Chapter 184: Chapter 184: A Calamity in Life

Tang Chuxia quickly finished her shower and rushed out.

She felt like a monkey in a zoo, being repeatedly watched by people as an animal.

Surrounded by a few kids who insisted on checking if she had put on a layer of face powder, such an experience was sothing she absolutely did not want to go through a second ti.

Being the first to co out, she was drying her hair with a towel while waiting for her family, but she didn’t expect to be disturbed.

“Amitabha, does the young lady want to have her fortune read?”

Tang Chuxia sized up the old monk in front of her, and a person ca to mind.

She asked back with interest, “So besides fortune telling, what else can you do?”

The bald monk rotated the beads in his hand, his chubby, big-eared face full of compassion.

“Naturally, it depends on what the young lady wants to see!”

Tang Chuxia twirled the ends of her hair with her fingers and tilted her head to tap her forehead, “My fate!”

The bald old monk laughed.

“The young lady’s ti is running out!”

Instead of getting upset, Tang Chuxia pretended to tap her forehead seriously, “Can it be resolved?”

The bald old monk nodded, “A ritual can resolve it!”

He confidently assud Tang Chuxia would take the bait, but to his surprise, instead of cooperating, Tang Chuxia banged the basin she was holding onto his bald head.

“A ritual for your head, do you really think this old lady is still a naive little girl?”

The bald monk, beaten, held his head and scrambled away, still shouting about the severity of the situation.

Tang Chuxia responded by hitting him even harder; and it wasn’t over yet, as Dangdang and Erya ca out. Upon learning the monk said Tang Chuxia’s ti was limited, they also joined the fight.

The result was predictable, and the bald monk was beaten away.

Erya asked anxiously, “Is it really okay to hit soone?”

Looking at Erya, who had her hair cut short, Tang Chuxia didn’t know where to begin and could only pat her shoulder: “That old monk is an exception!”

She didn’t even bother to show him respect.

Dangdang put her hands on her hips: “Exactly, claiming the young lady’s ti was limited, who does he think he is, a judge of fate?”

Dangdang slapped her forehead as soon as she finished speaking, rembering her sister was still inside and quickly rushed in to take care of her.

Erya was terribly embarrassed, afraid to look at Tang Chuxia.

Tang Chuxia patted her shoulder: “You’ll get used to it here; as long as you’re tough enough, no one can bully you!”

Erya nodded gratefully.

She awkwardly touched her head, making Tang Chuxia laugh.

“I’ll find you a hat when we get back ho.” Tang Chuxia noticed Erya wasn’t used to it, and Erya grinned sheepishly.

When the group returned ho, Dangdang shared the bathhouse events with Madam Tang, especially envious of Tang Chuxia’s fair skin.

“I’ll have to trouble you to look after Erya while I check on the stir-frying progress!”

Tang Chuxia slipped away, not having much experience in minding children, feeling her attention should be on money-making affairs instead.

While Tang Chuxia was busy and fulfilled, Gu Beihuai was also not idle, although what he faced was a bit complicated.

He still needed to investigate the ssage Shui Qianmo had left, along with the groundhog issue and Qingzhu’s problem, resting but without any leisure.

Wu Haipeng and the others were also dragged into busyness by Gu Beihuai.

“If you ask , it’s simple, just grab those people and interrogate them to find out what’s going on, right?”

Wu Haipeng tugged at his hair, quite annoyed.

With New Year approaching, they were still crazily busy, no ti for dates.

Gu Beihuai didn’t bother to engage with him but instead spoke to Qin Zhan: “Auntie still needs your company, you being young, stay with her; Haipeng and I will handle the investigation, and you should think about how to start the company when you have ti!”

He still had plans for setting up a security company.

It was a necessity, making it easier for future operations.

Qin Zhan accepted the task and left, while Gu Beihuai and Wu Haipeng sat facing each other in silence.

Finally, Wu Haipeng couldn’t hold back: “What exactly do you an? Are you saying Shui Qianmo has sothing to do with the groundhog’s death?”

Gu Beihuai shook his head: “I suspect the deaths of both the groundhog and Shui Qianmo are just decoys!”

He also recalled the hurried words that Shui Qianmo wrote in his palm—Qingzhu.

Although ssy, he was sure that’s what it said.

The current situation made him cautious.

What exactly were those people trying to do?

Unable to figure it out now didn’t an it wouldn’t be clear in the future, but he couldn’t disclose much to Wu Haipeng at the mont.

He needed to connect with so old comrades to ensure the security company was set up properly, no matter the reasons, not having a team wouldn’t work.

While discussing, Gu Beihuai heard screams from the yard, exchanged a glance with Wu Haipeng, and rushed out.

Upon arriving in the courtyard, he saw Uncle Gu bolting around, clutching his head.

The source of his disarray was none other than Gu Beihuai’s own father.

“Huai, stop your dad, he’s gone mad!”

Uncle Gu no longer had the deanor of a hospital director, jumping around agilely!

Wu Haipeng contained his laughter, muttering softly to Gu Beihuai: “What gossip did Uncle get involved in to make your dad so furious as to attack?”

The contrasting behavior of Uncle Gu was known to those familiar with him.

Gu Beihuai wasn’t satisfying Wu Haipeng’s curiosity, not because he was shielding his uncle, but because he sensed Father Gu wouldn’t actually harm Uncle Gu, and it would be better not to let others see them make fools of themselves.

He grabbed the shoe from Father Gu’s hand and tossed it aside.

Father Gu put on his shoe, his face flushed with anger.

“Beihuai, why are you stopping ? Your uncle deserves a beating!”

Uncle Gu hid behind Gu Beihuai, poking his head out to retort: “Who’s the older brother here? You’re always rebelling!!”

Father Gu was infuriated, directly shouting: “Rebel, you say? Look at what you’ve done! Is Lihua’s business your doing?”

Even Gu Beihuai was curious now.

“What did Uncle Lihua do with Uncle?”

Father Gu pointed at Uncle Gu: “Ask him, it’s his handy work!”

Uncle Gu chuckled dryly, refusing to speak.

Wu Haipeng chid in, “Uncle, you wouldn’t have been conned by Uncle Lihua while snooping for info, would you?”

Uncle Gu waved his hand: “Impossible, how could soone as skilled as be conned by that brat? I more or less conned him!”

This statent deduced that Uncle Gu wasn’t the one at a loss!

Gu Beihuai exchanged a glance with Wu Haipeng, starting to hypothesize.

“Uncle, it’s better to speak honestly; if Dad gets too upset, you’ll suffer!”

Gu Beihuai kindly advised, and Uncle Gu, seeing his brother about to make a move, reluctantly muttered, “It’s your dad, he’s petty!”

Gu Beihuai turned to look at his father.

Father Gu yelled: “He even helped that Lihua guy climb into bed!”
