Chapter 638: Chapter 638: Key
A few days ago.
The hidden floor of the Derry Town Central Hospital – Morgue.
The sound of tal wheels echoed from deep within the dark corridor, signaling the arrival of a new corpse…However, according to hospital rules, it wasn’t a ti for transporting corpses.
Guarding the morgue was a one-ard old man.
Dark eyes,
His emaciated body seed to writhe with an autonomous digestive system,
Behind him rested an unusually sharp iron spade,
From deep within his blackened, toothy mouth ca strange sounds:
“This isn’t the ti to transport corpses. Please leave… Violators of the hospital’s rules will be executed imdiately.”
Yet, the ‘thing’ in the corridor ignored the old man’s warning, its wheel-rolling sound unchanged.
Eventually, a cart carrying a body bag glided out from the deep, dark corridor.
But there was no one pushing this cart… Logically speaking, only the hospital staff in charge of transporting bodies would know where the morgue is located.
The unmanned cart in question was obviously problematic.
The old man promptly picked up the spade behind him and swung it in a vertical chopping motion.
Both the cart and corpse were cut in half.
Hiss~
However, what fell out of the severed body bag were countless spider-like constructs made of fingers… their numbers exceeding the capacity of the body bag itself.
No matter how the old man fought using techniques, or swinging the spade wildly, or even extruding nurous tentacles from his belly to support the fight, or spraying a corrosive bile, he couldn’t keep up with the number of finger spiders.
Soon, the old man was devoured alive.
Having felt the pain of being devoured… the scene shifted, and it was as if the old man had awoken from a dream. He resud his post at the morgue’s entrance.
It seed that he had rely dozed off, having a vivid nightmare.
However, the sound of wheels rolling echoed again from the dark corridor, the sa cart as before reappearing.
The old man proceeded to destroy the corpse and the cart again. This ti, innurable black hairs grew straight out of the corpse bag, instantly intertwining around the old man and slicing him.
Minutes later, he woke up again.
The process repeated ceaselessly, but the old man dutifully protected the morgue… No matter how many tis he died, or how much fear made him tremble, he would imdiately shred any bodies transported outside of the designated ti.
Not until the death toll reached ten tis.
A black liquid overflowed from the ceiling directly above the old man’s head, landing precisely on his bald pate.
When the cart slid over, it was not attacked by the old man.
Instead, it was stopped by his withered arm.
Swish~
The body bag slid open on its own.
A fair-skinned, flawless female corpse suddenly sat up and reached out to grab the old gatekeeper.
At the sa mont, nurous strange tentacles, made up of fleshy bubbles of various sizes, sprang out from the amputated part of the old man’s arm, completely entangling the woman’s hand.
The old man’s aura had completely changed.
Gibble Gabble~ Additional tentacles grew from his mouth.
Producing a voice that was not his.
It was a deep, distant voice, superior to humans.
“Jane, rember I told you before, if you want to co to my hospital… please let
know in advance.”
Although the female corpse seed silent, she was actually communicating with him in a different way.
“Hmm… interesting. But, next ti, rember to notify … even if the mayor allows you to use the hospital’s morgue.
No matter what, this place is my territory.”
Crack crack!
Several tentacles grew out from the old man’s back, braiding together to form a unique flesh key, inserted it into the lock of the morgue… The seemingly ordinary door took several rotations.
Clatter clatter clatter~ There seed to be multiple chanisms set inside the door, including so living ones.
It seed that the morgue was an important area, otherwise, the mayor wouldn’t let the female corpse assist in its managent.
With the extraction of the key, a layer of mucus was left on the lock… If a regular unlocking thod was used, this type of mucus wouldn’t be left.
Since things had been clarified, the main body controlling the old man left.
As the gatekeeper was unable to bear the arrival of this ‘noble’ consciousness, he collapsed into a mush of flesh as soon as the main body left… Soon, another aged worker from the hospital arrived to replace the gatekeeper’s position.
At this point, the female corpse had already entered the morgue area in the cart on her own.
With a mucus-like key module in her mouth, she slowly constructed a rusty iron key through the material inside her body, marked with-[V.O.I.D].
This key, is the special reward that the female corpse would give to Han Dong a few days later.
…
The tiline returned to the present.
When Han Dong approached the central hospital.
The fog could not invade this area, and a hospital that Han Dong had never seen in the “Surface Chapter” appeared before him.
It wasn’t a modern comprehensive hospital, but an old-style hospital building only five storeys tall, which was in line with the small rural town of Derry.
At this mont, Nicole’s voice resonated in Han Dong’s mind.
“Master, there seems to be a ‘Follower’ like
inside! Its aura is strange, as if it’s mixed with sothing weird.”
“Hmm… if you fight him one-on-one, what are your chances of winning?”
“I can’t say for sure without seeing his main body… But the feeling currently, I can’t defeat it.”
Right then, a third voice echoed in his mind – Togu joined in the conversation.
Upon seeing the hospital, Togu’s mory of Derry was awakened a bit more.
“Master, I seem to rember a few things about the hospital.”
“Oh! Tell .”
“Chief Richard Powell… He’s an extremist in Derry, different from us in the Hell Cult. He worships a different, more extre, twisted and insane god.
His own ‘Divinity’ is the highest in Derry.
However, no matter what, I can’t rember his face… It seed like I couldn’t recall his face even before my mory loss, he has one foot in the void, and few people know his true form.”
“Divinity, huh… Hmm, very important information.”
“Chief Richard Powell is a very terrifying existence.
Even if you, my Lord, decide to directly mobilize the power of all our containnt beings, combined with the Ultimate Human Demon, the success chance of directly attacking this hospital might not be more than 50%.”
“Hmm… But there’s no need for a direct attack, and also there’s no need to go all out from the beginning.
We first need to verify sothing. If it verifies out, we can obtain vital brain material through another thod.”
Without summoning any containnt beings, Han Dong stepped alone into the hospital.
“[You have entered Derry Town Central Hospital]… Please be careful!”
