

To differentiate, that was why the term was used.

This little uncle was the one who had previously caught Tang Chuxia and bled her.

Tang Chuxia thought for a mont, dragged this person from her mory, and asked with a puzzled face, "Why would the little uncle want to harm Second Grandma?"

This question was very troubling.

Second Grandma looked at Third Grandpa.

Third Grandpa straightforwardly said, "Your little uncle has always wanted to know what the Tang Family is guarding. To find out, he has been trying for years to get information from the Tang Family!"

In that case, Tang Chuxia rembered the experience of digging graves with Tang Heilong not long ago.

Obviously, Third Grandpa had also thought of this and added, "The poisoning of those family mbers in the past was also your little uncle’s doing!"

Now it all made sense.

"Unable to save her even with insects, Second Grandma simply decided to use her life to uncover the truth!"

After Third Grandpa finished speaking, Tang Chuxia was furious.

She hugged Second Grandma’s arm and complained bitterly, embarrassing Second Grandma.

Fortunately, Third Grandpa reminded her, "Your Second Grandma had no choice. If she let your little uncle continue, more people would definitely have died!"

Tang Chuxia kept quiet.

She knew Third Grandpa was right.

But she was not willing to accept it.

How could people be so infuriating?

"Is it worth trading a life for a life?"

Tang Chuxia could not understand Second Grandma’s actions.

Then, Gu Beihuai asked, "Second Grandma, do you have a backup plan?"

He couldn’t believe that in such a situation, Third Grandpa would just let Second Grandma die.

Sure enough, Second Grandma smiled and said, "I didn’t want to die so early. It was just your Third Grandpa making it look like I was dead with the insects, and who expected, I was accidentally revived by Xiaxia, the poor girl!"

Tang Chuxia: ...

In that situation, how could she dare to think too much?

"I also didn’t expect that not only the insects died, but even the residual poison in your Second Grandma’s body was cured!"

This was what puzzled Third Grandpa.

The black blood that was spat out was the best proof.

Tang Chuxia rubbed her nose, not knowing how to explain.
