"What secret?"

Yang Yingjie was extrely curious; he knew Tang Chuxia was never one to speak without cause, and he understood even more clearly that a secret which Tang Chuxia was willing to divulge was hardly a secret at all.

Therefore, at this mont, he perked up his ears and listened very attentively.

On account of the money, Tang Chuxia was straightforward and said directly, "I know who your uncle is infatuated with!"

Yang Yingjie was stunned.

How did Tang Chuxia know sothing that even the Yang Family was unaware of? And more importantly, who was Yang Chao infatuated with?

Was it really necessary to know?

"That person is soone you know, and it’s the last person you’d expect!"

Tang Chuxia declared confidently. Yang Yingjie furrowed his brows in thought, "I can’t think of who it might be; there’s too little targeted information, after all."

"It’s the aunt who’s being fostered at your place!"

Yang Yingjie was shocked, then beca enlightened, followed by doubt, and eventually, he even accepted it.

"Still, I need to go ho and investigate. Although I sensed sothing was off between them, it doesn’t necessarily an they’re the ones, does it?"

Yang Yingjie concluded, and Tang Chuxia reminded him, "Just go back and see for yourself!"

Yang Yingjie humd in acknowledgnt and then asked, "How did you co to know about this?"

Upon this question, Tang Chuxia could only offer a mysterious smile, "What do you think?"

Yang Yingjie had a flash of realization, "Your dad told you?"

Tang Chuxia snapped her fingers, "My sworn brother is impressive, indeed!"

Perhaps it was excessive curiosity, or maybe because Yang Yingjie knew his aunt had been ill for years, needing ticulous care, that a woman taken in by a family would normally marry off early. Yet, this aunt remained in the Yang Family, unwed, with only an adopted daughter by her side for company.

Could it be...

"Right, your so-called cousin should actually be your biological sister!"

Yang Yingjie shivered.

What on earth was all this?

He sent Tang Chuxia away and hurried ho.

anwhile, Tang Chuxia wore an aunt’s smile, convinced that her secret was well worth the ten thousand yuan.

But why were the highest denominations only ten yuan? If her pockets weren’t enlarged, they wouldn’t fit the cash, which felt like bricks. She quickly stuffed the money into her crossbody bag and was ready to hand it over to Dangdang. She was now in charge of the accounts for the welfare institute; it was only right that the money went to her.

But no sooner had Tang Chuxia arrived ho than she saw Yang Yingjie at her doorstep.

"What’s going on? My secret not accurate, so you ca to take back your donation?"

Yang Yingjie waved his hand dismissively, "Who’s asking for that? Once given, it’s yours. My uncle is dead!"

Tang Chuxia: ...

Perhaps too shocked, Tang Chuxia had trouble reacting.

"Really?"

Yang Yingjie’s face was very grim, "Why would I lie to you? Initially, I went back to ask my uncle about it, but couldn’t find him. When I went to see my aunt, I saw my uncle already cold, and my aunt without breath as well."

Tang Chuxia pulled Yang Yingjie into the yard. Gu Beihuai had already returned and, seeing Tang Chuxia dragging Yang Yingjie over, raised an eyebrow. Just as he was about to ask her to be more discrete, he heard Yang Yingjie ntion Yang Chao’s death.

Gu Beihuai’s sharp senses alerted him that sothing was amiss.

"Let’s go take a look!"

Gu Beihuai didn’t waste any words, signaling for Qin Zhan to join him.

While on the way, Yang Yingjie said, "I didn’t dare to call the police first. With this kind of thing, I always feel that sothing is off, and I thought of coming to find you!"

Yang Yingjie was speaking to Gu Beihuai.

His kind of family would never let others get involved before thoroughly investigating the matter themselves.

Even if Yang Chao was known for being bold in his behavior, it didn’t an the Yang Family would just give up on him, and Yang Chao’s abilities weren’t fabricated—he truly was formidable.

But such a formidable person was dead.

The four of them returned to the Yang Family’s Aunt’s place, where Yang Yingjie had arranged for soone to guard the small courtyard. They entered, and although none of them were faint-hearted, seeing the two corpses still made them uncomfortable.

After a careful check by Gu Beihuai and Qin Zhan, they didn’t find any external injuries, but that didn’t stop them from noticing that the twist angle of the necks on both Yang Chao and the aunt were off.

The deaths were caused by soone snapping their necks instantly.

Yang Chao was not one to be trifled with, yet he had been killed in one strike. What did this imply?

"It seems like the other party’s goal was simply to kill Yang Chao, hence there were no unnecessary actions!"

After Qin Zhan finished speaking, Yang Yingjie was visibly upset.

"You should be grateful that they didn’t suffer much pain in their death, as it happened instantly," Tang Chuxia consoled, patting Yang Yingjie on the shoulder.

Although it was Tang Chuxia who told Yang Yingjie about Yang Chao’s secret, she hadn’t anticipated that Yang Chao would die.

"How did you know my Uncle Yang was with the aunt?" Yang Yingjie asked, clenching his fists.

Tang Chuxia sighed, "As you guessed, it was my dad who told . He always said that he didn’t think Yang Chao and Wen Wenqing would keep going on, simply because your uncle had soone he loved but couldn’t have!"

Even if Father Tang was a screw-up, he was spot-on in so of his analyses.

Seeing that Gu Beihuai and Qin Zhan had nearly finished their examination and compiled all the clues they could find, Yang Yingjie then called the police.

After the police arrived and dealt with the bodies, Yang Yingjie said to Gu Beihuai, "My uncle’s death must be because he knew sothing he shouldn’t have!"

Gu Beihuai, not knowing how to console him at that mont, simply said, "I will definitely investigate thoroughly!"

After all, Yang Chao was also a person of great interest to them.

"It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with wanting to ask Uncle Yang so questions, could it?" Tang Chuxia interjected.

She was just speculating subconsciously. After all, she hadn’t even voiced her questions yet, though of course, she had already asked her grandmother and others.

But whether there was a connection, she was unsure.

Gu Beihuai and Yang Yingjie both looked at her.

"Don’t look at like that. I just wanted to ask Uncle Yang about my dad’s affairs, since my dad has been acting abnormally lately. I was hoping to find so secrets from his youth through their descriptions!"

That was the truth—Tang Chuxia had no reason to lie.

Yang Yingjie shook his head, "There is nothing dangerous about that, it’s unlikely that it would make my uncle a target for silencing."

Gu Beihuai didn’t say much else, he just told Yang Yingjie, "You need to stabilize your family affairs, and your uncle’s body can’t be cremated just yet."

Yang Yingjie understood the rules and assured Gu Beihuai that there was no need to worry.

Leaving the Yang Family residence, Qin Zhan said, "I saw that the woman had calluses on her hands!"

Tang Chuxia’s imagination kicked into overdrive, "Uncle Yang wasn’t killed by his sweetheart, was he? And then she snapped her own neck afterward!"

Gu Beihuai sighed—really wanting to unscrew Tang Chuxia’s head to see how she ca up with these ideas.
